Transcript
00:00It's a World Cup special where the beautiful game meets the ultimate machine.
00:05Yes, we've benched our celebrities to bring in three footballing titans ready to tackle our machine.
00:10Who will need more than just a good strike?
00:12This is Tipping Point New Zealand World Cup Special.
00:33Hello and welcome to Tipping Point World Cup Special where a trio of footballers try to take on my trivia
00:39trickery.
00:40Joining me today, Auckland FC's Francis DeFreeze, teammate Olly Sale and former all-white Rory Fallon.
00:47Great to have you lads on the show. Welcome.
00:50Thank you for having us.
00:51Francis, you've had a unique journey from the back to the top of the field. Tell us about that.
00:57Hopefully it doesn't mirror my journey in this today where it's going up and down a lot.
01:00I'm hoping for a little more success but it's been a wonderful last year and a half here in Auckland.
01:05Real pleasure to play in New Zealand again in front of the fans with some great teammates.
01:09Tell us who you're playing for and why.
01:11I'm playing for Centre Circle, a charity in Christchurch that provides access to football for young individuals
01:18that might not have the resources to get that from their home lives.
01:23Alright, good luck Francis. Olly, welcome to the show.
01:25Thank you for having me.
01:26You lads are very, very tall. Olly, when you're the goalie, do you feel like the goal's too small for
01:33you?
01:34Oh, never. I think it's too big most of the time.
01:36And do the players look tiny? Is that coming towards you?
01:39Sometimes they look tiny but they're the ones you've got to watch out for. They're the slippery little ones.
01:43You and Francis play for Auckland FC. What is that culture like? Give us a glimpse inside.
01:49The culture's amazing. It's completely centred around winning.
01:52It's an expectation from the outside and it's an expectation from us on the inside.
01:57So it's a pretty special place. It's a high pressure environment but it's enjoyable.
02:00Tell us who you're playing for and why.
02:02I'm playing for Kids Can. It's an organisation that ensures kids who aren't privileged or in times of poverty,
02:08they have clothing, education, food and I think it's something that all New Zealanders hold quite dear to their hearts.
02:14So that's who I'm representing.
02:15Excellent. Good luck.
02:16Rory, was it 15 years ago you booked the All Whites into that final on the world stage?
02:22Yeah.
02:23Does that memory still haunt you?
02:24It doesn't haunt me at all. I embrace it and I enjoyed it and I still get asked the questions,
02:30what it was like and what a time in football for me and my family.
02:33And, you know, the people that actually say, you know, I was sitting there, I was doing that, you know,
02:38they had that moment and I love listening to their stories, you know, so I never get sick of it.
02:43You've gone from player to now coaching.
02:46Yeah.
02:46What's the one advice you give to players out there when you're in that role as a coach?
02:50It's not all the glitz and glamour and it's a lot of hard work and it takes a long time,
02:55you know,
02:55for me to get that just one goal for people to remember, I was like 26 years old so there
03:01was a lot of training
03:02before I even got that opportunity to be in the arena.
03:05It doesn't happen overnight, it's hard work, every day, perseverance and never giving up in your dream.
03:10Tell us who you're playing for and why.
03:12I'm playing for I Am Hope, they provide free counselling for young people.
03:16It's got a soft place in my heart.
03:18They aim to normalise mental health conversations so hopefully I'm going to get all the money for that.
03:23Now, three deserving charities, three highly competitive players, it's time to play Bank Builder.
03:32So, Bank Builder's your chance to build some serious cash lads.
03:35In this round, you each start with three counters.
03:36If you buzz in with the correct answer, you have a choice.
03:39You can choose to play one of your counters into the machine or if you don't think the counters in
03:43the machine
03:43are at that crucial tipping point, you can get one of your opponents to play theirs instead.
03:47Every counter that drops out of the machine, I'll add $50 to your score.
03:51The player with the most money at the end of the show will go through to play for our jackpot
03:55final,
03:56which is $10,000, potentially $20,000 for your charity.
04:01Here's why.
04:02Inside is the double counter.
04:04I'll push that out, I'll double the value of your drop.
04:06There are also two mystery counters nestled in there.
04:09Get those out and you win a mystery surprise.
04:11One catch though.
04:13If you give me the wrong answer or you don't answer within three seconds,
04:17I'll take a counter away from you.
04:19Everybody ready?
04:19Yes.
04:20You all look terrified.
04:21We've got this.
04:23Hands on your buzzer.
04:25Really?
04:26Yeah.
04:27Rory, you've got this.
04:28Here comes your first question.
