00:00Paging all doctors, Shortland Street's favourite stars have stepped away from
00:04the operating table and onto the shelf. No triage here, just high-stakes stops
00:09and a $10,000 jackpot. This is Celebrity Tipping Point, New Zealand.
00:32Hello and welcome to Celebrity Tipping Point, New Zealand, where our Shortland Street stars
00:37will need more than a stethoscope to find the tipping point for a chance to win tens of
00:41thousands of dollars, possibly $20,000 for their charities. Joining me today, Ria Vandivis,
00:47Michael Gelvin and Kim Crossman. Welcome to you all. Ria, you played Dr. Harper for more
00:56than a decade. I did. What was that like, to say goodbye to such a significant character
01:01of your life? Having to say goodbye to her in death was really, really difficult, actually.
01:07You know, it was 12 years of my life. Is there ever a real-life moment where you're
01:10in an emergency and people recognise you and say to you, Dr. Harper, get in there?
01:16That has definitely happened before. I was running the Auckland Marathon and quite close
01:20to the start, someone fell over and, like, hit their head on the ground. And because I
01:24was there, they were like, please, can you help? And I was like, I'm not actually a doctor.
01:28Yeah. Tell us who you're playing for and why. I live on the beautiful island of Waiheke and
01:32so I'm playing for the Waiheke Resource Trust. They work to educate and support people in
01:36environmental restoration, food resilience and waste minimisation, which at the moment
01:41is more important than ever. Michael, 1992, I read you auditioned for Shortland Street.
01:47Yes. And is it true you predicted it'd only last for 12 months?
01:51And that was the prediction that everyone had. Everyone hated the first episode. So
01:55we all kind of thought, well, we'd been told that we'd have the job for at least three
01:59months. So we thought, OK, well, three months' work is good. But then slowly after the first
02:03three months, it started to kind of get a following and here we are.
02:07Three decades on.
02:08Three decades.
02:09Three decades on.
02:10And you are the longest-serving doctor on the show.
02:13Yeah, by a couple of decades.
02:14Yes.
02:14Tell us who you're playing for and why.
02:16I am playing for Dementia Wellington. They serve the greater Wellington area, giving just
02:22all kinds of fantastic support to the whānau and friends of people with dementia. My mum
02:27has dementia. She is being looked after by the wonderful people at the Buchanan Ward
02:32at Village in the Park. Yeah, so big shout out to them.
02:35Kim, you were just a teenager when you debuted on Shortland Street.
02:40Take us back to that time. What was that like?
02:43So magical. Obviously, I had some amazing people who were very kind and took care of
02:48me. I vomited the whole first day, which is now commonly known as anxiety. But back then
02:54it didn't really have a name coined to it. So I was so nervous, but so happy. I loved every
03:01single minute of it.
03:02Tell us who you're playing for and why.
03:04I'm playing for the Faux Foundation, helping fund research into mental health and women's
03:09health. I've been through a fertility and miscarriage journey myself. So I wanted to get behind
03:14them and help move the needle forward for everyone in Aotearoa.
03:17Three deserving charities. It's time to play Bank Builder.
03:22So Bank Builder is your chance to build some serious cash. In this round, you'll each start
03:26with three counters. If you buzz in with the correct answer, you have a choice. You can
03:29choose to play one of your counters into the machine. Or if you don't think the counters
03:33in the machine are at that crucial tipping point, you can get one of your opponents to
03:37play theirs instead. Every counter you get out of the machine, I'll add $50 to your score,
03:41and the player with the most money at the end of the show will go through to play for
03:46$10,000 jackpot for your charity. $20,000 possibly. And here's why. Inside the machine
03:52is one doubled counter. Push that over, and I will double the value of your entire drop.
03:57Also, you'll see two mystery counters are buried in there. Push those out, and you will win
04:01a mystery surprise. One last thing from me. If you don't answer within three seconds,
04:06or you give me the wrong answer, I'm afraid I'm going to have to take one of your counters
04:10away from you. I thought you were going to say you were going to electrocute us.
04:14Yeah, yeah. Not yet, Michael. That is our second round.
04:18Yeah, yeah. Great. Perfect.
04:19Everybody ready? Hands on your buzzers. Good luck. Here comes your first question.
04:24Shortland Street first aired on the 25th of May of which year? Michael.
04:301992. Absolutely right. It was 1992.
04:35Imagine if you got that wrong. I know, I know.
04:39Michael, you have a choice. Would you like to play or pass?
04:42Ah, look, I'm here to play, so let's play. Yeah, Michael.
04:47But which one? Drop zone one, two, three, or four?
04:50If you go one or four, I'm going to be so angry at you.
04:53I'll go one or four, definitely, and I feel like...
04:57Decisions. Decisions. Let's go one.
04:58Light up drop zone one for Michael, please.
05:01Oh, now I've got to figure out when to do it.
05:02And that is key, Michael. That's key.
05:05Surgical position. There we go.
05:09Oh, bounces around, lands to the right.
05:11That's a good place. That's a good place.
