00:02Hi there. Today we are going to be taking a look at my DVD collection. I have almost
00:15all of them that I own. I do know, before I get started, that my favorite movie is missing
00:25because I just recently took it with me somewhere and haven't unpacked it. That movie is Pride
00:34and Prejudice, the Keira Knightley, 2007 maybe, version. That is my favorite movie of all
00:45time. I'm actually not a huge fan of the book. I think Sense and Sensibility is a much better
00:52book, but that movie is just breathtaking. It calms me. It soothes me. It's the best
01:00movie in the world and no one can change my mind. But I think I have every other DVD that
01:08we own. Some of them are mine. Some of them are my husband's. Some of them we just recently
01:18were gifted, so I've never seen them before. So yeah, let's jump in and take a look at it.
01:27I do want to preface it by saying there's just a lot of noise going on. The neighborhood kids
01:33are playing outside. My kids are awake. It's a lot of kid noises. I don't know if you can
01:41hear it. I can. And also, it is so hot here today, so the AC is on. It's going to
01:48kick on. The fridge
01:49might make noises. It's just what life looks like right now for us. So let's go ahead and start
01:58with the first one. Pretty Woman. I used to love this movie. I haven't seen it in years,
02:11but I just absolutely loved it. It has Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. And if you don't know
02:21another premise, it is that she is a, she's working as a, like an escort prostitute. He picks
02:32her up. He falls in love with her. Their lives are changed. So on and so forth. Whenever I
02:41think of that Prince song, that Kiss, I think of this movie. I'm going to go kind of fast because
02:49there's quite a few here. The next one that I have is Princess Diaries 2. I don't own Princess
03:00Diaries 1. I don't know why. I do have to be honest. This is one of the only movies that
03:08I think the sequel is better than the first one. I enjoyed this one much better than the
03:15first one. So in this movie, she is trying to find a husband because in order to keep her
03:25spot on the throne, there's an old, outdated rule that she has to be married. Chris Pine is
03:33in that movie and somebody else. I don't remember. Like something Andrew. I don't remember who her
03:48suitor is in that one. This next one is my husband's movie. This is his favorite movie.
03:58movie. I gotta be honest. I tried to watch this with him. Could not. Couldn't get through
04:07it. He absolutely loves this movie though. I don't know. Is this the movie or is this
04:16just episodes? I don't know? I don't know. He would know. It kind of looks like it's just
04:25like episodes which I didn't even know. They did. I thought it was just a movie. Next we
04:33have Shrek. I was trying to look up on the back of this to see when this movie came out.
04:44I feel
04:45like I was in middle school or high school maybe and this movie was just like such a big part
04:56of me growing up. I had the soundtrack like on a CD. I still can like sing all the songs
05:06to this
05:07And so I was telling my husband about it. And for Christmas he got me all of them.
05:15Shrek. Shrek 2. Shrek the 3rd. Shrek Forever After. Puss in Boots. Shrek the Musical. Ten shorts and five TV
05:26episodes.
05:31Shrek. The only one I really like is Shrek. I have seen this one. I have not seen this one
05:39or this one or this one or this one or this one or this one.
05:44But it was just a sweet gift. Next I have Finding Nemo. This is a lot of these DVDs. I
05:56mean I have children now but a lot of these DVDs I got when I was teaching.
06:03So when I was teaching I used to have my students in like pods like groups and when they did
06:12something amazing or follow directions quickly they're or like did good teamwork their group would get a point or display
06:21kindness towards one another.
06:23And at the end of the end of the week whoever had the most points got to stay in for
06:28lunch on Friday and eat lunch with me. I called it Lunch Bunch.
06:34And we picked a movie and it had to be rated G in order for me to play it at
06:40the time. Now I don't know if you can play any movies like this without permission.
06:47But it had to be rated G and we would watch 30 minutes of the movie. And they would pick
06:53out which one they wanted. So Finding Nemo was pretty popular.
06:57And now that I have children it's still very popular because it's just such a cute movie.