04:30What plant is on the All Whites logo?
04:34Ollie.
04:35A fern.
04:36It is.
04:37A silver fern.
04:38Well done, Ollie.
04:39You get to have a choice now.
04:40Do you want to play or pass?
04:42I will pass my counter.
04:44Oh, early tactic.
04:46Who would you like to pass it to, Francis or Rory?
04:48I'll give it to Rory.
04:49Okay, fair enough.
04:50I'll take it.
04:51I'll take the gift.
04:52Rory, you have no choice.
04:52You have to take it.
04:55Where would you like to go, Rory?
04:56One, please.
04:56Light up.
04:57Drop zone one, please.
05:01Rory, this is where you press the buzzer, but the timing is crucial.
05:05Just keep an eye on how those shelves are moving.
05:10Bounces around.
05:11Lands in the middle.
05:12There's a cluster there on the top shelf.
05:13Keep an eye on that.
05:14We need them to drop onto the bottom shelf.
05:17Will they?
05:18Oh, here we are.
05:20Here we go.
05:21Ollie.
05:21Get in, Ollie.
05:23Ollie.
05:24Ollie.
05:24Ollie.
05:25Was it the right decision?
05:26I'm giving you the assist.
05:28I'm giving them the assist.
05:29Ollie, any regrets?
05:31Oh, yeah.
05:31Deep, deep, deep regret.
05:33Don't think that was the play.
05:35Rory, you're off to a flyer.
05:3613 counters drop into the win zone.
05:39That's $650 into the machine.
05:40Let's take that from the machine, add that to your bank.
05:43Giving props to my man here.
05:45You also pushed out the mystery counter.
05:47Would you like to see what you've won?
05:48I would love to see it.
05:49You have won.
05:53An underwater disposable camera.
05:56Say cheese.
05:57You'll be snapping up all the hot bits with this underwater disposable camera.
06:03Yes.
06:04Oh, nice.
06:04I'll take it.
06:05I saw someone roll out with a mug, so I was like, I don't want to win that.
06:09Rory, my face is on the mug.
06:13Well, I never saw your face on it, so.
06:18You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you.
06:20Jeez, Rory.
06:21Let's move on to our next question.
06:23What does the acronym WAGS stand for?
06:27Francis.
06:29Wife and girlfriend.
06:30It is indeed.
06:31Wives and girlfriends.
06:33Better go.
06:34That was quick.
06:35Nicely done, Francis.
06:36You get to play or pass.
06:38Drop zone two, please.
06:39Oh, you're going to play.
06:40Light up.
06:41Drop zone two, please, for Francis.
06:49Francis goes in hard with the buzzer.
06:51It pays off.
06:52The counter is flat.
06:53Keep an eye on those counters on the top edge.
06:56Oh, no.
06:57One drop.
06:58No, you might get it on here.
06:59You're getting a head on.
07:01There you go.
07:02Francis, two counters drop into the wind zone.
07:04It's $100.
07:05Let's take that from the machine.
07:06Add that to your bank.
07:08You have two counters left.
07:09As do you, Rory.
07:10Oli, you still have all three.
07:11Here comes your next question.
07:13Which Welsh football club does Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds...
07:17Rory.
07:19Wrexham.
07:19It is Wrexham AFC.
07:21Where would you like to go?
07:23A one, please.
07:24It's worked for you.
07:25Light up drop zone one, please.
07:26I thought you might return the charity.
07:28Oli was hoping for a return favour, but no.
07:34So, Rory's here to win.
07:36Let's keep an eye on these counters.
07:38Will it just squeeze into that gap?
07:40Couple drop onto the bottom shelf.
07:42Will we get any into the wind zone?
07:46Oh, Rory.
07:47Lucky I didn't give it to you.
07:49Well, I might not have gone one.
07:51Nothing there for you, unfortunately.
07:52Rory, you have one last counter to play.
07:54Yeah.
07:55Oli, you still have all three.
07:56Francis, you have two counters to play.
07:57Here comes your next question.
07:58As of 2026, in the FIFA World Cup,
08:01how many seconds is a goalkeeper allowed to hold the ball?
08:06Oli?
08:06Eight seconds.
08:07It is eight seconds, Oli.
08:09Well done.
08:10I was a bit worried.
08:11I should know that.
08:12Of all three players, Oli, I was like,
08:14you better come in, Rory, with this.
08:16Now, do you want to play or pass?
08:18I'll play this one.
08:19You will play.
08:19Where would you like to go?
08:20Drop zone one, two, three, or four?
