00:00People always assume that because you've been Doctor Who, you are somehow kept in the lip.
00:04I have no idea what's going on with it at all.
00:06So you just get kind of binned?
00:08Yeah.
00:10Hello, Peter. Happy to see you again.
00:12I love these polka dots. They are everything.
00:15Oh, thank you. They're a bit Dylan-esque.
00:16They're lovely. And you're next to your mates.
00:18Yeah, they're all suited up.
00:20Was that incredible when you got to...
00:21Oh, yeah, absolutely.
00:22Was it bucket list kind of stuff, performing at Glastonbury?
00:25I'd never really thought about it because I never really imagined such a thing would happen to me.
00:30So, and it was a mysterious and dreamlike.
00:33Even when I think about it, it's like a dream, really.
00:35I don't really think it really happened.
00:36It's so cool, isn't it?
00:38Have you been thinking about doing some music?
00:40Have I been thinking about it?
00:41Yeah, I've been doing some music.
00:43Which is probably how that happened, really, was because I had some...
00:46We have some mutual friends.
00:49And I had expressed in a rehearsal how much I was a fan of Franz Ferdinand.
00:54And I think they had transmitted that information back.
00:58And they just called me and said, did I want to play Glastonbury?
01:02That's nicer, you know, isn't it?
01:04Yeah, yeah.
01:04So, what music makes you really happy?
01:06Because, of course, we had Nordoff and Robbins tonight.
01:08All about music therapy.
01:09What makes you feel good?
01:12James.
01:13Oh.
01:14I absolutely love James.
01:18Franz Ferdinand.
01:19And your sandwich would be there, too.
01:20Yeah, between the two of them.
01:22Max Richter.
01:24Incredible.
01:24I've always loved Max Richter.
01:26I listened to so much of his music.
01:28He's incredible.
01:29David Graham.
01:30Oh.
01:31They're all here tonight.
01:33So, would you say that your music is going to be a bit of a smorgasbord of all that?
01:37Oh, for sure.
01:37A smorgasbord.
01:38That's a good name for an album.
01:39That could be a debut.
01:40That's a good name.
01:41That's a good name for you.
01:42Sophomore album.
01:43That's the whole band.
01:44Smorgasbord.
01:45You're trying to say it.
01:46It's like the German version.
01:47The European version.
01:48But isn't that wonderful?
01:49Are you excited about people hearing you sing?
01:51Or would it be a nerve-wracking thing?
01:53I don't care.
01:55Do you know, I mean, it's not like I'm trying to be a pop star or anything.
01:58So, it's irrelevant to me whether people...
02:00Nobody will listen to it anyway.
02:02I mean, I've had stuff, you know, people listen to it or they don't.
02:05But the important thing is to do it.
02:08That's all I just like doing.
02:10You know, when I was a kid, you had to be signed up to a record label and all.
02:14And now you can just...
02:16I make my music on my laptop.
02:18You know, it just goes out.
02:19Your TikTok style.
02:20It just goes out.
02:21Spotify or whatever those things are.
02:24I have to talk to you about your incredible performance, obviously, Doctor Who.
02:27Who would you like to be the next one?
02:30I don't know.
02:31I don't know.
02:34There's lots of people out there.
02:36I've always loved Frances De La Tour to be Doctor Who.
02:39I think she'd be a wonderful Doctor Who.
02:41Can you give a little word in?
02:42Eh?
02:43I don't...
02:44People always assume that because you've been Doctor Who, you are somehow kept in the league.
02:48I have no idea what's going on with them at all.
02:50So you just get kind of binned.
02:52Yeah.
02:54No.
02:54You don't get any gossip.
02:58Would you ever go back?
02:59No.
03:00No.
03:00That's done.
03:02Yeah, I just...
03:03Yeah.
03:03And in regards to genres and your acting, what else would you want to tick off the list?
03:07Because you've done a lot.
03:08We saw you in a very good kind of horror.
03:11You were a bit of a nasty boy.
03:12Never.
03:13I think I'd really like to do some...
03:15I haven't done any comedy for long.
03:16When I was young, I used to do mostly comedy.
03:19But now I've become a rather scary and dark, kind of complicated, grim figure.
03:26And I think I'm more cheerful than that.
03:28So I'd like to do some gags.
03:30I want to see you in Ted Lasso.
03:33What could I be?
03:34I always think I should be a manager of another team.
03:38A kind of grim sort of Scottish, lesbian, hard-bitten manager who's trouble.
03:44Or you could be a singer in the pub that they drink in.
03:48That's true.
03:49And of course, we just lost the wonderful Anthony Hayes.
03:51Oh, yeah.
03:52He was a wonderful man in the same world.
03:54Oh, absolutely.
03:55He was wonderful in that.
03:56And just finally, football.
03:57Will you be supporting England or will you be a bit done with that?
03:59I'm not interested in football.
04:00No?
04:00I don't care.
04:02Well, we're all so tired.
04:03We're not since three in the morning, are we going to say?
04:07That's the good thing about going out early, you lot.
04:09You haven't got to be tired.
04:10Thank you very much indeed, Peter.
04:11Great to see you.
04:12You're very well.
04:12Enjoy this evening.
04:14Lovely to meet you.