05:13That is good. It's flat. Will it just fill again?
05:15Come on, come on, come on.
05:16What are you doing? Come on, come on.
05:17Can't just drop onto that bottom shelf.
05:19Now, keep an eye on this cluster.
05:20Just a little bit of...
05:21Here we go.
05:22Oh, my gosh!
05:23Great start, Michael.
05:24Six counters drop into the win zone.
05:26That's $300.
05:27Thanks, everyone.
05:28Let's take that from the machine, transfer that to your bank.
05:30Puts you in the lead for now.
05:32Michael, you have two counters left.
05:34Ria and Kim, you have three counters.
05:36Here comes your next question.
05:38What is the largest organ in the...
05:40Kim! Kim!
05:41Kim?
05:41Kim?
05:42Do I say something?
05:43Yes, answer, Kim. Quickly, answer.
05:44The answer is skin.
05:46Yes, it is skin.
05:47Good one.
05:47It accounts for about 15% of your total body weight and covers roughly 21 square feet.
05:53I was going to be hard.
05:54Sorry, I yelled. I panicked.
05:55That's all right.
05:56Do you know what? We didn't even notice that.
05:58You got it.
06:00You had the choice. Would you like to play or pass?
06:02I'm playing.
06:02You are playing?
06:03I'm getting in there.
06:04Where are you looking?
06:05All right.
06:05Two. 100%.
06:06100%.
06:07Light up. Drop zone two, please.
06:08I see what you're doing there.
06:10You've got the little question mark.
06:11I want the question mark.
06:12In your own time.
06:15There we go.
06:16Brilliant.
06:17Fire's out.
06:17We want it to be flat, Kim.
06:19It is flat.
06:19Oh, that's in a good place.
06:20Keep an eye on that cluster in the front.
06:22It is in a good place.
06:23Come on.
06:23Come on.
06:24Come on.
06:24One, two, three, four.
06:26No.
06:26One counter.
06:27We could get some into the wind zone.
06:29Believe that you are good at this.
06:31Good.
06:32That's okay.
06:33Kim, three counters drop into the wind zone.
06:35That gives you a total of $150.
06:37Let's take that from the machine, add it to your bank.
06:39You're now on the board.
06:40You and Michael both have two counters rear.
06:42You still have three counters.
06:44Yeah.
06:44Here comes your next question.
06:46What was Melanie Chisholm's nickname when she was a member of the Spice Girls?
06:52Kim.
06:53Mel C.
06:54Oh, what is her?
06:54Sporty Spice.
06:55Correct.
06:56It was Mel C.
06:57Sporty Spice.
06:58Her signature look was chosen because she didn't want to spend time in hair and makeup.
07:01Kim, play or pass?
07:02Definitely play.
07:04You're going to persevere.
07:04I'm going to do two.
07:06Light up drop zone two, please.
07:09I watch this show at home and everyone goes one and four.
07:12Oh, my God.
07:13I just listened to you and hit it.
07:17Mystery counter has dropped.
07:19I choose to electrocute Michael.
07:25But your counter at the top may have just squeezed into a bag.
07:29But you get those ones, though, don't you?
07:30Absolutely.
07:31Okay.
07:31They count.
07:33Three counters drop out.
07:34That's totaled $150.
07:36Take that from the machine.
07:37Add that to your bank.
07:39Pushes you equal with Michael.
07:42More importantly in the drop.
07:43You're after that mystery counter.
07:44You got it.
07:45Would you like to know what you want?
07:46Yes, I would.
07:47It is a pack of Daniel Faitawa temporary tattoos.
07:52Now you can take Daniel with you everywhere you go with this pack of Daniel Faitawa temporary tattoos.
08:00I'm quite emotional.
08:00Where are you going to put that?
08:01On your forehead.
08:02Yeah, yeah.
08:03You can have me on the largest organ of your body.
08:05Yes.
08:06Amazing.
08:07All right, team.
08:08Kim, you have one last counter to play.
08:10Yes.
08:11Rhea, you have three.
08:12I do.
08:12Michael, you have two.
08:13Here comes your next question.
08:15Paul Reid, who played Marshall Hayward on Shortland Street, was also a member of which girl?
08:21Rhea.
08:22Alameda P?
08:23No.
08:24It was Rubicon.
08:25Rubicon.
08:26Rubicon.
08:26Rhea.
08:27Damn it.
08:28Afraid I'm going to have to steal one of your counters from you, Rhea.
08:30Oh, yes.
08:31Not to worry.
08:31You're left with two counters, like Michael.
08:33All right, guys.
08:33Here comes your next question.
08:35What is the name of the traditional skirt made of tulle that ballerinas wear?
08:41Rhea.
08:42Tutu.
08:43It is a tutu.
08:45Play or pass?
08:46Oh, I will play, please.
08:47You're going to play?
08:47Where are you looking?
08:48Yeah, I'll take drop zone one, please, Daniel.
08:50Light up drop zone one, please.
08:55Okay, about now.
08:58Whoop!