07:05This next one I actually hate this movie. I think it's a very unpopular opinion. My students loved it. I
07:14refuse to show it to my kids unless they ask me because I can't stand this movie.
07:21It is WALL-E. I know that some people just love it. But I get so attached to these little
07:30robot characters. And I feel so sad for him. And I just I can't. I hate watching it.
07:38This one was really really popular with my students. And I ended up like hiding it because I was so
07:46tired of watching it every single week.
07:56This next one I have never seen. And I don't believe my husband has ever seen either. It's Scarface. Someone
08:03just gave it to us.
08:05They were getting rid of a bunch of DVDs and my husband picked out a couple of them that he
08:11was interested in.
08:12And this was one of them. I do not think that this is going to be my kind of movie.
08:20You'll notice most of my movies are like teaching movies or comfort movies.
08:26Like Pride of Prejudice. I have a lot of Jane Austen you'll see.
08:30I really enjoy comfort movies that I've seen over and over again.
08:36I'm not big on suspense. I'm not big on action.
08:40For sure. No horror. Absolutely not.
08:43Do not even watch horror in my house.
08:46I like predictable and soothing movies.
08:51Next we have The Princess Bride.
08:56I haven't seen this movie in so long.
09:00I actually want to pop it in.
09:02Because I remember liking it.
09:05Was I growing up when this came out?
09:07What year is this?
09:102006?
09:12No.
09:131987?
09:14No.
09:15I don't know.
09:16I don't know.
09:17Maybe I was growing up when this came out.
09:19Maybe it came out when I was older.
09:22Maybe it came out before I was born.
09:24I don't know.
09:27But I haven't seen it in so, so long.
09:30I actually think maybe it did come out in 1987.
09:32Because I'm picturing the child actor.
09:35And he's like completely grown up now.
09:38He was in a lot of stuff.
09:39I don't know his name.
09:41But I remember him from my childhood.
09:45Okay, next we have a TV show.
09:51The Office.
09:52I used to have quite a few TV shows.
09:58But eventually I ended up just buying them on a digital copy.
10:05Because it's easier for me than pulling out these DVDs.
10:11Oh, this is so shiny.
10:14Pulling out these DVDs and figuring it out.
10:21But I do have the entire box set of The Office right here.
10:27When I found out Peacock was pulling it from Netflix.
10:31I did buy the entire set.
10:34Because I didn't think I would like Peacock.
10:35But plot twist, years later, I have it.
10:39And I love Peacock.
10:42Next up we have The Parrot Trap.
10:45I think I have this one on VHS.
10:48If you've seen my VHS collection videos, do you remember this one?
10:55I'm pretty sure I do.
10:57Look how adorable Lindsay Lohan was.
11:00So, so cute.
11:01If you haven't seen The Parrot Trap, you need to watch it.
11:04But I still absolutely love Oreos and peanut butter.
11:09It's the only way I'll eat an Oreo.
11:13Oh, this one.
11:16This was my favorite movie when I was little.
11:21I was not like your typical child.
11:28And so, I used to watch a bunch of these old musicals with my mom growing up.
11:38And I loved this one.
11:40I haven't seen it in a while.
11:43But it has, um, Gene Kelly in it.
11:47And, um, oh, what is her name?
11:52Debbie Reynolds.
11:54And also Donald O'Connor is like his sidekick.
11:58The funny guy in it.
12:01I loved this one growing up.
12:03I really loved old musicals growing up.
12:07Now, I'm not really a big fan of them.
12:10But this one is so, like, nostalgic and sentimental to me.
12:14Like, I went and I watched South Pacific recently.
12:24I, I have no words for that movie.
12:27No words.
12:31Next, we have one that I absolutely loved.
12:35When was I in high school or college?
12:37Let's see.
12:39This is 2001, so it could have been either.
12:42Because that was before I was in high school and college.
12:46A Knight's Tale with Heath Ledger.
12:49I also haven't seen this movie in, like, oh, 10 plus years.