08:21I'll go for three, please.
08:23Light up drop zone three, please, for Oli.
08:32Counter spits out.
08:33Timing is great.
08:34Can we get any counters over the top?
08:36Yeah, go on.
08:36Oh, just the one.
08:38Just the one.
08:38I think you might get a bunch, yeah?
08:40Keep an eye on this.
08:41Little push.
08:41There we go.
08:42Nicely done, Oli.
08:43Two counters dropped for you, Oli, in the win zone.
08:46That's $100.
08:46Let's take that from the machine.
08:47Add that to your bank.
08:49Welcome to the game.
08:50You're on the board.
08:51All right, Francis and Oli, you have two counters left.
08:54Rory, you have one last counter.
08:55Here comes your next question.
08:57What is the name of the TV series that American actor Jason Sudeikis created about a British
09:03football team?
09:05Oli.
09:06Yeah.
09:06It is.
09:08Oh, it's the American one.
09:10I need an answer.
09:11I need an answer, Oli.
09:13Oh, no.
09:15Oli.
09:15Oh, no.
09:16I can picture it in my head.
09:18It's sitting right there.
09:19Ted Lasso.
09:20Ted is.
09:21Yeah, it is.
09:21Ted Lasso.
09:21Oli.
09:22I'm afraid I'm going to take the counter from you.
09:25Unfortunately, leaves you with one counter to play.
09:27Same as Rory.
09:28Francis, you still have two counters.
09:30Brush it off, lads.
09:31Here comes your next question.
09:32What was the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup by Colombian singer Shakira?
09:38Francis.
09:40Waving Flag.
09:42No, great.
09:43Francis, it was Waka Waka.
09:44Waka, yeah.
09:45I actually knew that, but it was quick.
09:48Oh, you were there, mate.
09:49It was quick.
09:50It was too quick for me.
09:50It was Waka Waka, this time for Africa.
09:53Released in May 2010, it became the best-selling World Cup song ever, with 10 million-plus downloads.
09:59Francis, I have to take the counter from you.
10:01That leaves you with one counter.
10:03In fact, it leaves you all with one last counter.
10:06Here comes your next question.
10:07What is an adult male sheep called?
10:12Oli.
10:13Oli.
10:13A you.
10:15Oli.
10:16Male sheep.
10:18There's a ram.
10:19Oh.
10:20There's you for the female.
10:21Yeah, absolutely.
10:23Sadly, Oli, I'm going to have to take that last counter from you, which means you have no
10:28more counters to play in this round.
10:30You will sit the rest of it out.
10:31Francis and Rory still have one counter.
10:34Here comes your next question.
10:35How many days long is a leap here?
10:39Francis.
10:41Three hundred and sixty-four.
10:45Francis.
10:46Three hundred and sixty-six.
10:46I know this one as well.
10:47I know it.
10:48Three hundred and sixty-six.
10:50Oh, I went on the wrong way, didn't I?
10:52Again, I'm going to take that last counter of yours.
10:56You two will sit out the rest of the round.
10:58Francis, Rory comes down to you with one last counter.
11:01Now, you don't have to buzz in.
11:02I just need the correct answer.
11:04Okay, cool.
11:05Who was the first person to walk on the moon?
11:09Neil Armstrong?
11:10It was Neil Armstrong.
11:12Where would you like to go?
11:13Drop zone one, two, three, or four?
11:15Four, please.
11:16Light up drop zone four, please.
11:19Rory tested the waters in drop zone one.
11:24And now he's going the other end, drop zone four.
11:27I feel that's a good one.
11:29Can we get some off the top shelf?
11:31Oh, no.
11:32Or has it just filled a gap?
11:35Went in the gap.
11:36So, lads, at the end of this round, Francis and Ollie on $100.
11:41Out in the lead for now, Rory, $650.
11:45They've got the goals on the score sheet.
11:47And after the break, we're turning up the temperature with Quickfire.
11:51Don't go away.
12:02Welcome back to our Tipping Point World Cup special with Auckland FC's Francis DeFreeze,
12:07teammate Ollie Sale and former all-white Rory Fallon have swapped their boots for brains
12:12as they compete to win $10,000, potentially $20,000 for their charity.
12:17Guys, it's time to play Quickfire.
12:22In this round, you'll each have 30 seconds to answer as many questions as possible.
12:26Every correct answer wins you a counter to play into the machine, and that is crucial
12:29because the player with the lowest amount of money at the end of this round will be going home.
12:35Rory, you're in the lead with $650.
12:36You have a choice.
