00:06Well, England and their fans seem to have the odds stacked against them for the team
00:09facing Mexico at the Azteca Stadium and for the fans a 1am kick-off that would go well
00:14into the morning.
00:16Well, the time is 11.30pm and as you can see it's pretty quiet here in Maidstone but give
00:22it a few more hours as we go into the earlier hours of the morning and I'm sure it'll get
00:27a lot livelier but it all depends on the scoreline.
00:30So we're going to go to a pub, watch along with the England game and then see what's
00:33going to happen here on Maidstone's streets.
00:37And on those streets we heard some of the people of Maidstone's predictions for the game.
00:42It's going to be a bad 2-1 England.
00:46Mexico will go up early, similar to the Congo game.
00:49What's that, sorry?
00:501-0.
00:51I think 1-0 and we'll win on penalties.
00:55I'll go 3-0 England.
00:57Kane Attrick.
01:00Err, maybe 1-2.
01:02Us 1.
01:052-1 England.
01:07Whose record's going to score?
01:08It's got to be Harry Kane.
01:10Maybe Saka, I've just seen that he's starting so I'm hoping he gets a goal as well.
01:14But the fans would have to wait a little longer before they could find out if they were right.
01:17Well, the game's been delayed an hour but that hasn't stopped anyone here.
01:22As you can definitely hear behind me, celebrations are still in full swing.
01:27No stopping here in Maidstone.
01:28We'll see you in another hour when it kicks off.
01:30But it was certainly worth the wait once Jude Bellingham struck his first, then his second.
01:43It was a thrilling 90-minute goalfest featuring red cards, penalties for both sides and 11 minutes
01:49of nail-biting stoppage time.
02:02As the fans left the pubs across the town, some stuck around to wave England flags and
02:08there was a Kent police van nearby, but nothing seemed to occur.
02:12Well with England now set to face Norway this weekend at a more reasonable time of 10pm,
02:17hopefully this time the celebrations will be done before the sun is up.