12:5815 years.
13:01It's got the guy from The Holiday.
13:06It's got these guys in it.
13:08This guy is, does so much voice work.
13:11If you look him up, I don't know his name.
13:14But he does so much voice work.
13:16He's in, like, every movie you've ever seen.
13:21I don't know her name.
13:24At all.
13:27But Heath Ledger is in it.
13:29I loved this movie growing up.
13:31I can't really vouch for it anymore because I haven't seen it in a long time.
13:36But this was a hit for me.
13:40This is one of my favorite movies.
13:43And you're going to see that we're back on the comfort theme.
13:49I can watch this movie all day, every day, any day.
13:55I can pop it in.
13:56I'm always in the mood for this movie.
13:59I'm not a big fan of Tom Hanks, but I do love the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan movies.
14:09If you've never seen this one, it's a 90s movie, right?
14:14It's, like, very 90s.
14:16Yeah, 1998.
14:18And Meg Ryan owns a little children's bookstore.
14:23And, oh, what is his name in here?
14:27F-O-X.
14:31Oh, I can't remember what his name is.
14:33But Tom Hanks' character.
14:37His family owns, like, a big chain bookstore.
14:40Like, think, like, your Barnes & Noble, something like that.
14:44They are email, AIM, correspondence.
14:50And it's just so nostalgic because I used that all the time growing up.
14:55So, hearing that, like, you've got mail and the dial-up tones, the opening, like, credit scene to this is
15:05amazing.
15:07It's so 90s.
15:09It's lovely.
15:10So, they hate each other in real life, but they're falling in love with each other over email.
15:19Very cute.
15:20This next one is another one of my favorite movies, and it's Sense and Sensibility.
15:26I adore Sense and Sensibility, the book.
15:30It is one of my favorite books.
15:33It is my favorite Jane Austen novel.
15:38I definitely like the novel more than Pride and Prejudice.
15:42And I like the Pride and Prejudice movie more than Sense and Sensibility.
15:48I just absolutely love this.
15:53I love this movie.
15:56We have Eleanor, who is an older sister, and Marianne, who is her younger sister.
16:04I don't remember their names, though.
16:09I don't remember their names.
16:14And I don't think I'm going to remember it.
16:17They fall in love.
16:19They break up.
16:20You know, your classic Jane Austen story.
16:28Next, we have Harry Potter.
16:33So, I have 1, 2, 3, and 4 Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire.
16:42I got these maybe in college.
16:46No, were they all out when I was in college?
16:52I don't remember when I got these, but they were like $10 for both.
16:57You're going to see I have 5, 6, part 1 of 7, part 2 of 7 as well.
17:03I love Sorcerer's Stone.
17:06I like Chamber of Secrets.
17:08This is my favorite movie to watch, Prisoner of Azkaban.
17:14I don't like to watch Goblet of Fire at all.
17:23Then, I have 5, 6, 7, part 1, 7, part 1, Order of the Phoenix.
17:30I hate the book, but I like the movie.
17:34And it has my favorite soundtrack of all the movies.
17:39Half-Blood Prince is my favorite book.
17:43I'm not such a fan of the movie because it just gets so dark.
17:47But I do love Deadly Hallows, part 1, before all the wars and bad things happen.
17:54And Deadly Hallows, part 2, I like.
18:00Like, I bought these so long ago, probably, like, when it came out.
18:10So, what does it say, 2013 is when they came out with this, this set.
18:17So, a very long time ago.
18:19I've had those for a long time.
18:21Okay, so that's one vial, and we are 20 minutes in.
18:26I'll go faster.
18:28Next, I have another Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, Sleepless in Seattle.
18:33I don't enjoy this one as much as I enjoy You've Got Mail.
18:40So, the story is kind of weird to me, but I like it.
18:44I love Meg Ryan's hair in that movie, and it's got Bill Bolin in it.
18:50And he's in the movie Casper, and I love the movie Casper.
18:55You know what?
18:56I do have that movie, and I don't think it's in this vial.