08:59Nice.
09:00It is flat, which is great.
09:01That's going to be good.
09:02Is it?
09:03Good cluster there on that top shelf.
09:05Let's try and get some over.
09:06Come on.
09:06Can we?
09:07Come on.
09:08Yes, good job.
09:09You can spread out, Rhea.
09:10Great, here we go.
09:11Let's have a look to see if we can get into the win zone.
09:13Nice.
09:15Rhea, two counters drop out for you.
09:17That's $100.
09:17Let's take that from the machine.
09:18Add that to your bank.
09:20You're on the boards.
09:23Here comes your next question.
09:25The New Zealand women's cricket side is known as the what?
09:29Oh, no.
09:30Rhea.
09:31White verns?
09:33Absolutely right.
09:34Here's the white verns.
09:35Well done, Rhea.
09:36Do you want to play your last counter or pass?
09:39Oh, that's a good question.
09:40You've got the double counter there in drop zone four just tucked at the back.
09:43Oh, is that where that is?
09:44All right, I'll go drop zone four then, please, Daniel.
09:46Light up drop zone four, please.
09:49Rhea, iron up the double counter.
09:53Timing is crucial.
09:56It is flat.
09:57It is settled.
09:58Oh, that's the perfect place.
09:59Is it?
10:00Yeah, I think so.
10:00Yeah, because there's that three in front of it.
10:02Also, how funny was it that none of us knew that sports question?
10:05I know.
10:06Silence.
10:07I know, I know.
10:07I kind of.
10:08We're three actors.
10:09We are but actors.
10:10Yes.
10:11Nice.
10:12That's pretty good.
10:14There's those big ones just about to drop there.
10:16Oh, there we go.
10:17Come on, come on.
10:19Spread out a bit.
10:20Oh, my gosh.
10:23Six counters drop out, Rhea, for you.
10:25That's $300.
10:26Let's take that from the machine, add that to your bank.
10:29Rhea, you've used all your counters, so for the time being, you sit out the rest of the
10:32round.
10:32You're me, Kim.
10:33That's right.
10:34Michael, two counters.
10:35Kim, you have one last counter.
10:36He comes to your next question.
10:37Good luck, guys.
10:38Thanks.
10:39Which American talk show host and comedian had a cameo on Shortland Street in 2020?

10:47Conan O'Brien at once.
10:48Lovely guy.
10:49I've got to do a scene with him.
10:50It was so exciting.
10:51Michael, would you like to play or pass?
10:53I've got to play.

11:10That's pretty good.
11:11Oh, it's bad.
11:12Positive, positive, positive.
11:14No.
11:15Come on, come on, come on.
11:16Yeah, yeah, come on.
11:17Beautifully, Michael.
11:18Michael, you have one last counter left.
11:21Kim, you do too.
11:21Here comes your next question.
11:23Okay.
11:23Which native spider is the only one known to be venomous in New Zealand?
11:28Michael.

11:35The venomous bite is rare.
11:37I don't know where I'm going to go.

11:38Drop zone one.
11:39Light up.
11:40Drop zone one, please.
11:41Come on.
11:45Will it pay us?

11:48That's what you want to do.
11:49That's more like it.
11:49That's more like it.
11:50Come on.
11:51Keep an eye on that cluster there on the left.
11:53Come on, cluster.
11:54Come on.
11:55Oh, Michael, this is great news.
11:57Can we get him over the tipping point into the wind zone?
11:59Oh, there's a few.
12:01There's a few.
12:01Yes, we can.
12:02Got a few.
12:03Five counters drop into the wind zone.
12:05That's $250, Michael.
12:06Take that from the machine.
12:08Add that to your bank.
12:09Thank you so much.

12:12You're on $550.
12:14Ria, you're on $400.
12:16Kim, $300.
12:17And you are the only one with a counter left.
12:19So you don't need to buzz in.
12:21Here comes your question, Kim.
12:23What was the name of Clea Chittim's character on Shortland Street?
12:30Unnecessary buzz.
12:31Yes.
12:32Waverley.
12:32Yes, Waverley.
12:33You're absolutely right.
12:35Iconic.
12:35Okay.
12:36Kim, where would you like to go?
12:37Number two.
12:38Light up.
12:39Drop zone two, please.
12:42Good luck.
12:42And I'll go on the inward.
12:47Oh, no.
12:47Yes.
12:48Oh, yeah.
12:48Okay.
12:49That's pretty good.
12:50Come on.
12:51I don't want to be part of this.
12:53That's not quite where we're at.
12:55Oh, yes.
12:56That's great.
12:56Come on.
12:57That's very good.
12:58More, more, more.
13:00Bring, bring.
13:00I need more than that to stay in the game.
13:03That's it.
13:03That's your go.
13:04That's it.
13:04I'm down.
13:05I'm teasuring, though.
13:06Just the one counter drops out for you, Kim.
13:08That's $50.
13:09Take that from the machine.
13:10Transfer that to your bank.
13:11At the end of this round, Kim, you're on $350.