12:38You can play your 30 seconds or pass it to Ollie or Francis.
12:41I'll go first.
12:42All right.
12:42Can we get 30 seconds on the clock for Rory?
12:45Your 30 seconds starts now.
12:49How old do you have to be to vote in the New Zealand general election?
12:5118.
12:52Correct.
12:52What is the mythical creature that the Wellington Football Club is named after?
12:56Phoenix.
12:56Correct.
12:57Kakariki is the Maori word for which colour?
13:01Kakariki.
13:02Pass.
13:03Green.
13:03What is in the middle of a chocolate fish?
13:06Marshmallow.
13:07Correct.
13:07Which comic strip character created by Eliget has a dog called Snowy?
13:12Uh, Tintin.
13:13Correct.
13:14The Penny Farthing is an early example of what form of transport?
13:16Bike.
13:17Correct.
13:18Witch.
13:19Well done, Rory.
13:20Do you want to know how many you got right?
13:22How many?
13:23Five correct answers.
13:25I'll take that.
13:26That's five counters to play.
13:27Yeah, cool.
13:28Where should we go, Rory?
13:29Uh, let's go four, please.
13:31Light up drop zone four, please.
13:38Bounces around, lands on the left.
13:39Bit of a gap there.
13:41Or will it just nudge some counters off the top?
13:43Oh, here we go.
13:45Brilliant.
13:45Push going on.
13:46Let's just see if we can get a cluster here.
13:50Oh, nailed it.
13:51There's going to be none left for us by the time we get to our turn.
13:55Big drop.
13:56Twelve counters drop out.
13:57That gives you a total of $600.
13:59Let's leave that in the machine because you have four more counters to play.
14:02Where would you like to go?
14:03Four, please, again.
14:04Light up drop zone four, please.
14:08Rory, persevering.
14:08He wants that cluster from the bottom shelf.
14:14Yeah, that's a good drop.
14:15Can we get some more over onto the bottom shelf?
14:18Yes, we can.
14:19Yeah, that's a good drop.
14:20Oh, there it is.
14:21Brilliant.
14:22There we go.
14:22Here we go.
14:23Nice.
14:24Oh, yeah.
14:25They just keep falling.
14:27Rory, another five drop out.
14:29$850.
14:30That's far.
14:31Three counters to play, my friend.
14:33Where would you like to go?
14:34Let's try three.
14:36Light up drop zone three, please.
14:39Bit of a shift here.
14:41I'm just going to wait for it to...
14:42Yes, you're waiting for that shaft just to come out again.
14:45Shot clock violation.
14:46Yeah, yeah.
14:47A shot clock violation.
14:51Oh, that's landed okay.
14:54I wanted it to kind of go to the left a bit.
14:57If we can get a couple of counters over.
14:59Oh, wow.
15:00Here we go.
15:02Let's just watch this.
15:03Oh, yes.
15:04Rory Fallon on a roll here.
15:08Sorry.
15:09Another ten counters drop out.
15:11That's $500.
15:12Adding that to your total.
15:13$1,350.
15:15And still two counters to play.
15:17Where would you like to go?
15:18Number two, please.
15:19We're shuffling along.
15:20Light up drop zone two, please.
15:28You sure know where to place them, Rory.
15:31Great drop.
15:31Let's see if we can get some more counters to drop.
15:34Can we?
15:35Oh.
15:35Okay, now go ahead.
15:36Here it comes.
15:37Come on.
15:37Here we go.
15:38Make it rain.
15:39Oh.
15:41It is raining counters.
15:43Is there going to be any left?
15:44No.
15:45Do you guys restock it or not?
15:47Yeah.
15:47Possible to get some more counters somewhere?
15:49Oh.
15:50Rory, I know 16 counters, which gives you $800.
15:54Look at that total.
15:55$2,150.
15:57And you still have one last counter to play.
15:59You're going to shuffle over to drop zone one?
16:01No.
16:01No, I'm going to stick with two, please.
16:03You're going to stick with drop zone two?
16:05Light up drop zone two, please.
16:12It's flat, which is great.
16:14The question is, will you leave anything for Ollie and Francis?
16:18Will you?
16:19Oh, there.
16:20Set it up nice.
16:21Yeah, whoever's getting that's in.
16:23Whoever's getting this next one, eh?
16:24A little parting gift there for Rory.
16:27There's a bit more space for gifts down here if you want a sneaky bank transfer.
16:31That's my assist.
16:32Nothing there, Rory, but look at that total in the machine.
16:35$2,150.
16:37Let's transfer that to your bank.
