Portugal captain and striker Cristiano Ronaldo said on Monday (July 6) the ongoing World Cup will be his last one after his side lost to Spain 1-0 in the round of 16.

"Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and you have to carry on. To be honest, it was my last World Cup, yes, but I’ll have time to think about the rest later," said Ronaldo at mixed zone after the match.

00:02Well, it's normal, it's sad to get out of the world, but as I said yesterday in the press conference,
00:10it's done everything, it's done my best, and I'm out of consciousness.
00:15This is football, this is the life of a football player.
00:19Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and you have to continue.
00:23The truth is that it was my last World Cup, yes, but for the rest, I will have time to
00:30think,
00:31to be with my family, not to decide things with my own head, and to continue my life.
00:38Well, it was a very balanced game, I could give it to anyone, in my opinion.
00:43Spain has had that little bit of luck, I will mark it in the final moments, but it's football.
00:52I think, in general, it was a good game.
00:58As I was up to today, I was with consciousness, it gave me my best.
01:03I won three titles for Portugal, before Cristiano, Portugal didn't have won any titles.
01:09Well, I'm happy, the truth is that the biggest title I won was in 2016,
01:15which, for me, has the same dimension as the world, honestly.
01:18That's why, I repeat, I'm out of consciousness of my best, and that's it.
01:24Tomorrow will be a new day, and life will continue.
01:28Thank you very much.