19:00So, add Casper to the list.
19:01Next, this next one is a comfort movie.
19:05He's just not that into you.
19:08I just absolutely love this movie.
19:10I'm a big fan of Justin Long in this movie.
19:15I'm not a big fan of this storyline.
19:22Right here.
19:24But I love her storyline, her storyline, her storyline.
19:28His, he's, I mean, he's okay.
19:31I just don't really like him as an actor.
19:35Are you the exception, or are you the rule?
19:38This has one of my favorite songs in it, which might be why I like the therapy.
19:46Next, another comfort movie that I feel like no one ever talks about is The Wedding Date.
19:51I have watched this movie so many times.
19:54It is a lovely movie.
19:57The premise of it is wild.
20:00So, we have Debra Messing, and she has broken up with her fiancé, maybe, who's this, like, blonde guy, I
20:12think.
20:13And she hires an escort.
20:15I don't know how to say his name to be perfectly honest.
20:20Dermot, Dermot, Dermot, Mulroney.
20:25But she hires him.
20:27You may recognize him from my best friend's wedding.
20:30She hires him to pose as her boyfriend in her wedding date.
20:35And, of course, they fall in love.
20:37It's kind of, like, pretty woman, but, like, flipped.
20:42And then she finds out why her fiancé broke up with her.
20:48And just shit goes down in this movie.
20:52And they have a conflict, you know, your basic romantic comedy.
21:01Okay, I think the next ones are, like, children's movies.
21:06So, this one is Thumbelina, which was one of my absolute favorite movies growing up.
21:15I just tried to have my kids watch this one again, and they're just not into it.
21:21And it broke my heart.
21:23I love this movie.
21:25I love the music.
21:28The person who voices Thumbelina is Ariel from The Little Mermaid.
21:34So, her voice is beautiful and perfect.
21:36Just like Ariel's.
21:38Just the cutest movie.
21:40My favorite character in this is the beetle.
21:42I love the beetle.
21:47Next, my other favorite movie growing up was Ferd Gully, The Last Rainforest.
21:54I haven't watched this since I was a child.
21:57I remember it being kind of scary.
22:01But the premise of this is they live in the rainforest.
22:05And there's fairies.
22:07And they all live in harmony.
22:09But humans are coming in.
22:12And they are, like, cutting down the rainforest.
22:15And letting out this, like, black substance.
22:25I don't remember what it's supposed to represent.
22:27I think just pollution.
22:30And they have to all work together.
22:34And I think a human gets shrunk or something.
22:37Or I don't remember why the human is small.
22:42Next is another teaching movie.
22:45This is Toy Story 3.
22:49Actually, the kids never chose to watch this one.
22:51So, I don't think I've ever seen it.
22:55But it was cheap.
22:56So, I got it.
22:58This one, I don't feel like it's talked enough about.
23:03Because it wasn't a Disney movie.
23:06Like, um, the Belina and Ferd Gully.
23:09They also weren't Disney movies.
23:12But this is the swan princess.
23:14And I loved this movie growing up.
23:17So, she gets...
23:18This is Ojet.
23:19I don't know his name.
23:21She gets a curse put on her.
23:23Where at night or during the day, she turns into a swan.
23:31What does it say?
23:33No, it just says it's transformed into a swan.
23:36And she's, like, trapped there by a sorcerer.
23:41I loved Disney growing up.
23:44I feel like it never gets mentioned or talked about, really.
23:49Okay.
23:51Oh, I'm trying to, like, reposition without flashing my feet.
23:56This one was my brother's favorite movie growing up.
24:00And I think ours is so, so cute.
24:03And it's also rated G.
24:05So, we had that one for Lunch Bunch.
24:08This is one of my favorite Disney movies.
24:12Top five, definitely.
24:14A Bug's Life.
24:17I think this is the cutest movie ever.
24:22It's so cute.
24:24And I don't feel like it gets enough love as a Disney movie.
24:29I've seen my top five Disney movies.
24:31Nightmare Before Christmas.
