00:00It's very hard to get away from the LeBron story,
00:01but yet every time we turn around, I see something new.
00:04Well, go ahead.
00:06Well, no, something that you said,
00:07I thought you had a pretty good theory on why he may not announce on Thursday
00:13on a podcast.
00:15Well, there are several podcasts.
00:16CBS put together a thing, six areas or six ways he could announce it.
00:23The sixth was just show up for a media day somewhere.
00:27That would be funny.
00:28But the number one was a podcast appearance,
00:31and it said his podcast is coming up on Friday,
00:36and it's his Mind the Game podcast with Steve Nash,
00:40and they're supposed to record a live episode.
00:43But it's with special guest host Tyrese Halliburton.
00:51Why would you announce it when an Indiana Pacer is sitting there?
00:54If you're going to the Pacers!
00:59Or maybe you announce it at the end of the show
01:02and tell Halliburton goodbye for the last segment.
01:07Or maybe you do it in the first segment and then bring Halliburton on later.
01:11I don't know.
01:12That might be right.
01:16That might be right.
01:18All right.
01:19Hang on.
01:20Hang on.
01:20I do want to get back to baseball here for a second.
01:23I'm still trying to figure out the best way from a media standpoint.
01:29First of all, if I were him, I would do it on Thursday.
01:33There's nothing else going on.
01:35There really isn't.
01:36I mean, yes, we could talk about the Open, British Open.
01:40And I'm not talking about us.
01:41I'm talking about how do you dominate the news cycle?
01:45Because that's part of the game.
01:46And maybe we care too much about that,
01:48but I think we're trying to look to see what happens
01:51or try to figure out what he's doing.
01:53I do look at history on LeBron and think about the very first decision
01:59and that he, remember everyone, I've said this before,
02:01but everybody expected him to be the first piece to fall.
02:05There are a lot of players kind of out there waiting to see,
02:07well, Kamiga is the one I keep thinking about,
02:09but to see when LeBron goes, right?
02:14He seems like, is he choice B, I guess,
02:18for a lot of people that would need that position?
02:21I still keep going back to this.
02:22There's way too, and again, I appreciate LeBron,
02:27one of the greatest players of all time.
02:28And I think he'd be a real nice addition to the Cavaliers
02:32or any other team.
02:33And there's a lot of stink going on here
02:36about a guy who's going to be 42 in December.
02:38I know he's still good.
02:40You know he's still good.
02:42I know.
02:42And I think he'd be a nice addition.
02:45But I'm sorry, it's not like you're getting LeBron of 10 years ago.
02:49You're not getting LeBron of five years ago.
02:52And it's credit to LeBron and Rich Paul for milking this thing for all it's worth.
02:58And he will make a difference for whatever team he goes to,
03:01but so will Jonathan Kamiga.
03:03You know, so will other guys.
03:06There are plenty of guys out there who will make a difference.
03:09And I just, it's, I mean, credit to them,
03:13but it's stunning to me that there's this much stink about a guy who's in his 40s
03:18as a basketball player.
03:20John Ireland was with us on Friday,
03:22and the Laker play-by-play guy.
03:24And John said he's still one of the top,
03:26I think John said 20 players in the league.
03:28That might be.
03:32But at some point, at some point, 41-42 kicks in.
03:39Might not have too much yet, but defense is still part of the game.
03:45That's got to be worked on.
03:47But I don't know that you work on it anymore.
03:50Would you say he's a legacy guy, that he cares about his legacy?
03:54It's already established, Andy.
03:56He can do nothing on a basketball court to tarnish his legacy at this point.
04:03Way too good for way too long.
04:05I agree.
04:07That's why I don't, this move to me is just,
04:13if he doesn't, when it's all said and done,
04:16and you think his legacy is set, people are either going to.
04:20And if he wins another championship,
04:23great.
04:24He's already won four.
04:25But people will say, oh, remember he did that at the end of his career.
04:28Yeah, but depending on where.
04:30So what, he's won four championships as well.
04:31But his, so, but when you go back and say to yourself,
04:35when you think about LeBron James,
04:37and we'll all think about his cab, I'm 100% sure of that.
04:40But his legacy, he'll be remembered as,
04:44like he spent eight straight years in LA.
