00:00And I will continue with more information about the aftermath of the earthquake with Jorge Rodriguez, President of the National
00:06Assembly of Venezuela.
00:12The situation of two earthquakes almost simultaneous to earthquakes with great magnitude of 7.5 and 7.2, since it
00:26happened simultaneously,
00:31they had as a consequence great devastation in Caracas and La Guayra mainly, just as affectations in the cities of
00:42Aragua, Carabobo and other states of the country.
00:45That so far has generated 140 seismic events. The two main events that are referred to the principal ones, the
00:57earthquakes of 7.5 and 7.2 of yesterday evening.
01:02And from that moment on, we have had, until now, in June 23, 138 aftershakes, with a great affectation that
01:19has had great affectations in several areas in the country that have obliged the acting president de Cisorías
01:29to declare areas as a natural disaster zone. This has been coordinated by a command unit, designated by acting president
01:41de Cisorías, who is now in the state of La Guayra, taking care of the disaster area that has a
01:50great disaster that has occurred in this state.
01:54The main mission we have right now for everybody is to be united. The main mission is to leave aside
02:03any kind of difference and leave aside any kind of situation, political position, opinion that we have.
02:12And become one strength, one voice, in one person, in one sea of arms that collaborates and attends to the
02:26people that have suffered this tragedy.
02:31This is time of saving lives. This is time of rescuing people. This is the moment to turn to the
02:40people that are right now under the debris of all those collapsed buildings,
02:52that have been damaged, that have been damaged and that fell on top of the people. That brings the main
03:02mission that the acting president de Cisorías gave to the authorities of the country.
03:10It's to thank the immediate action of everybody around the country. And the first moment, it was questioned by acting
03:22president de Cisorías, its presence and the arrival of specialized groups to Venezuela next to the rescue groups that the
03:34unified command made by an aerial bridge that have come to the
03:38country, all the country, all the specialists that come to the country from abroad to help the recovery of the
03:46people that still trapped beneath the rubble in the state of La Huayra and in Caracas.
03:53Now we have received delegations from the United States, from Mexico, Spain, Qatar, and groups of experts from the rescue
04:04and search from the United Nations that have been scheduled by the United Nations and have been formed as a
04:11group by the United Nations as a single group, as experts in search and rescue.
04:18This is a time to save lives. And that is tending to the main centers in schools, universities, in NGOs,
04:30destined for these kind of activities in the International Red Cross and to care everything that is requested, everything that
04:40is requested concerning water, medicine, mattresses.
04:44Mattresses. This is very important that everybody understands that despite everything in the set of these events to act the
04:57best way to collaborate is to try to help with everything you have in hand.
05:03That everybody stays home. Today there's no educational activities or jobs except those who are essential for the attention to
05:17the contingencies.
05:19And to stay calm because from this disaster we're going to come out united, everybody in Venezuela. Just like we
05:27have achieved to beat other disasters, we can come out of this to be united.
05:33I will be on the – I will be on this one. Thanks for joining us one day.