13:15Ria, $400.
13:16Michael, just in the lead.
13:19$550.
13:20Can our stars handle the pressure of quickfire?
13:23Find out when we return.
13:34Welcome back to Celebrity Tipping Point, where the stars of Shorty Street, Ria Vandivis,
13:38Michael Galvin, and Kim Crossman have left the hospital drama for the real emergency,
13:43operating on my mighty machine for a chance to win tens of thousands of dollars.
13:48Guys, it's time to play Quickfire.
13:52In this round, you'll each have 30 seconds to answer as many questions as possible.
13:57Every correct answer wins you a counter to play into the machine, and that is crucial
14:01because the player with the lowest amount of money at the end of this round will be
14:06surgically removed.
14:09Nice.
14:10All right.
14:11Kim, you're on $350.
14:12Ria, $400.
14:13Michael, you're in the lead.
14:15$550.

14:23I just want to get it over with.
14:24Get it out of the way?

24:50who will get top billing and get a chance at $10,000,
24:54potentially $20,000 for charity.
24:56Find out after this.
25:07Nau mai anu.
25:09Welcome back to Cedepity Tipping Point,
25:10Shortland Street special.
25:11Yes, we've had to write out Ria Vandivis' character
25:14as Michael Galvin and Kim Crossman look to diagnose a lateral slip
25:18before the machine goes into cardiac arrest.
25:21In the hopes of winning tens of thousands of dollars for their charities,
25:25it is time to go Head to Hex.
25:30In this round, you're each going to be asked two questions.
25:33You can choose to answer the question or pass it to your opponent.
25:36If you answer the question correctly,
25:37you win a counter to play into the machine.
25:39If you answer the question wrong,
25:41your opponent steals the counter and plays it into the machine.
25:44The person with the most money at the end of this round
25:47will go through to play in our jackpot final
25:51for $10,000, possibly $20,000
25:53because the double counter is still tucked away there in drop zone four.
25:58Michael, you're in the lead.
26:00You will take the first question.
26:01Here it comes.
26:03Which New Zealand singer performs the lyrics
26:06for the original Shortland Street theme song?
26:08Is it you or is it me?
26:11I know this one.
26:12You do know this one?
26:13Yeah.
26:13Kim, do you know the answer to this one?
26:15Maybe I do, maybe I don't.
26:18What is the answer?
26:19It's got to be the fantastic Tina Cross.
26:21Locking in Tina Cross.
26:22Kim, what would your answer be?
26:24Not Tina Cross.
26:25Not Tina Cross.
26:26Oh, I could be wrong.
26:27Let's ask the machine.
26:29Was the New Zealand singer who performed the lyrics
26:32for the original Shortland Street song theme,
26:34is it you or is it me, Tina Cross?
26:39Oh, thank goodness.
26:40Lovely, Michael.
26:41Great job.
26:42I didn't get that wrong.
26:43Where would you like to go, Michael?
26:44Drop zone one, two, three, four, four.
26:45Oh, that's right.
26:46Yes.
26:47I think I'm going to go one.
26:48Light up drop zone one, please.
26:57Nice.
26:57Bounces around, lands to the left.
26:59Is that where you want it?
27:00No, I think it will.
27:01It's for it to go.
27:03Come on, come on, come on.
27:04Come on.
27:05Breathe those down.
27:05Come on, you little bit creatures.
27:07Yes, yes, yes.
27:08One, two, three, four.
27:10Four counters dropped into the wind zone.
27:12Fantastic.
27:13$200.
27:13Let's take that from the machine.
27:14Add that to your bank.
27:15Awesome.
27:16Extend your lead for now.
27:18$1,450.
27:19Kim, you're on $1,050.
27:21Here comes your first question.
27:22Okay.
27:23As of 2025, what is New Zealand's most stolen vehicle?
27:29Oh, okay.
27:30Yep.
27:31Yeah?
27:32Yes, because I watch the news.
27:34Oh, great.
27:35Do you think Michael might know the answer?
27:39I don't think he does, which means he could get it wrong and then I get his coin, isn't
27:44it?
27:44He could.
27:44Great, go.
27:46Game on.
27:47Are you going to pass it or answer it?
27:49Pass it.
27:49You're going to pass it.
27:50She knows I don't know.
27:51Okay.
27:52I know he doesn't know.
27:53Passing it over to Michael.
27:55I really don't know.
27:56I'm going to go Toyota Corolla.
27:58Kim, what would your answer be?
28:00My answer probably would have been like the Ford truck that road rage people have.
28:05Right.
28:06Let's ask the machine.
28:08As of 2025, was New Zealand's most stolen vehicle the Toyota Corolla?
28:14Going red.
28:15Yeah.
28:16Michael, you were close.
28:17Yeah.
28:17It was the Toyota Aqua.
28:20Yeah, I would never have guessed Toyota Aqua, so.
28:22Kim, you win your counter back.
28:24Well played.
28:25Oh.
28:25What is she doing?
28:26Well played, Kim.
28:27Well played indeed.
