Mumbai, Maharashtra: Veteran actor Shashi Ranjan, in an exclusive conversation with IANS, voiced his support for the film Satluj, calling it a brilliant film and stating that he did not find any part of it objectionable. Sharing his views, Ranjan said that banning films is not the right approach in today's time, as it only sparks greater curiosity among audiences, making them even more eager to find out what the film contains. He also praised the film's cast, saying that every actor has delivered a remarkable performance. Highlighting another consequence of film bans, Ranjan pointed out that such decisions only encourage piracy. He added that today, not only educated viewers but also people in rural areas can easily download banned content. According to him, instead of restricting the film, it would have been far better to provide it with a suitable platform, allowing audiences to watch it legally and form their own opinions.

04:23already available from everywhere in the world it doesn't make any sense to have censorship
04:29until and unless yes until and unless a film is made from the intention that it wants to create
04:36a rift in a society or it is anti-national i don't think this picture is anti-national
04:41i have a firm belief
04:51see censorship always in our country has been in a in a bone of contention
04:59that this has always been a semi government you know influenced рдПрдХ рдРрд╕реА рд╕рдВрд╕реНрддрд╛ рд╣реИ

05:33They are not really looking at a larger point
05:39that creativity should have the minimum censorship.
05:45It should come from within the filmmaker.
05:48I am not for any kind of vulgarity.
05:50I am not for any kind of provocative material
05:57which creates a kind of a rift in the society.
06:00I am a very responsible citizen
06:04and I want to tell with great responsibility
06:06that stories which tell truthfully the history of India,
06:12dark, grey, white, whatever, must be told.
06:16Sir, if you want to tell the audience about this line,
06:20then what do you want to tell us?
06:22That Sataluj is one of the most brilliant films,
06:26cinematically and otherwise,
06:28and everybody must watch this film.
06:31How do you want to see your opinion of controversy?
06:37Of course.
06:38You see, in today's date,
06:40you talk about controversy and controversy.
06:42You see, in the news channels,
06:44you see, how many debates are happening in the debate?
06:46Unfortunately.
06:47Unfortunately, this is a lot of international people who come to their religion, politics
06:57and also their views.
07:00This is a very bad trend.
07:02Today, we have a so-called chat show on the news channels.
07:09Some of the comments are horrible.
07:14Those people should never be allowed on television talking about the country, talking about the religion, talking about constitution.
07:21In the name of constitution, the kind of things they say.
07:24It's ridiculous.
07:25So I say film people are, you know, they are easy baits.
07:29In which I don't think it is fair.
07:36I was very, very upset when I came to know that the picture has been taken off.
07:40Sir, the question of the film is, whose role is your best?
07:44It's very difficult to say because everyone has a great role in itself.
07:50Diljeet has lived on that character.
07:54It was very surprising to me.
07:58Suvinder is a very good actor.
08:01However, every inch of his looks like a cop.
08:05Kavaljeet Singh was very good.
08:07And Arjun Rampal was a revolution.
08:10Arjun Rampal always has been competent in certain films and not very competent in many films.
08:15But this film, I think he was brilliant.
08:19But I can't say that the small characters, the mother's character, the lady, the girl who is in the end,
08:28the story of the green eyes, the stooge, Kamal.
08:33All the small characters in the film are so beautiful and so beautiful.
08:37I think Iskander, credit should go to the director, the way he has handled the actors.
08:43Sir, lastly, what should you give to your young audience?
08:48What should you give to your films?
08:49What should you give to your audience?
09:00And these things should not be repeated.
09:03It's a lesson not only for the country and the people.
09:07It is a lesson for our policing department also.
09:12That how the policing, you know, becomes larger than anything else in certain political influence.
09:21Sir, Diljeet's statement, after the film has been removed,
09:25Sir, that the people who cannot see and who cannot see, they can download it.
09:31So, what are you saying?
09:33People are saying that they are promoting piracy.
09:37I don't want to go into the discussion of piracy or not.
09:41I don't know if he has given a statement.
09:43So, I think he should be knowing that better.
09:46But so far as my contention is there, that this picture should be shown.
09:52If it's illegal, that the purpose will flop.
09:58If it's illegal, that the purpose will be wrong.
10:02That it's not that it's not that it is good.
10:03It's not that industry good.
10:04It's not that industry good.
10:05Why is it good for all?
10:06Who are we of theirs?
10:08We are a chance to do.
10:09That it's such a thing to do.
10:12We areтАж
10:12That it's a toughness, every thing.
10:27I find it very distasteful on the part of the government.
10:33I don't know, but the government has decided
10:34or whether the OTT platform himself has agreed to take it out.
10:40I don't know the real story.
10:41But as a filmmaker, as somebody who has been in the industry for far too long
10:47to understand this, that banning such films is not a good idea.
