00:00Drake May is all over the place as far as these rankings that are coming out,
00:03the respect that he's getting, the disrespect that he's getting.
00:06I'll tell you one place real quick where he's getting respect,
00:09and that is the sports betting websites.
00:11Ken, you sent this to us earlier.
00:12This is from BetOnline, one of the sports books there.
00:16And they've got all the quarterbacks, almost all of them,
00:19and they've got over-unders for passing yards predicted this year
00:23and touchdown passes and interceptions.
00:26And, man, there aren't many people that they're predicting
00:28to have a better season than Drake May.
00:30As a matter of fact, if you take a look at what they predict
00:33his passing yards is going to be, it's right now at over-under 3,800.5.
00:39Oh, over all day.
00:40And last year he was at 4,400.
00:43But I'm taking a look, and there's maybe three people who are better than him.
00:49They've got Dak Prescott at almost 4,000.
00:52They've got Jared Goff at over 4,000, 4,099.
00:56Joe Burrow at 3,999, and Matthew Stafford, and that's it.
01:01And everyone else, they think that Drake May, those are the only people
01:04that they're thinking are going to have a better, more passing yards this season.
01:07Touchdown passes.
01:08They've got Drake May right now at 26.5.
01:11What was he last year?
01:1231 last year.
01:13Jeez.
01:1331, eight INTs, I believe, yeah.
01:16They've got him.
01:17Don't forget, he had like over 600 yards rushing, too.
01:20Yeah.
01:20Which the guys in front of him right now, those with Stafford and Goff,
01:24don't rush for one yard a season.
01:27And 72% completion percentage, which was, there weren't many people knocking
01:31Drake May when he came out, but one guy who did was Merrill Hodge.
01:33And the one thing he talked about was his accuracy.
01:36Like, he's not going to succeed in this league.
01:37Because of his accuracy.
01:38And for him to complete 72% of his balls with not a top, well, I guess Diggs was
01:44kind of a point.
01:45It wasn't like he was just throwing swing routes into the flat.
01:47Right, right.
01:48Deep down the ball.
01:49Correct.
01:49Down the field.
01:50The only players that they've got are quarterbacks with higher TD passes
01:54predicted is Brock Purdy with 27.5, Dak Prescott with 27.5, and then Joe Burrow,
02:01they think is going to have 32.5, which I think is by far the most.
02:03And by the way, not to overkill with rankings, but the Jeremy Fowler
02:06receiver rankings were out today, and the only team that had two receivers
02:09in the top 10 were Dallas and Dak Prescott.
02:11They had CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, both top 10 receivers.
02:13Sure.
02:14So he's loaded.
02:15So now you've got, you know, a guy who was second in the MVP voting.
02:19And on top of that, you've got people like this on our text line saying,
02:24Drake had the third worst QBR in the playoffs in NFL history,
02:27played the third easiest regular season schedule for 2025 in NFL history,
02:31going to the 2026 season with the hardest regular season schedule.
02:34I love May, but he needs to prove it.
02:36I mean, he does make a decent point.
02:37He makes a decent point.
02:39You know, with that schedule, was it tough to be as good as he was?
02:43I think that obviously what he did was still impressive.
02:46But, Ted, I mean, when you hear something like that, it's a decent point.
02:50No, that's fine.
02:51And the people are going to keep saying that.
02:52I will go back to, did you see the conditions in the playoffs?
02:56Did any of the quarterbacks that he played against, how did they do in those games?
03:01Including C.J. Stroud, who a couple years ago was kind of Drake May of a couple years ago.
03:05And I bought in.
03:06I was like, oh, man, C.J. Stroud.
03:07Yeah.
03:07How did Justin Herbert do?
03:08The guy that supposedly is better than him in a lot of these rankings.
03:13So look at the conditions.
03:15Factor in the injury.
03:17And that's what I would say about the playoffs.
03:20And the soft schedule, those are all valid points.
03:22But did they just win by the hair of their skinny chin-chin in those games?
03:27Or did they blow teams out?
03:28Well, Denver they did.
03:30But he had the signature run in the snow.
03:31No, no, no.
03:31Denver was in the playoffs.
03:32I'm talking about the regular season.
03:33Oh, he's in the soft teams.
03:34Oh, yeah.
03:35Did they annihilate teams?
03:36Or did they just barely get by in wins and squeak out wins?
03:39They crushed teams.
03:40They crushed teams.
03:40So I get the soft schedule.
03:42I get the playoffs.
03:42But when you factor in those other, I think, things, I think you can look at it more favorably
03:47for Drake.
03:48I just think that he's somewhere in between.
03:51He's somewhere in between being the guy who was second in the MVP running.
03:55And I don't think that he's the second best quarterback by all means.
03:57I don't.
03:58I think that obviously there's a couple better.
04:00But I also am looking at some of these lists where they have him at number 61 in the NFL,
04:05like the 61st best player in the NFL, where he's got like Lane Johnson ahead of him
04:10by 20 places.
04:11You're so upset by the Lane Johnson.
04:12That made me laugh.
04:13I mean, Lane Johnson is a good line.
04:14But he's like old.
04:16He's like 36 or something.
04:18Sure, he's fine.
04:19But I mean, Drake May was up for MVP.
04:21But to be honest, if you're in Seattle, aren't you more upset that Sam Darnold gets no love
04:25whatsoever?
04:25And actually, Lamar, I think, gets more disrespected than Drake on a lot of these lists
04:29because some people are kind of bailing on Lamar.
04:31Not every list.
04:32Some people like him.
04:33But some people are out.
04:34I feel like Drake, if you put Drake in the top 10, it's not disrespect.
04:37It's understandable from a national point of view.