16:38$2,800 is your total at the moment.
16:42Rory may be starting to take control of the game, but I sense Francis and Ollie might
16:47be manifesting a momentum shift for when we return.
16:50See you back here after the break.
17:02Welcome back to our Tipping Point World Cup special, where Francis De Vries, Ollie
17:06Savage, Rory Fallon, and playing for bragging rights, and more importantly, charity.
17:10We're in the middle of quick fire.
17:12Rory out with a commanding lead.
17:14$2,800.
17:15Ollie and Francis, mountain to climb here.
17:18You're equal on $100.
17:19Ollie, because you answered in the first round first, and it was right, you get to play this
17:24round.
17:25Do you want to play your 30 seconds first, or do you want to hand it over to Francis?
17:28I will pass it along to Francis.
17:31Francis, what do you make of that?
17:32Tactics.
17:33Smart.
17:34Would have done the same thing.
17:35All right.
17:36Can we put 30 seconds on the clock for Francis?
17:39Your 30 seconds starts now.
17:42Star Wars was created by which filmmaker?

25:36Light up drop zone three, please.
25:39I see what you're seeing.
25:41That cluster there.
25:42Now I've got to do the Rory wait.
25:47The Rory wait.
25:47The Rory wait.
25:49The Rory wait.
25:49Here we go.
25:54Ollie learned his lesson just to be patient, and it's paid off.
25:58The counter is flat.
25:59Can we knock some over onto that bottom shell?
26:03Nothing there, unfortunately.
26:05One more counter to play.
26:07I'll stick with drop zone three, Daniel.

26:14Come on, you got this.
26:15This is it, Ollie.

26:18This is critical.
26:19Oh, it's gone.
26:19It's the wrong side.
26:20Three counters we need to get over to equal with Francis, Ollie.
26:24Can we do it?
26:25Can we?
26:28Oh, how on earth is that hanging there still?
26:31Nothing there for you.
26:33So, $550 is your total in the machine.
26:36Let's transfer that to your bank.
26:39At the end of the round, looking at the scores, Ollie on 650, Francis on 800, Rory, well out
26:45in the lead, $2,800.
26:47Ollie, I'm afraid you've got the lowest amount in your bank balance.
26:51We have to say goodbye to you.
26:52Unfortunately, we found your tipping point.
26:55Remind us again who you're playing for.
26:57Kids Can.
26:57Kids Can.
26:58We're not letting you go empty-handed, Ollie.
27:00We're going to donate $500 to Kids Can.
27:03It has been a pleasure having you on the show.
27:05Hope you've enjoyed it.
27:06Absolutely.
27:07Thank you for having me.
27:08Three become two, and after the break, we'll move even closer to finding out who is the
27:12finest thinker in football and whether they can grab that $10,000, potentially $20,000
27:17for their charity.
27:18Don't go away.
27:29No, my hockey, my.
27:30Welcome back to our tipping point World Cup special.
27:33Yes, they've swapped the field for the studio.
27:35Rory Fallon and Francis DeFreeze remain battling it out for a chance to win $10,000, potentially
27:41$20,000 because the double counter is still in there.
27:45Rory, commandingly, $2,800.
27:49Francis, $800 is your total at the moment.
27:52Bit of a mountain to climb.
27:54Two deserving charities.
27:56Two great players.
27:57It's time to go head-to-head.
28:00All right, in this round, you're each going to be asked two questions.
28:03On your question, you can choose to play or pass it to your opponent.
28:06If you give me the correct answer, you win a counter to play into the machine.
28:10If you give me the wrong answer, your opponent steals the counter and plays it into the machine.
28:15This round is important because the person with the most money at the end of this round
28:19will go through to play for our $10,000 jackpot, potentially $20,000.
28:24Rory, here comes your first question.
28:26Which New Zealand women's sports team shared a group hug with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace?
28:35I would have no idea.
28:37Do you think Francis might have an idea?
28:39I reckon he would.
28:40I've pressed his buzzer.
28:42He has to answer it now.
28:43Francis is saying he's buzzing you again.
28:45I don't have a clue.
28:46So I'm going to pass over to Franny.
28:49I'm battling a little bit here as well.
28:51Yeah.
28:51I think I have a couple of ideas.
28:53Okay.
28:54So, shall we just go with my first instinct?
28:56Yes.
28:56Yeah.
28:57Black Ferns, New Zealand women's rugby team.
29:00Why the Black Ferns?
29:01Because they are pretty renowned around the world.
29:04They achieve a lot and they would be the kind of team that would be invited to Buckingham Palace.