28:28Drop zone one, two, three or four.
28:29I want to go in two specifically on the wall of three, but I'll just go with two.
28:33Light up drop zone two, please.
28:37All of three.
28:41Ah, it's gone more to the wall.
28:43That'll be okay.
28:44I feel this will be okay.
28:45Move it forward.
28:46A few counters there on the front.
28:47Let's get them up.
28:48Oh, no, there we go.
28:49Here we go.
28:49Only one.
28:50Come on.
28:50No, you're okay.
28:51Come on.
28:52Keep an eye on this.
28:52All of it.
28:53I need.
28:53Love in the middle.
28:54Oh.
28:55Kim, it's just.
28:56Are you kidding me?
28:57The suspense.
28:58All right, Kim.
28:59Unfortunately, nothing there for you.
29:00Michael, here comes your second and last question.
29:03Lovely.
29:04Which German-born theoretical physicist developed the theory of general relativity?
29:10I know this.
29:10You do?
29:11Yeah.
29:11Do you think Kim knows?
29:12Oh, yeah, I think she would.
29:14That's very kind of him.
29:17Kim, don't say anything.
29:18I'm assuming I've got it.
29:19Unless I've got it wrong, in which case I don't know it.
29:22And you can pass if you don't know it.
29:23No, no, I'm pretty confident.
29:25Your answer would have been?
29:26It would be Albert Einstein.
29:27Let's ask the machine.
29:29Was Albert Einstein the German-born theoretical physicist who developed the theory of general relativity?
29:37Wow.
29:39Absolutely right, Michael.
29:40You deserve that.
29:41That's amazing.
29:41Well done.
29:42All right, Michael, where would you like to go?
29:44Well, I'm going to hopefully cash in on all Kim's hard work on drop zone two.
29:47Light up drop zone two, please.
29:50Come on.
29:51We shall see.
29:54Yes, that's perfect.
29:56That's going to be so good.
29:57Yeah, no, that's the best place for it to be.
29:58Good job.
29:59Well done.
30:00Drops down the right.
30:01Keep an eye on those counters at the top.
30:03Oh, no.
30:05Nothing there for you, unfortunately, Michael.
30:08Kim, you have one last question.
30:10Great.
30:10Go, Kim.
30:11What is the name of the main theatre associated with William Shakespeare located in London?
30:19Oh, my God, I know this.
30:20The Playhouse.
30:21The London Playhouse.
30:23Playhouse.
30:24Playhouse, London, Playhouse.
30:25Think about it, Kim.
30:28Michael gave a little flitter that I know that and now I know that I am wrong.
30:33Damn.
30:33Do you think Michael knows?
30:35Of course he knows.
30:36I know you know.
30:37That's okay.
30:38You can have it.
30:38Or you could tell me.
30:41Oh.
30:43Do you want to pass it to Michael?
30:45No.
30:45Do you want to take a stab at it?
30:47The Playhouse Theatre.
30:48You want to lock that in?
30:50I'm going to say that out loud.
30:52Playhouse Theatre.
30:53That is locked in.
30:53Michael, what would your answer mean?
30:55I would have said The Globe.
30:58Michael would have said The Globe.
30:59I didn't hear that.
31:00This is the thing.
31:02Was The Playhouse Theatre the name of the main theatre associated with William Shakespeare located
31:09in London?
31:11Call myself an actor.
31:12Yes, all right.
31:13Michael's absolutely right.
31:15I knew you knew it.
31:15It was Globe Theatre.
31:17Michael, you steal Kim's counter.
31:20Where would you like to go?
31:21Yeah, drop zone two.
31:22Gotta be.
31:23Light up drop zone two, please.
31:27It's good.
31:27Go to a good place.
31:31Bounces around.
31:32That's not the best side.
31:33Yeah, but you still have more money than I do.
31:36Keep an eye on it, Michael.
31:36You could get a counter over.
31:38Come on.
31:38Come on.
31:38Can this finally nudge the cluster into the wind zone?
31:42Come on.
31:43That's all he needed.
31:44One more counter drops out into the wind zone.
31:47That's $50.
31:47Let's take that from the machine.
31:49Add that to your bank, Michael.
31:50Well done, Michael.
31:51Extends your lead, Michael.
31:52You're on $1,500.
31:55Wow.
31:55Kim, you're $1,050, which means you have the lowest amount in your bank balance.
32:00Unfortunately, we've found your tipping point.
32:03Yes.
32:04I call myself an actor.
32:06Goodness.
32:07She doesn't know where William Shakespeare hangs out.
32:09No, no.
32:09You've played a great game.
32:11Tell us who you're playing for.
32:12I was playing for the Faux Foundation.
32:13All right, Kim, we're not letting you go empty-handed.
32:16We're going to donate $1,000 to your charity.
32:20So congratulations.
32:21Well done.
32:21It's been lovely having you on the show.
32:23And I get that tattoo of you, too.
32:25Let us not forget.
32:27Which means, Michael, you're going through to our jackpot final.
32:30Well done.
