Assistant Chief Constable Matt Longman says that, following the arrest of a white British man in Rotherham, police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder of Ann Widdecombe, adding that "there is nothing to suggest that it was politically motivated."

00:00Our investigation into the death of 78-year-old Anne Widdicombe has continued to develop over the past 24 hours.
00:06Shortly after 9pm, on Saturday 11th July, a 28-year-old white British man was arrested at an address in
00:14Rotherham, South Yorkshire, on suspicion of the murder of Miss Widdicombe.
00:21We were supported by officers from Counterterrorism Police North East and South Yorkshire Police, who carried out the arrest on
00:28behalf of Devon and Cornwall.
00:30Miss Widdicombe's family have been informed of the update and continue to be supported by our specialist officers.
00:37Our thoughts remain with her family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
00:43At this point, there is still no information to suggest that this is a terrorism-related incident, and at this
00:49point we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this murder.
00:53We retain primacy of this investigation, and detectives remain open-minded about the potential motive.