29:08And give King Charles a big hug.
29:11He seems like a decent fella.
29:12Why not?
29:14So we're locking in the Black Ferns?
29:16Yes.
29:17Lock it in.
29:18Shall we ask the machine?
29:19Yeah.
29:19Let's have a look.
29:20Was it the Black Ferns who shared a group hug with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace?
29:29Well, I'm Francis.
29:30Thank you very much.
29:31You steal Rory's counter.
29:33Where would you like to go?
29:34Drop zone two, please.
29:36All right.
29:36Light up drop zone two, please.
29:43Drops down on the left.
29:45Don't forget, the double counter is underneath those counters on the bottom shelf.
29:49But can we get any from the top shelf?
29:51Yes, we can.
29:53Lucky, lucky.
29:54Let's just hope the luck continues.
29:56Can we get any out?
29:58Oh, it just squeezes into that gap.
30:01Francis.
30:02It's a teaser, isn't it?
30:03Yeah, it is.
30:03It's a teaser.
30:04It's a real nice.
30:05Francis, here comes your first question.
30:07Which country does professional footballer Cristiano Ronaldo come from?
30:13I think if I didn't choose to answer this question, I would be laughed out of the changing room, so
30:18I'm going to have to take it.
30:20Do you think Rory will know this?
30:23Yeah, yeah.
30:24I'm not going to offend you by saying that you don't know.
30:28He comes from Portugal.
30:29Do you want to lock that in?
30:30Yes, please.
30:31Is Cristiano Ronaldo the professional footballer from Portugal?
30:37On a roll, Francis.
30:41Drop zone two, please.
30:42Sticking with drop zone two, let's persevere.
30:45Light up, mate.
30:45Drop zone two, please.
30:46That's true, yeah.
30:50Go to the right.
30:51Yes.
30:52Good, you.
30:53Oh, that's a good one, buddy.
30:55That's where we need it.
30:56That is exactly where we need it, Francis.
30:58Can we get that cluster over?
30:59Oh, what?
31:00Spoke too soon.
31:01Spoke too soon.
31:03Unlucky, Francis.
31:05Rory, your second and last question.
31:08Who is New Zealand's first Olympic BMX medalist?
31:16Ah, no, I don't know.
31:17Do you think Francis knows the answer?
31:20Franny is a very smart boy.
31:21I wouldn't put it past him to know it.
31:23I mean, is that a poker face he's got on right now?
31:25Yeah, hmm.
31:26Hey, you're looking at me thinking, a bit of a grin.
31:28I think he knows.
31:29I think he actually knows.
31:30You think he knows.
31:31All right, so you want to pass it on to Francis?
31:32I'm going to have to, because I don't know.
31:34All right.
31:35Francis, do you know?
31:36I honestly don't know any BMX bikers, so...
31:39Was this a great pass, Rory?
31:42Yes, it looks like it is.
31:43I do need an answer from you, Francis.
31:46Can I just say a random name?
31:48A nice classic Kiwi name.
31:50Michael.
31:51Michael.
31:53You're going to give me a surname as well?
31:55Why don't we go with Jones?
31:57Michael Jones.
31:58Michael Jones.
31:59Michael Jones.
32:00We're going to lock in Michael Jones.
32:02The famous all-black.
32:03That is Michael Jones.
32:05New Zealand's first Olympic BMX medalist.
32:10She's going to go down here for this one.
32:12Michael Jones.
32:15No, it was Sarah Walker.
32:17Oh, yeah.
32:18Oh, dear.
32:20Rory, you win the counter yet to play?
32:22Where would you like to go?
32:24I'm going to go four.
32:25Light up drop zone four, please.
32:28When you're ready.
32:33Bounces around.
32:34It settles, which is great.
32:36Will it just fill that gap, though, Rory?
32:40No, it didn't even touch the sides.
32:42Francis, here comes your last question.
32:45What sport do the wheelblacks play?
32:49We're in the Paralympics here,
32:50and I'm going to say wheelchair basketball.
32:54That's your final answer?
32:56That is my final answer.
32:57Do the wheelblacks play wheelchair basketball?
33:04No.
33:06Wheelchair rugby.
33:08Unfortunately, you lose that counter to Rory.
33:11Rory, you get to play this last counter into the machine.
33:14Where are you looking?
33:15Can I go number four, please?
33:16Light up drop zone four, please.
33:22Bounces around.
33:23Drops to the right.
33:25You've got a good one, yeah.
33:26Let's just keep an eye on this.
33:27Can we get any more counters over?
