00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. It's another hot afternoon
00:05ahead for parts of England and Wales. Some areas are looking at the 8th or 9th day of
00:10the heat wave, very dry and settled all thanks to high pressure. Also an area of low pressure
00:15not too far away and this battleground between high and low pressure does create a few more
00:20isobars on the chart particularly across southern areas of England and Wales. Now it's another
00:25hot dry and sunny afternoon ahead, many of us heading off to the beach but do take care
00:30because the strong gusty winds across southern areas of England and Wales could create some
00:34choppy waters and also some strong tides so just take some extra precautions if you are
00:39heading to the beach today. Other than that it's another dry settled day, plenty of blue
00:44skies across the UK, still a bit more cloud across eastern areas and some southern areas
00:50of Scotland but hopefully breaking up allowing some sunny spells to develop particularly across
00:54the west and across the far north of Scotland. Lots of sunshine to go around and feeling
00:59rather hot in that sunshine once again across central and southern areas of England and Wales,
01:05the high 20s if not the low 30s degrees Celsius. Feeling that bit cooler across many eastern
01:11areas in that easterly wind so more towards the high teens if not the low to mid 20s across
01:16parts of the east and south east England but like I said a fairly brisk easterly wind out
01:21there hopefully making things feel that bit cooler even if you are in the hotter areas and don't
01:26forget that does mean the UV is going to be high if not very high across parts of England and
01:32Wales
01:32so don't forget your sunglasses, your hat and of course your sun cream. Now to finish off the day,
01:38lots of late evening sunshine, it's another warm night ahead across parts of the southwest but feeling a
01:44little bit fresher elsewhere and once again in that easterly wind will continue to bring in some moisture
01:49from the north sea so some low cloud returning by the time we reach the morning. So like I said
01:55a slightly
01:55fresher night particularly eastern Scotland dropping down to the high single figures here but once again
02:00mostly across Devon and Cornwall it's another warm and muggy night to come. So similar to what we had this
02:06morning there will be some bits of low cloud around. This will be a little bit thicker across parts of
02:11East Anglia,
02:12Lincolnshire, southern parts of Yorkshire so producing some light outbreaks of rain and drizzle here.
02:17This cloud will gradually break up and lift through the course of the morning and we'll see a return
02:22of the blue skies across many areas of the UK by the afternoon especially across Scotland where it'll be
02:28a little bit cloudier this afternoon so more sunshine here. Still a little bit cooler across those eastern
02:33coasts, a bit of a leaf from the heat in that easterly breeze. Still very warm across England and Wales,
02:39temperatures are touched down compared to what they are this afternoon and still that very brisk easterly
02:44wind across the south potential for some gales here but the good news is that should hopefully
02:49once again provide some relief from the heat but otherwise it's another dry settled day lots of
02:54sunshine and feeling very warm in that sunshine for some of us. Now if we look ahead into this week
03:00it's staying dry it's staying sunny and it's often going to be hot especially in eastern areas where
03:05it's been a bit a touch cooler those areas will start to heat up once again. Still quite humid at
03:11times this could spark off some showers possibly some thunderstorms and often remaining very windy
03:17across the south. But of course for more updates on next week's weather don't forget you can always
