00:19My honour to declare that the duly elected leader of the Labour Party is Andy Burnham.
00:45I am ready. Ready to lead and to build on the foundation laid by one person more than any other.
00:56Under Keir Starmer's leadership we went from our worst defeat to one of the best victories in our history.
01:06Keir put Labour back in a position to change people's lives and that is what we have been doing these
01:13last two years.
01:19We are united and we put the power that comes from that unity at the service of people and places
01:27who have been waiting too long for politics to let them hope again.
01:32And that's what we're going to do everybody. We're going to give them hope back.
01:42I will work relentlessly to build a culture of one Labour team.
01:48Because change starts with us.
02:01We won't beat Britain's new right if we are consumed by infighting and pulling in different directions.
02:09That is and always has been an indulgence that falls heaviest on the people who need Labour most.
02:19Fighting to eradicate it and the insidious briefing culture that goes along with it will characterise my leadership.
02:34And I will lead this party in that spirit.
02:40Not seeking to suspend or punish members who have principled views that may be different from mine.
02:46But building unity by respecting all shades of opinion.
02:51Class communities like the city of my birth.
02:55I haven't made any decisions yet about who will be in that top team.
03:01But I will soon and when I have you will see it reflects all parts of our party.
03:07All communities.
03:09And it will reflect your own place within this great party of ours.
03:14A stronger, more united Labour Party.
03:18Lifting up a stronger and more united Britain.
03:22Because change starts with us.
03:26And let's have the self-confidence to find common ground with other parties where we can.
03:33By seeking more consensus we may just find the change we make is more lasting.
03:39We may find our political discourse in this country becomes that little bit less toxic.
03:48And we should be working to achieve that too.
03:52Labour Party and Labour movement is the best hope for our country.
03:57And I know we won't try to out-green the Greens.
04:01Or out-reform reform.
04:04Or doing what we've done in the past of wearing too many Tory clothes.
04:10Let me tell you, I'm quite happy that Kemi doesn't approve of my wardrobe choices.
04:16Because I'm not keen on theirs either.
04:19From here we do it differently.
04:22We win by being us.
04:28Boldly, confidently, authentically us.
04:32Labour.
04:33That's how we win.
04:35Being in that top team.
04:37But I will soon.
04:38And when I have.
04:39Make no mistake everybody.
04:41I will be a pro-business leader of the Labour Party.
04:45As I was a pro-business Mayor of Greater Manchester.
04:49We turn places round together.
04:53And that is the way we ran in Manchester.
04:57And we will take to the whole country.
05:04And if we don't have sufficient public control over the cost of the essentials.
05:09How can we have control over inflation, public spending and the rest of the economy.
05:16The right use the phrase, take back control.
05:18But they are the ones who gave it away in the first place.
05:22Thank you, Bob.
05:30Thank you, Bob.
05:34May he件ESSS.
