00:00Hey, some other thing that were kind of like frontline stories in the first half of the season was the
00:05ABS.
00:06Do you like what's happened?
00:08Do you think it's been a beneficial thing for baseball in speeding up the games?
00:14Yeah, you know, in terms of game speed, I don't necessarily know if it's like a net red or net
00:19positive in terms of kind of, you know, the acceleration of the game time.
00:22But I will say this in terms of why I love it.
00:25It holds players accountable.
00:27You can't really complain about, you know, a strike call that didn't go your way or a ball call that
00:33like, you know, you thought was should have been a ball, but ended up being a strike.
00:36You can argue it.
00:37You have the ability to do so.
00:39And if you can't argue it because you ran out of challenges, well, that's your team's fault to become more
00:44accountable for learning the zone.
00:45Same thing with the umpires behind the plate, because now I don't know if you saw the report earlier this
00:50week, but a lot of, you know, umpires are taking that early retirement bonus because they are at the bottom
00:56of Major League Baseball.
00:57In terms of calling accurate balls and strikes, finally, I feel like we're weeding out some of these old guys
01:02who just really can't call the zone correctly.
01:05And yeah, I think ABS is honestly a really good accountability factor for the sport.