32:32Don't go away.
32:32Michael is about to attempt a delicate procedure on our four drop zones.
32:36Can we do it?
32:37Find out after the break.
32:48Welcome back to the final round of Celebrity Tipping Point, Shortland Street special, where
32:52Rhea Vandivis and Kim Crossman have both been discharged.
32:55Now, Michael Galvin is keeping a close eye on the machine's vitals in hopes of winning
33:00this jackpot counter worth $10,000, potentially, with the double counter still in there, $20,000
33:07for his charity.
33:09Tell us who you're playing for again and why.
33:10I'm playing for Dementia Wellington, yeah.
33:12And they do a terrific job giving all kinds of support to the whanau and friends of people
33:18with dementia.
33:18My mum has dementia.
33:20It's in my family.
33:21And so we know how difficult that transition is, basically.
33:25All right.
33:26We want to get as much money as we can for your charity.
33:29Michael, it's time now to play Jackpot Round.
33:34Michael, in a few moments, I'm going to ask you to put the jackpot counter into the machine
33:37if you want to walk home with $10,000 for your charity, it's easy.
33:41You just need to get that jackpot counter out again.
33:44Here's how you're going to do it.
33:45I'm going to show you five question categories for each category.
33:47You choose to play one, two, or three counters.
33:49The more counters you play for, the harder the question's going to be.
33:53But the more you win, the easier it should be to push that jackpot counter out.
33:58So, you've had a good look at where the counters all lie.
34:01Where would you like to drop the jackpot counter?
34:03Well, there's that double that's living in drop zone four.
34:07There has to be drop zone four.
34:09Light up.
34:09Drop zone four, please.
34:15What have we got?
34:16What have we got?
34:17What have we got?
34:18Bouncing around.
34:18Oh, don't tell me it's not going to fall.
34:20Just keep an eye on it.
34:20Then I'll fall on top of something else.
34:22Will it be fixed?
34:23Here we go.
34:23It is riding.
34:26It's riding.
34:26It is riding.
34:31Oh, no.
34:33Not the great start, but it is behind the double counter, though.
34:36So, this is great.
34:37Okay, this could be good.
34:38It could be good.
34:39All right, Michael, let's reveal your five question categories.
34:41They are history, geography, film, politics, medical.
34:47Medical.
34:47Just to add more pressure.
34:49Got a real doctor.
34:51What are you thinking there?
34:52Let's get it over with medical.
34:54All right, we're going to go with medical?
34:55We'll just get it over with.
34:56This is going to be embarrassing.
34:57Got to be three.
34:58Three counters.
34:58We're going to win it.
34:59Three counters for medical.
35:01Here comes your question.
35:02Let's take a look.
35:02How many years does it take to complete a medical degree in New Zealand?
35:08Six years.
35:09Eight years.
35:10Ten years.
35:12I know there's all sorts of different stages to it.
35:16I think the initial degree is six years.
35:20Brilliant.
35:20All right, we're locking in six years.
35:22Let's ask the machine.
35:24Does it take six years to complete a medical degree in New Zealand?
35:30Yes.
35:31Yes.
35:32Need three counters, Michael.
35:34Great start.
35:35All right.
35:35Drop zone four.
35:36Yeah, definitely.
35:37Light up drop zone four, please.
35:39Okay, no more writing.
35:44Bounced.
35:45That's what we got.
35:46That's what we got.
35:47Come on.
35:47Pretty good.
35:48Come on.
35:49Come on.
35:50Nudging it forward.
35:52Double has dropped.
35:53Not to worry.
35:55Can we get any of the drop here?
35:57Oh.
35:58More money for your charity, which is great.
36:01Three more counters.
36:02Woo-hoo.
36:02Look at that.
36:02The original total climbing up to $1,650.
36:05We've got a jackpot counter in the right place.
36:07You have two more counters to play.
36:09Staying with drop zone four.
36:10Heck yeah.
36:10Heck yeah.
36:10Light up drop zone four, please.
36:13Jackpot counter.
36:18It's gone to the right.
36:20Oh, that's not the best.
36:21Not the best.
36:22That's all right.
36:23We need some more cash for charity.
36:25Yeah.
36:26Nowhere near the jackpot one, though, was it?
36:28No.
36:28Didn't move the jackpot.
36:30More money.
36:31Three more, Michael.
36:32Gives you a total of $1,800.
36:35One more counter to play.
36:36Same place.
36:37Light up drop zone four, please.
36:37Got to get that jackpot.
36:41Come on.
36:43Yes.
36:44Oh, that's pretty good.
36:45That's pretty good.
36:45I'm loving that.
36:47That's very close to where we want to nudge it across.
36:48Come on, come on, come on.
36:50It slides to the right.
36:51It didn't really do anything, did it?
36:53Will these counters drop off that top shelf?
36:56Okay, that turned out to be a bit of a fizzer.
36:57It is nicely set up, though, Michael.
36:59Yep, that's true.
37:00Nicely set up.
37:00We have four more categories to go.
