00:26which is when your feelings about another person are completely out of your control
00:31even if they're sort of like morally not ideal
00:36that's what it is to be alive and sometimes you meet someone
00:40and this sort of connection happens
00:43but they're magnetized to one another
00:45There is a lot of kind of loves
00:47but which is the love that we have between your characters?
00:52I think that's the question of the film
00:54and that's kind of up to the audience
00:56there's so many ways of looking at it
00:58it's like either it's romantic love, it might be addiction
01:02it could be a form of self-harm
01:04it could be something that suits them both
01:07the circumstances they have
01:09because it means they get to hold a part of themselves back
01:11What does it mean making a film about love today?
01:16I think it's just, there's something about love
01:18you know, ancient Greeks were obsessed with it
01:21like it's always this constant complication
01:24it's rarely simple
01:26at least the stories about love that we're interested in
01:28are not simple stories
