00:08freshwater. It's called Waterize, and it could change the future of reverse osmosis forever.
00:13The problem with conventional reverse osmosis is that it needs a lot of energy to strip salt
00:17out of the water. That's where Waterize comes in, using the constant and extreme natural
00:22pressure of deep ocean areas rather than using pressurizers to create it artificially.
00:26This is Waterize CEO Niels Peter Wright. He says they drop their device into the ocean and send
00:32it down to around 1,650 feet. Then they turn it on. And he says it continues doing its job,
00:50lowering the amount of energy needed to cause reverse osmosis by upwards of 40%. But because
00:55of the depth, the water is also cold when it comes out. What's more, a single machine can
00:59create as much as 50 million liters of water every day, which is good news moving forward.