37:02Let's take a look.
37:03History, geography, film, and politics.
37:07Okay, so my least favourite would be geography.
37:11So let's get that out of the way.
37:13For how many counters?
37:14And I'll go three.
37:15Three counters for geography.
37:16Let's take a look at your question.
37:18Which New Zealand mountain has a circular boundary
37:22that can be seen from space?
37:24Mount Eden, Mount Ruapehu, Mount Taranaki.
37:29Got to be Mount Taranaki, surely.
37:31Is Mount Taranaki the New Zealand mountain
37:33with a circular boundary that can be seen from space?
37:39Thank goodness.
37:40Thank goodness.
37:41Brilliant.
37:42Thank goodness.
37:43Drop zone four?
37:43Yes, please.
37:44Light up drop zone four, please.
37:46Drop zone four.
37:46Here we go.
37:47Woo!
37:53Oh, I don't want it on that side.
37:55Want it on the other side.
37:56That is okay.
37:58There's still being more money.
38:00Good drop there.
38:01That's good.
38:02Could this nudge the double counter down?
38:05No.
38:06That's all right.
38:07That's good.
38:08Two more drop into the win zone brings your total to $1,900.
38:12Fantastic.
38:13Two more counters to play.
38:14Drop zone four.
38:14Yeah, drop zone four.
38:15Sorry, sorry, Daniel.
38:16Yeah, drop zone four.
38:17Light up drop zone four, please.
38:20Yeah, a little on the left, though, eh?
38:22Absolutely.
38:23Yeah.
38:24Oh, it keeps, that's where it keeps going.
38:26Don't worry.
38:27That's not the best place.
38:28Can we get some lateral push?
38:28Can we get some lateral push?
38:31Nah.
38:32Nah.
38:33All right.
38:34Some more cash for dementia wellington, which is great.
38:37Can't complain about that.
38:38Two more dropouts into the win zone and look at that total.
38:42$2,000.
38:43That's awesome.
38:43But of course our eyes are on that jackpot counter for $10,000.
38:47The double counter is on the bottom shelf.
38:49Get those two out together.
38:50You're walking away at $20,000.
38:52All right.
38:53That's what we want.
38:53Drop zone four.
38:54Sorry.
38:55Last counter.
38:56Light up drop zone four, please.
38:59All right.
39:00Now, middle left.
39:01Do you want it?
39:02Yeah, middle left, middle left.
39:04That's the perfect place.
39:06That's the perfect place.
39:08Come on.
39:08This is it.
39:09Come on, come on.
39:10You're not just...
39:10Oh, not mine.
39:12Goodness machine.
39:13No.
39:17One more drops out, Michael.
39:18We'll take that.
39:19That's $2,050 so far.
39:21Very good.
39:22Three more categories to go, Michael.
39:23History, film, politics.
39:25What are you thinking?
39:26Um, I'll go politics.
39:28Politics for three?
39:30For three.
39:31Yeah, for three.
39:31Got to be three.
39:32Who said, and I'm going to give it to you if you hold your breath just for a moment, I
39:38can smell the uranium on it as you lean towards me?
39:41Yeah.
39:41David Lange, Mike Moore, or Helen Clark.
39:45You know this one.
39:46I know this one.
39:46I remember.
39:47It was a great moment in Kiwi history.
39:49It was David Lange.
39:50Did David Lange say, I can smell the uranium on your breath as you lean towards me?
39:59Thank goodness.
40:00Thank goodness.
40:00Thank goodness.
40:01I'm loving this.
40:02Thank goodness.
40:03Three more counters to play.
40:04Drop zone four.
40:05Got to be drop zone four.
40:06Got to be drop zone four.
40:07Light up drop zone four, please, for Michael.
40:09The luck's going to change.
40:09The luck is going to change.
40:11Let's go.
40:13Do it on the left.
40:16That's it.
40:17That's the perfect place.
40:18That is where we want to.
40:19Come on.
40:20Watch this jackpot counter.
40:21Can we get it onto the bottom shelf?
40:24Oh, so close.
40:26Okay, that was very good, though.
40:28Drop zone four.
40:29Heck yeah.
40:29Light up drop zone four, please.
40:31Come on.
40:38That's great.
40:39I think that's great.
40:40That's very, very good.
40:41Come on.
40:41Come on.
40:42Watch this jackpot.
40:43Oh, yes.
40:44Yes, yes, yes.
40:45All right.
40:45We've got the jackpot counter where we want it.
40:47On to the bottom shelf.
40:48Come on.
40:48Come on.
40:48Over.
40:51Michael Gallagher.
40:53I can feel it.
40:53It's so close.
40:54I'm just so close.
40:56Two more counters drop out to take a look at that total.
40:582,150.
41:00More importantly, our eyes are on that jackpot counter.
41:03The number two hasn't dropped yet, has it?
41:05The double thing?
41:05Not yet.
41:07Come on.
41:07On the bottom shelf.
41:09Both near the edge.
41:11You have one more counter to play.
41:12Okay.
