00:00How does that process work when you're going out, especially with NIL being the way it is, Dan, and you
00:07see all these transfer guys, how do you go about finding clients now in today's landscape when you're looking at
00:12players that you want to represent in building up your firm?
00:16Well, yeah, I mean, there was a lot of winners and losers for the draft because of the NIL. I
00:20mean, there's kids that I think definitely would have gotten back and made a lot more money than they are
00:24going to slot it to be making going as the 25th to 30th pick in the draft.
00:30But, yeah, I mean, it is a chess game when you're evaluating, do I stay, do I go? The money
00:36now, I mean, these players in college are making four or five million bucks a year to come back to
00:41school, so you've got to account for that.
00:43But, again, at the same time, these draft picks are getting four-year deals, so there's some security with it
00:49as well. But, yeah, when we're looking at who to go after, it's who's the best and who's going to
00:55get paid. That's why the agents are looking at it.
00:58Absolutely here. So, life management, I mean, for you, how much do you think the experience, sports, excuse me, how
01:05much do you think that experience working with Mark Cuban has helped you really put all this together here with
01:13this firm?
01:13How much did that help you being involved with him?
01:16It was awesome. You know, I had a firsthand for, you know, when I was interning with him, it was
01:19three or four months during the summer of law school, but I was a part of a lot of these
01:24deals that were going on.
01:25I went through the draft process with him. I saw what he was looking for and looking at and looking
01:30how to leverage.
01:31You know, they're not looking at what's going to happen in the 2026 season. They're thinking, how is this going
01:36to play out for 2029 and 2030?
01:38So, kind of having that mindset and knowing what these teams are looking for definitely helps you kind of get
01:42out ahead of it and get some of these guys drafted.
01:44You know, we had the most guys drafted in this year's draft class at eight, so five, yeah, five first
01:50-rounders.
01:50So, it was a good two days for us.
01:54Live sports management is kicking ass right now here.
01:57And, hey, I got to ask you the question about this Kaitlin Clark story and how you think it's playing
02:02out right now in the WNBA and all this stuff.
02:05I'd love your opinion and hear your thoughts on how this is going out and how this is playing out
02:10now.
02:10I mean, I haven't been keeping my tabs on it too much on the Kaitlin Clark situation.
02:16Not my client, so I'm going to stay out of it.
02:18But it's been interesting to see how, you know, there's so many eyeballs now that's on the WNBA.
02:24So, you know, it's interesting to watch.
02:28And it's live sports.
02:29I keep seeing you guys see life in the bottom.
02:31There is another life sports out there, so I don't want to get the confusion out there.
02:37I got to tell you, Dan, I mean, how you guys have built this firm up right now.
02:41I mean, you know, to where it is right now, you had the most players drafted.
02:46Tell me this flat out, man.
02:47I mean, how was this process?
02:49Has this been really kind of like, you know, your golden child here where that, you know, this was something
02:54that you always wanted to do?
02:56It was, yeah.
02:57You know, going back to career day, you know, I'm a lawyer.
03:00I am the managing partner more and more as well.
03:03So, it is kind of my day job.
03:04This was kind of a hobby that I was able to grow into and get a really good team built
03:07around it.
03:08Mike Miller, the former Gator, former, you know, Heat Rookie of the Year, NBA champion.
03:14He's one of our lead agents and one of our good team members.
03:18So, it was really about building a team out and getting it together.
03:21But, yeah, you know, my goal was to get one first rounder when I first started this thing, when I
03:25first started going at it about 10 years ago.
03:27So, yeah, to be here and have five and then three more in the second, it's definitely kind of a
03:32surreal moment.
03:34But, yeah, it's all about just building the right team and having a game plan and not, you know, we
03:38didn't go after these kids last year.
03:40We had relationships with these kids spanning back three, four seasons.
03:43So, you know, we're going to move here.