24:33Hercules.
24:37Monsters University.
24:39A Bug's Life.
24:41And...
24:43I'd have to think about the last one.
24:46So cute.
24:50This one is also one from my childhood.

25:01A dinosaur story.
25:02Do you guys remember this movie?
25:06Like, somehow they make the dinosaurs go to modern day New York or San Francisco or something.

26:03It was like one of those books that my mom would read to me at night.

26:20Speaking of favorite Disney movies, here is Monsters University.
26:26I actually watch this one frequently, because my kids like Monsters, Inc. and that TV show, Monsters at Work.
26:40Okay, next we have Major Pain.
26:45This one's never been opened.
26:47You can see the plastic on it.
26:51I don't know what it's about.
26:53I do know my husband used to watch it growing up, and he liked it.
26:59This was a gift.
27:07Next, we have Miss Congeniality.
27:10When did this one come out?
27:11This is rated R.
27:13This one came out in 2000.
27:15I remember watching this one.

27:20My mom didn't know it was rated R.
27:22She would have never let me watch it.
27:25Cute movie.
27:27FBI agent going undercover as a beauty queen.
27:36Next up, we have Never Been Kissed.
27:40With Drew Barrymore and David Arquette.
27:47This came out in 1999.
27:50I actually would like to watch this one again.
27:53These kind of movies from the 90s were wild.

27:58Oh, was it like House Party or something?
28:03I don't know.
28:04Where, like, the girl takes off her glasses and she's pretty.
28:07Oh, man.
28:09Those movies from the 90s.
28:10Absolutely wild.
28:11Cannot believe that they got made.
28:15That one is definitely tame.
28:17I'm talking about, like, the House Party movies and, like, coming of age movies in the 90s.
28:27Next up, we have Pirates of the Caribbean.
28:30The Curse of the Black Pearl, which is the first one and the only one I've ever watched.
28:36Not really my cup of tea, so...
28:39I do love Keira Knightley, though.
28:41And I think she is breathtakingly beautiful, especially in this movie.
28:45And I think she was only 17 in this movie, which is just wild to me.
28:49Okay, next up, we have another Jane Austen film, and this one is Persuasion.
29:00I really enjoy this book, Persuasion.
29:05I think it's a really good book by Jane Austen.
29:08One of my favorite ones, for sure.
29:11I don't really remember much of the movie.
29:14I'd have to watch it again.
29:19Next up is a movie I haven't thought of in years.
29:24I used to watch this one growing up.
29:26I grew up in the South.
29:29When I was growing up, George Street was one of my favorite singers.
29:35And so, I really liked this movie.
29:38I haven't seen it since I was, like, probably about 13.
29:45So, I'm trying to think of the premise to this.
29:47He is a big country star.
29:51And I don't remember why, but he wants to get away.
29:55Or he has to get away or something.
29:57So, he ends up going to this farm that this woman works on.
30:04And he falls in love with her.
30:09And she doesn't know who he is.
30:12And then, she finds out who he is.
30:17He sings the song, I Cross My Heart.
30:21Which, I still adore that song.
30:23I do like, I almost said Brad Pitt's music.
30:27Because that's the next movie.
30:29He's just staring at me.
30:30Um, I do really still enjoy George Street's music a lot.
30:36He is definitely one of my favorite artists.
30:39This one, I don't know anything about.
30:42Um, someone just gave this one to me and my husband.
30:46I think it might be horror.
30:49A psychological thriller.
30:51So, that's a big nope from me.
30:53Oh my god, it's about killing.
30:56Nope.
30:57This sounds absolutely terrible.
30:59We'll not be watching this.
31:00I think my husband wanted to watch it.
31:06This one, I don't actually know what it is or where we got it from.
31:12Animatrix.
31:12Have you heard of that?
31:14It's like an animated short film based on The Matrix.
31:23I've never heard of it.
31:24I've actually never seen The Matrix.
31:27Either.
31:30So, I don't know anything about that one.