04:40To your point, Ted, a lot of people didn't watch these games as closely as well.
04:42All right.
04:43Let's take Josh Allen.
04:45Let's take Matthew Stafford and maybe even Patrick Holmes out of it.
04:48And I'm going to name a quarterback.
04:50And you tell me if they're overrated or underrated.
04:52OK?
04:52Because, you know, this is one of those times where everyone's got an opinion.
04:55Joe Burrow.
04:56Overrated.
04:57Overrated.
04:57I'm with you.
04:58Absolutely.
04:59I love him.
04:59I'd have him fourth right now.
05:00Fourth best.
05:01Drake third.
05:02Burrow four.
05:03Got to stay healthy.
05:04And also, you know, I mean, he's been inconsistent.
05:06Lamar Jackson.
05:08I'd have him fifth.
05:09I think he's being overrated.
05:10But I think he, based on this, I think he's underrated.
05:13I think he's underrated.
05:14I think so, too.
05:15Dak Prescott.
05:16Overrated.
05:17Absolutely.
05:18Justin Herbert.
05:19Way overrated.
05:20He's like top five or six on a lot of these lists.
05:23Overrated.
05:23Most overrated player in this century.
05:25Justin Herbert.
05:25In pro sports.
05:26Justin Herbert.
05:27Justin Herbert?
05:27Yes.
05:28Wow.
05:29Jared Goff.
05:30Underrated.
05:32He's kind of.
05:33I'd say.
05:33He had a 105.5 rating last year.
05:36So, it's tough to say, like, he's terrible.
05:38But.
05:39He's playing a dome.
05:40And his career got off.
05:42I mean, the last part of his career has been better.
05:44I mean, the first part, not so good.
05:46But I'd say he's kind of right where he is.
05:47Yeah, I agree.
05:48He's kind of right there.
05:49Caleb Williams.
05:51Overrated.
05:52Now, see, you love Caleb Williams.
05:53No, I don't love Caleb Williams.
05:55The highlights are enticing.
05:57The highlights have been amazing.
05:59And he now has an OBJ play.
06:01A play that is his signature play that kids are going to mock and they're going to do.
06:05And I think that that is going to make people's impression of him that he is a better player than
06:08he actually is.
06:09That stand-up throw or the jump pass that he did is amazing.
06:14And as a matter of fact, they had him recreate it for the new Madden cover.
06:17And being on Madden alone means you're going to suck this year.
06:19So, yes, I would say he is overrated.
06:22He's fun to watch.
06:23I absolutely love it.
06:24And I love how people hate him, too.
06:26There's a lot of people who just can't stand the guy.
06:29You're one of those guys.
06:33Jalen Brown and Caleb Williams.
06:34Those are you two.
06:37That's very simple.
06:38And Belichick.
06:39Is it the Fingerdale thing?
06:41Because he came out with that?
06:42He cried in his mom's arms, man.
06:44Come on, man.
06:44So did Erling Haaland, though.
06:46When they won, he was crying.
06:47I mean, you didn't rip him.
06:48And then his dad wanted ownership in the team that he was drafting him.
06:52Come on, settle down, I guess.
06:53All right, let's go Brock Purdy.
06:56Underrated.
06:57I think he's overrated.
06:58I think overrated.
06:59It shocks me how many times he pops up on these lists.
07:02He's just a system guy.
07:04I can't imagine him being very good in a system.
07:05I'd put him behind Bo Nix, Trevor Lawrence, Hurts.
07:08I think Hurts is kind of underrated now.
07:10Somehow he's fallen off.
07:11I know AJ Brown doesn't like him or whatever, but he's good.
07:14I mean, the guy's a winner.
07:15I don't think he's as good as some people think, though.
07:18I'll give you one more underrated.
07:20Baker Mayfield.
07:22I think Baker's underrated.
07:24Mago was talking about seeing the new quarterback thing on Netflix is out,
07:26and they have some Baker mic'd up action,
07:28and he's like ripping his teammates left and right.
07:30So I'm kind of curious to watch that.
07:31It sounds like he's a real a-hole.
07:33He's kind of a douchebag.
07:34Yeah, yeah.
07:34But I like him.
07:36I think he's underrated.
07:37He's a douchebag, but I think that he plays hard enough that his teammates respect him.
07:43What about Jordan Love?
07:44I think he's overrated almost to Herbert levels.
07:47But maybe I just don't see him enough, and maybe he's better than I think.
07:50That's a good call.
07:51I'd say overrated a little bit.
07:52I think he's a little bit overrated.
07:54But I think there's definitely potential there, man.
07:56I mean, he lost his best weapon, his tight end last year.
07:59Most underrated is Joe Milton, who you continue to mock despite meeting him at the Super Bowl.
08:04I talked to my friends down in Dallas.
08:05They can't stand a guy.
08:06Wait till he gets in and lights up the world.
08:08Dak's going to get hurt.
08:09Milton's going to go 14-2 this year.
08:11It's going to be glorious.
08:12Fraud, I think was the word that was used in the lot to describe him.
08:14Fraud?
08:15You talked to him.
08:15You had him on Radio Row Week.
08:17Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:18He was charming.
08:19I didn't call him out, did I?
08:20No.
08:22You slurped it up like soup.
08:23Ted, what, are you going to go after him?
08:24No.
08:24I didn't want to be disrespectful.
08:25But if our guest is sitting there live in front of me, I would be very respectful.
08:29Sure, sure.
08:30But I'm sure that you've brought up some things that guests are sitting across from you, and
08:33you've done it in a respectful way.
08:35Always, always.
08:35You know, you can criticism like that.
08:36Yeah, that's my style.
08:37I can't go at them.
08:38Of course, of course.
08:39I can't go at them.