04:47And I don't think when you go back and close your eyes 10 years from now
04:51or 10 years after he retires, anyone's going to, oh, yeah, yeah.
04:55Oh, LeBron did play in LA.
04:56But I don't really think of him that way.
04:58I think of him as either a guy that won two championships with the Heat
05:01or won one with the Cavs but took them to the finals, what, five times?
05:07Of his 10 times going to the finals.
05:10Like, I don't, his, whatever happens this year, let's say,
05:13let's say he goes to Philly, okay?
05:15Like, I don't think his legacy is ever going to.
05:18He won't be tied to Philly at all.
05:20Never.
05:20Yeah, it's Jordan and the Wizards.
05:23And that team's ready to win now anyway.
05:26If they get LeBron, it'll help.
05:28If they don't get LeBron, they've still got a great chance
05:31to go to the NBA finals out of the East.
05:32Yeah.
05:34But it's not the end-all, be-all.
05:36Well, it's not for anybody right now, even our team.
05:41Yeah, he can't be the end-all, be-all for any team.
05:44Well, if he is, then that team, I think, is, I think they're making
05:49a strategical mistake.
05:53But I don't think anybody's doing that.
05:54So how does that play into what he's thinking right now?
05:56Like, trying to figure out what team.
05:58I don't know what he's thinking.
05:59If you decide you're going to go, you know, if you come back to Cleveland,
06:03I just think there's a, it's a really, it's a very easy,
06:07in-the-box thing to do for him.
06:09It's a team that's ready to.
06:13Well, there are several of those.
06:15No, I just think us and Miami.
06:18Us, Miami, Golden State, Philly.
06:20All four of those teams would be, would benefit by having LeBron.
06:25And all four of those teams, Indy, I think,
06:27have a really good chance to win next year.
06:30Let's say he goes to Philly and they don't win because of him next year.
06:33It's not on him.
06:35But people will say, like, yeah, I don't remember LeBron went to his,
06:38went to Philly last year.
06:39LeBron went to, LeBron went to Golden State.
06:43I was reading another story about how there are, you know,
06:46a bunch of, there's some West Coast front office people
06:48that think he's going to stay in the Western Conference
06:50and he's going to Golden State.
06:55Okay.
06:56At the end of the day, I think he'll be remembered as a Cav.
06:59He'll be remembered as, you know, his championships in Miami.
07:03And, like, the impact in L.A. just wasn't there,
07:09despite the fact of the consecutive years.
07:12I actually think it'll be, if they win a championship in Philly,
07:18they don't really need him, right?
07:20Isn't that what we're saying?
07:21Well, no, I think he would help.
07:22He would help.
07:23But, like you just said, they can win a championship without him.
07:25It's not.
07:26And so could the Cavs.
07:28And maybe so could Miami.
07:30Miami, I don't think Golden State could.
07:33I remember when he came back last time.
07:35Like, I got tipped a couple weeks before.
07:37And I was like, you're kidding.
07:39He's not coming back.
07:40Ding!
07:41And I was told, no, think about it.
07:43What would be the biggest, one of the biggest sports stories ever
07:46in sports history?
07:48And it was, you know, the return of LeBron here after, you know,
07:53an ugly divorce with Dan Gilbert where they were able to figure it out.
07:57By the way, no one talks about that anymore.
07:59Not even us.
08:00You know, in the beginning of this whole process this time,
08:03I think we both kind of said, does Dan really want to?
08:06Like, I think the organization would like to win a championship
08:09without LeBron on the roster.
08:11I still think that.
08:12I do too, but everyone seems to.
08:15Well, I heard their head coach.
08:16He'd be willing to bring him back and forget about that theory.
08:19Well, I also think that the organization would be giddy to get him back.
08:25They were saying this morning, there's a hold on season tickets?
08:28I heard that on our morning show this morning.
08:29You know what that would mean?
08:30That they're waiting?
08:31LeBron's back.
08:32Can you say twice the price?
08:36What a great motto.
08:37I'm just saying that.
08:39All in?
08:39I don't know that.
08:40What do you want to do?
08:40Should we all in?
08:42Or get on board?
08:45Or twice the price?
08:48Those would be good t-shirts.
08:50It's your new Cavaliers.
08:51Twice the price.
08:52Come on down.
08:53Come on down.
08:53Come on down.
08:54Come on down.
08:54Come on down.