31:33I didn't even know we had that.
31:37Oh, okay.
31:38This next one.
31:39When did this one come out?
31:412005.
31:42This was one of my favorite movies in college.
31:46The Illusionist.
31:47Nothing is what it seems.
31:49I have not watched it since college though.
31:52Oh, and I don't even really remember the premise of this either.
31:58He is an illusionist, like a magician.
32:02He makes her disappear.
32:06They think she's dead, maybe.
32:12I don't remember.
32:14I did absolutely love this movie.
32:18It's one of those movies where you never really know what's going on until the end.
32:31Oh, this was also, I think, a movie I enjoyed in college, maybe after.
32:39Eat, pray, love.
32:43I don't know if I would enjoy it so much now, but I do really like Julia Roberts.
32:49And I do have the book.
32:51I've read the book.
32:52The book was not my favorite.
32:55Okay, let's see.
32:57Let's do this giant one.
32:59Oh, sorry about that.
33:01This giant one just staring at me.
33:04They bought this complete series.
33:07So, it has two sets.
33:13This is seasons one through five, and this is seasons six through nine.
33:19I do really enjoy The Wolves.
33:23I think it's a great show.
33:27One of my favorites.
33:30Okay, I only have two more left.
33:33No, I have three.
33:36Oh, I'm going to end it on one of my favorite movies that I always get made fun of for
33:42being one of my favorite movies.
33:44But I don't care.
33:46This one, Black Sheep.
33:49I've never seen it.
33:50I think it's my husband's.
33:53But it has David Spade and Chris Farley in it.
33:59So, I'm assuming it's comedy.
34:02Let's see.
34:04Helping his big brother win the race for Washington state governor.
34:14He turns every opportunity for votes into an embarrassing disaster.
34:20Campaign aid in Super Slacker.
34:22David Spade volunteers to babysit Mike.
34:31Next, we have another one that was one of my favorite movies as a child.
34:35My parents let me watch this as a child.
34:39But the version I watched was, you know how in the 90s you could, you had a VCR player and
34:48you could put a blank tape in it and tape something off the TV.
34:51And if there was something bad about to happen, you could pause it and it wouldn't record that part.
34:59And then you could record it again and it would keep recording.
35:03So, my mom did take out the really bad stuff.
35:08But the songs in this.
35:10I watched this as an adult.
35:13And I listened to the songs.
35:16Oh, I cannot believe.
35:19My mom let me watch that.
35:21I was very protected and sheltered as a child.
35:25Which is why that shocks me so much.
35:30Second to last, we have How to Lose the Guy in 10 Days.
35:34This is just a comfort movie.
35:38Taught me how to play the game.
35:40Bullshit.
35:42Or BS, as we call it in my family.
35:45My family is Southern.
35:46They don't curse.
35:47I do not curse around them.
35:53That's a cute movie.
35:54Everyone's heard of that movie.
35:56It's very cute.
35:58Okay, last.
36:00I'm kind of embarrassed I did save this one for last.
36:03In my defense, it was off on its own.
36:07I love this movie.
36:08I won't apologize for loving it.
36:10It is one of my favorite movies.
36:12It is predictable.
36:13It's as close to action as I'll get.
36:17In suspense as I'll get.
36:19I love this movie.
36:21My husband makes fun of me relentlessly for this movie.
36:25Because it's in my top ten.
36:28And that is National Treasure.
36:32I think I have talked about this recently because I watched the TV show that they just came out with.
36:38And I really enjoyed that too.
36:42I enjoyed National Treasure.
36:44I love this movie.
36:45This is another one.
36:46I can pretty much watch anytime.
36:49Always be in the mood for.
36:51Pop it in.
36:53You know, you don't really have to watch it.
36:55It's just on in the background.
36:56It's comforting.
36:57It's like watching a favorite show.
37:04And that is all I have.
37:07I mean, I have some other, like, little kid ones.
37:10But I won't subject you to those.
37:15And of course, I have all my Christmas DVDs.