33:29No.
33:30One counter drops.
33:31Can we get this cluster into the wind zone?
33:33Use the wall.
33:34Use the wall.
33:34Yes.
33:36Rory, three counters drop into the wind zone.
33:38It's $150.
33:39Let's take that from the machine.
33:40Add that to your bank.
33:43$2,950 is your total now.
33:46Francis, $800 for you.
33:49Unfortunately, that means we've found your tipping point.
33:54Still, record-breaking eight correct answers in the quickfire round.
33:57That was truly impressive.
33:59Remind us again who you were playing for.
34:01Playing for Centre Circle in Christchurch.
34:04Helping young kids enjoy the beautiful game of football
34:07that aren't otherwise able to play it.

34:19Thank you, and good luck in the final round.
34:20Thank you for having me.
34:22Brilliant.
34:22Well, time for a break, but when we return,
34:24our champion, Rory Fallon, is going to play
34:26for a potential $10,000, even $20,000.
34:31I've got a good feeling about this.
34:32Don't go anywhere.
34:43Well, welcome back to the final round
34:45of our Tipping Point World Cup special

35:29for each category.
35:30You get to choose to play one, two, or three counters.
35:32The more counters you play into the machine,
35:34the harder the question's going to be.
35:36However, the more you win,
35:38the easier it should be to push that jackpot counter out.
35:41So, you've had a look at the machine.
35:43Where would you like to drop the jackpot counter?
35:45I'm feeling good about one,
35:46because one was where it all began,
35:48so I'm going to go one, please.
35:50Light up drop zone one, please.
35:57Look at that.
36:01It's settled.
36:02It's flat, which is a great start.
36:05And nicely placed in the middle.
36:07Now, can we get some more hash?
36:11For I Am Hope, a great start.
36:13Three counters out.
36:14That's $150.
36:15Adding that to your total, $3,100.
36:18Shall we take a look at your five question categories?
36:21They are TV shows, food and drink,
36:24film, science, and football.
36:27You can choose in any order,
36:28and also just how many counters you want to play for.
36:31Are there any there that you think you're stronger at?
36:33Definitely football and film.
36:35OK, so which one do you want to start with first?
36:37Let's go football first.
36:38Football for how many counters?
36:40Let's go three.
36:41Three counters?
36:42Yeah.
36:42All right, football.
36:43For three counters, here comes your question.
36:45As of 2025, which country has won the most FIFA World Cup titles?
36:51Brazil, Argentina, or France?
36:54Brazil.
36:56OK, so we're going to lock in Brazil.
36:58Brazil, please.
36:59All right, let's ask the machine.
37:00Which country has won the most FIFA World Cup titles?
37:05Is it Brazil?
37:08You're absolutely right, Rory.
37:12Five times that won the World Cup title.
37:14Well done.
37:15Three counters to play.
37:16Drop zone one?
37:17Please.
37:18Light up drop zone one, please.
37:21In the middle.
37:22That's where we want it.
37:27Bounces around to the net.
37:29It's lit, which is great.
37:31Might nudge those counters off the top shelf.
37:34Yes, it does.
37:35Keep an eye on the bottom shelf.
37:36Some extra cash for I Am Hope.
37:39Yes, indeed.
37:40Another three counters drop out, Rory.
37:43That adds to your total.
37:443,252 more counters to play.
37:47Drop zone one?
37:47Yes, please.
37:48Light up drop zone one, please.
37:55Oh, not bad.
37:56Yeah, I'm happy with that.
37:58Not bad.
38:00Oh, it's just hit the side, though.
38:02Please.
38:02One counter drops.
38:04Yeah, to go bang in the middle, eh?
38:06I think so.
38:08Whee!
38:09Oh, that's going to just...
38:10Let's just keep an eye on this.
38:11Everything counts now.
38:12So this drop may get us more.
38:15Not to worry, it's just riding.
38:17Another two counters drop out.
38:20Look at that total.
38:213,350.
38:23One last counter.
38:24Okay.
38:24One, please.
38:25Light up drop zone one, please.
38:28Here we go.
38:30Big push by Rory.
38:34Will that nudge our jackpot counter?
38:38Oh, again, it just kisses the side of it.
38:42It's nudged it a little bit closer to the edge of that top shelf.
38:46Four more categories to go.
38:48TV shows, food and drink, film and science.
38:50And for how many counters?
38:52Let's go film, please.
38:53Yeah, for three.
38:54For three.
38:55In Back to the Future, what type of car is used as the time machine?
