00:00This is a vile man who was part of a hideous set of crimes put into prison, of course, in
00:07the first place by a prosecution led by Keir Starmer when he was director of public prosecutions.
00:12Nobody, I think, wants this man to be able to stay in the country.
00:16As you say, there are actually sort of two issues that are a problem here.
00:20First of all, he came to the country at a time with a very small group of people where there
00:27is a specific legal ability for him to be able to stay.
00:32The second problem, though, of course, is we've stripped him of his British citizenship.
00:36We want to return him to Pakistan.
00:38There's a question of whether the Pakistan government will take him back on all of those things.
00:44I know that there is work going on across government to be able to, if it's at all possible, to
00:51deport this man.