41:13Drop zone four.
41:14Got to be drop zone four.
41:15Light up drop zone four, please.
41:17No question.
41:21I'll be on the left there with that one sticking out.
41:25I think you may have put it where we want it.
41:27I thought it could be good.
41:29Come on, come on, come on.
41:30All right.
41:31Keep an eye on this, Michael.
41:32Okay.
41:32Can we get some lateral push?
41:33I think it's on the wrong side.
41:35Oh, will it squeeze in here?
41:36Yeah, it's on the wrong side.
41:38One more drops out, Michael.
41:40Total is now $2,200.
41:42Very cool.
41:42Shall we take a look at your last two remaining categories?
41:45Yep.
41:46History and film.
41:48I've got history.
41:49History?
41:49Yeah.
41:50You good at history?
41:51Um, it just depends if I know the answer to the question.
41:55Then I'm fantastic at it.
41:57How many counters?
41:59Three.
41:59Got to be three.
42:00Three?
42:01Let's take a look at your question.
42:02In 1979, New Zealand introduced Carless Days.
42:07Who was the Prime Minister during this time?
42:09David Lange, Bill Rowling or Robert Muldoon?
42:14I'm really hoping it was Robert Muldoon.
42:16All right.
42:17Let's ask the machine.
42:18Was Robert Muldoon the Prime Minister in 1979 who introduced Carless Days?
42:27Oh, thank God.
42:29Oh, I'm like this.
42:31Please, please, please.
42:34Michael, three counters.
42:35You know where.
42:37I know.
42:37You know where.
42:38Light up.
42:39Drop zone four, please.
42:41Okay.
42:42Okay.
42:43Come on, come on, come on, come on.
42:47Ah, no.
42:48Gone to the right, Michael.
42:50No, no, no.
42:51That's not good.
42:53Any counters drop here?
42:55Okay.
42:56One counter flips over.
42:57I don't think that's going to nudge.
42:59We need it on the other top.
43:00That's nice.
43:02Three more counters drop into the win zone.
43:04That's very good.
43:05The total is climbing $2,350.
43:07Two more counters to go.
43:09Yeah.
43:09Drop zone four.
43:10Light up drop zone four, please.
43:12Come on.
43:18Oh, Michael, that's where we want it.
43:20That's where we want it.
43:21That is exactly where we want it.
43:23Is that little one sticking out of it?
43:25Is this $10,000, possibly $20,000 for Dimension New Zealand?
43:31Oh, we lost a two.
43:33Six counters drop out.
43:36That's $300.
43:36Also, the double counter dropped out.
43:38So, we double that.
43:39That's $600.
43:40Look at that.
43:41Fantastic.
43:42$2,950.
43:45Fantastic.
43:45Look at where the $10,000 jackpot counter is.
43:48Come on.
43:49Right there.
43:50Come on.
43:50We've got one more to go.
43:51Light up drop zone four, please.
43:53Yep, yep.
43:53Come on.
43:58Oh, that's a beauty.
43:59Yes.
44:00Michael Galvin.
44:01That's where we want it.
44:02$10,000 for Dementia Wellington.
44:04Have we got it?
44:09I don't believe it.
44:10Look at it.
44:12Look at it.
44:14How on earth is that sitting there, teetering on the edge?
44:20Oh, my God.
44:21Three more counters drop into the win zone.
44:24New total, $3,050.
44:27All right, Michael.
44:28Yeah.
44:28Your category is film.
44:29Do you want to go for three counters?
44:31Got to be three.
44:32It's got to be three.
44:32All right.
44:33What date is informally celebrated as Star Wars Day every year?
44:39July the 4th, March the 4th, May the 4th.
44:44May the 4th be with you.
44:45And you too.
44:47Is May the 4th the date informally where we celebrate Star Wars Day each year?
44:58Yes!
44:59Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
45:03All right.
45:04Three counters.
45:06Okay.
45:07Drop zone four?
45:07I think so.
45:08I think so.
45:09Yeah.
45:09Light up.
45:10That's two.
45:10Drop zone four, please.
45:13Maybe for the final time, Michael.
45:15Oh, come on.
45:16$10,000.
45:23Bounces around at the top.
45:25That's the best place for it.
45:26Come on, come on, come on, come on.
45:27Watch that counter on the top shelf.
45:28Will that drop for us?
45:29Will it?
45:31I said will it.
45:34Goodness me.
45:35What happened there?
45:35It just did nothing.
45:37Slid in the gap.
45:38Ah.
45:39Yep, right.
45:40Drop zone four again.
45:40Second counter to go.

45:57Can we get one over?
45:59Michael Galvin.
45:59Come on, come on, come on.
46:01$10,000 for Dementia Wellington.
46:03Are we about to get it?

46:21Congratulations.
46:23Thank you, Daniel.
46:24$10,000 to Dementia Wellington.
46:26Oh, that's brilliant.
46:27It's brilliant.
46:28What does that mean?
46:29How will that change things?
46:30Oh, it just, you know,
46:31gives them just more retours
