00:00I would love to begin with how aware did you find the balance of kind-hearted and psycho?
00:08I really just wanted to focus on the context of the scene and listening to the person in front
00:13of me. And I really wanted to make sure that I led with Sophia's intentions rather than Man
00:20in Yellow's intentions. Because I know that things can read very easily and the last thing I'd want
00:26to do is to make people in town seem like they're so oblivious. I want to make sure that I
00:33lead with
00:33Sophia's intentions and then I know that I am very expressive with my eyes and that tends to come
00:38out naturally and I can have moments to play with that, but not playing it ahead of time.
00:44And I'm glad you brought that up because one, you're a dope actress. Super dope. I caught the
00:49difference between the facial expressions when the lights switch would turn. I would literally
00:54be watching your scenes more concentrating on your face subtleties. Everything that she's portraying
01:00is not in a good-hearted light or kind, correct? You say that? Yes. Yes, totally.
01:06But the way she's doing it and the way that they're telling, oh yeah, come to the diner.
01:11Welcome in the home. And you just end up like, yeah, welcome me on in. On that, when it came
01:16to,
01:17like you said, making sure that there was texture between you and the Man in Yellow, did you pull from
01:22any previous film or was there ever a character that you was like, okay, let me take pieces of
01:28this to here? I am not going to lie. There was one scene in particular where I did kind of
01:36draw
01:37inspiration from the girl in Get Out. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, okay. There was one scene in
01:43particular and I feel like when you watch it, you'll know what I was kind of getting at. But I
01:49always
01:49want to make sure that I don't stem my performances off of other people's performances or just my
01:54character off of other people's performances because that's, I feel like a slippery slope
01:58into how like, you know, you pull from this performance, you pull from that performance
02:01and all of a sudden, all of them together is a generic performance because it's all like things
02:05that you see in other people, but like together, it's not as special sometimes. So I really want
02:11to make sure that like, instead of drawing from other people, I draw from, you know, John Griffin,
02:15the creator. I've been hooked since season one, and I'm still trying to figure it out. But were
02:20you surprised at the fandom surrounding from? Yeah, like, I definitely knew that it had a fan
02:25base. And it was like, one of those shows that like, if you know, you know, and like the people
02:30that watched it, like most, like, really, you know, liked it. And I knew that. But I will say that,
02:37like, still, I was shocked when I actually got into it and like was starting to like, you know,
02:43see things on my own and the algorithm and everything. I'm like, Oh, my God, this is
02:47like, I knew it was a big show. But like, wow.