39:01DeLorean, Mustang or an Aston Martin?
39:04DeLorean.
39:05I've seen it a few times, actually.
39:07Michael J. Fox.
39:07Yeah, it's a great film.
39:08And a great car, too.
39:10Yeah, yeah, great car, yeah.
39:11Absolute classic.
39:11Actually, I brought my little girl one of the Lego ones.
39:14So DeLorean, yeah.
39:15Going to lock in DeLorean.
39:17All right.
39:17Is the type of car in Back to the Future a DeLorean?
39:22On a roll.
39:24300.
39:24I'm feeling it, yeah.
39:25Sticking with drop zone one?
39:26Yes, please.
39:27Light up drop zone one, please.
39:31Rory doesn't muck around.
39:34Bangs that buzzer hard.
39:36And it seems to have worked.
39:37Watch that jackpot counter.
39:39That looks good.
39:39That looks good.
39:41No, that's close.
39:42So good.
39:42It's close.
39:43It's very close.
39:45Yeah.
39:46Some more money for I Am Hope.
39:48Another six counters.
39:50Rory, that's $300.
39:51We've added that to the total.
39:52Look at that.
39:533,650.
39:55Two more counters to play.
39:56Sticking with drop zone one?
39:57Yes, please.

40:11She's down, Rory.
40:12That's great.
40:15And it's riding, but not to worry.
40:18We've got it onto the bottom shelf.
40:20Okay.
40:20But is it not a problem when it goes on top of another?
40:24Oh.
40:25A little bit of a challenge, Rory.
40:26Yeah, a little bit of a challenge, but nothing weird.
40:28Yeah, I like a challenge.

40:43Light up drop zone one, please.
40:51Bounces all over the place.
40:52Lands towards the right.
40:54Will it just fill this gap?
40:57Yep.
40:58Yeah, just getting it closer.
41:00Setting up.
41:01Setting it up.
41:03Oh.
41:04It's the ghost.
41:06It is the ghost.
41:08Can we get some more for I Am Hope?
41:12Yes, we can.
41:13Yes.
41:14We'll carry those over.
41:15Let's take a look at your last three remaining categories.
41:18TV shows, food and drink, and science.
41:20Where would you like to go?
41:21TV shows, please.
41:22For how many?
41:23Three.
41:23All right, TV shows for three counters.
41:26Young Sheldon is a prequel spin-off of which American TV show?
41:31Doogie Howser, M.D., The Big Bang Theory, or Eight Simple Rules?
41:37I'm going to go Big Bang Theory, please.
41:39How do you know?
41:40To be fair, I wasn't a big, avid fan of watching it, but I know of it, and I know
41:45the character.
41:46Yes.
41:47So, Big Bang Theory.
41:48Okay.
41:49Let's ask the machine.
41:51Is Young Sheldon a prequel spin-off of the show The Big Bang Theory?

42:02Drop zone one?
42:03Yes, please.
42:04Light up drop zone one, please.
42:07In the middle, Rory, I reckon.
42:13Oh, brilliant.
42:15Placed it nicely.
42:16Keep an eye on this, Rory, because this...
42:19Oh, have I spoken too soon?
42:21Just moved.
42:22I think one more middle one, though.
42:24It could push.
42:24Yes.
42:26All right, nothing there, Rory.
42:28Do you want to stick with drop zone one?
42:29Yes, please.

43:13Rory, could this be it?
43:14Watch that jackpot counter.
43:16Oh, my God.
43:21That was so close.
43:22I probably would have done it like a victory lap if I nailed that.
43:25If the dance drop out, will you do a victory lap?
43:27Yeah, 100%.
43:27Okay.
43:28I'm going to hold you to that.

43:57Marmalade.
43:58Coronation chicken, egg and creas.
44:01Marmalade, please.
44:02Just like that.
44:04Paddington Bear's so famous, especially in the UK when I was there for a long time playing football.
44:08So, when I go over to the UK to see my little girl, I stop off at Paddington Station and
44:13there's a little Paddington Bear.
44:15He's got his marmalade with him and I've watched the movie as well.
44:18All right, let's lock in marmalade.
44:21Is marmalade Paddington Bear's favourite sandwich filling?
44:26Oh my gosh, Rory.
44:29Do you know this could be it?
44:30I know.
44:31I think it's going to go down these next three.
44:33Three counters to play.
44:35Jackpot counter right on the edge.

44:41Light up drop zone one?
44:42Yes, please.
44:43Light up drop zone one, please.
44:54Not bad, Rory, because take a look at those counters in the middle.
