00:00Okay.
00:02Oh!
00:03They cut out pictures of us and make puppet games of us.
00:06Mike has a couple. He's got to have his Red Bulls.
00:08So the bus is packed with Red Bulls all the time. It's crazy.
00:30Well, hello there. I'm Richie Cotson from the band The Winery Dogs, and this is our bus.
00:50Come on in.
00:51Oh, sorry.
00:52Who's this guy?
00:54He wants to see a tour of the bus.
00:56Well, all right. Here it is. Our bus.
00:58It's a Van Hool. Not a Van Halen, but a Van Hool. Similar, but not the same.
01:04One of the things that we have on the bus are puppets of each other.
01:08Our crew fixates on us so much that even when we're not here, they cut out pictures of us and make puppet games of us.
01:16Is that weird?
01:18That's how we talk to each other. Each person holds the puppet of themselves.
01:23Mike's not here, but we communicate through the puppet. Try not to move our lips and just concentrate on them.
01:29That's what we concentrate on. Speaking about moving our lips. How am I doing so hard?
01:33Put this away before I have a relapse.
01:37But we invented an amazing new game. Can I show them the game? I'm tired of showing them the game.
01:43Come on. Good game.
01:45Check this out.
01:47Long bus ride. You've got a long way to go. It requires more people, but we generally play, basically it's ready.
01:53Yeah.
01:54Okay.
01:56Oh! Point!
01:57Kotsen!
01:58I like to spike the cup.
02:00We do it for hours and it's crazy. And we better stop now.
02:04Usually everyone's here.
02:06We've got six people. And then Graham, our tour manager, is holding a glass of white wine as a referee.
02:13The white wine, of course, is spilling everywhere.
02:15And there's coffee in the cup when we do the game.
02:17Yeah. Hot. Hot coffee.
02:19But generally we spend a lot of time in here, a lot of hours traveling.
02:23And one good thing about a band, if you can hang out, you're probably going to last a long time.
02:28If you can't hang, you're going to break up soon.
02:31So the hang is very important.
02:33So, you know, we all have our moments, but generally hanging has been cool in the winery dog.
02:37So that's a good sign for the future.
02:40We get along well.
02:41Yeah.
02:42And then here we have a list of things that need information.
02:46So this is telling us what we're doing today.
02:48Otherwise we wouldn't know.
02:50And this is telling us where we're going to go.
02:52And there's Billy.
02:54Watching us so well.
02:55Over watching.
02:56This is me.
02:57And someone made me lose my head.
03:00My head is off.
03:03And then we have food.
03:05Food and wine and all kinds of...
03:07This is a...
03:08It's a French wine.
03:12And...
03:13Clique sur toi, vis-a, te merci beaucoup.
03:17So we have...
03:18I don't speak French, but I speak fake French, which is important sometimes.
03:21But we have a little taste of red wine occasionally.
03:24Mike doesn't indulge.
03:25Richie and I will.
03:26Richie will occasionally have a sip from the missing Jack Daniels bottle.
03:31This is mine.
03:32This is what I use.
03:34Skin lotion.
03:35Very good.
03:36This is mine.
03:37This is my iPhone.
03:38I'm an iPhone guy.
03:39Not an Android.
03:40Be the first and be the best, I say.
03:43And what else have we got?
03:45Oh, and this is our magazine that we read every night.
03:50We actually...
03:51It's our mantra to just read over through Mike's interview word by word.
03:56Each one of us does a dramatic reading.
03:58We hand off.
03:59And tonight's my turn.
04:00So I'm setting up on the words of my partner so I can read it in my dramatic rendition of the immortal words.
04:08That's...
04:09That's entertaining.
04:10That's good for about an hour right there.
04:11And this is our tour manager.
04:13This is Graham.
04:14This is what he normally...
04:15He's normally doing that most of the time.
04:17Sleeping.
04:18But...
04:19No, actually normally he's sleeping with a glass of wine.
04:20Or if he's not doing it with a book, he has the glass of wine that he sleeps with.
04:27Probably sleeping now.
04:29So that's about it.
04:30We...
04:31At the end of the show, they'll bring a bunch of food on.
04:34We have a couple of drinks.
04:35We start hanging out.
04:36The crew is with us.
04:38We've got a great crew.
04:39Jerry, John, Jay, and Gene.
04:43We...
04:44All of our crew members have got to start with the letter J.
04:46Or the J sound.
04:47Because it was in our original requirement.
04:49It's in the rider.
04:50Our deal.
04:51So...
04:52So Jerry, John, Jay, and Gene are with us.
04:54And Graham.
04:55Which is the letter G.
04:56But not pronounced that.
04:57So we let them sneak by.
04:58So that's about it.
04:59That's about what we do on the bus here.
05:01And we hang out and have a great time.
05:03And it's a blast.
05:05The only requirements they have are really simple.
05:08I don't have any requirements.
05:09Maybe a bottle of red wine.
05:11Richie, maybe a...
05:12Jack Daniels.
05:13Jack Daniels.
05:14For a little splash of that.
05:15Mike has a couple.
05:16He's got to have his Red Bulls.
05:18So the bus is packed with Red Bulls all the time.
05:20It's crazy.
05:21And then also coconut water.
05:23Which he explained to me.
05:25One of the bands he went with recently.
05:27Drank a real lot.
05:28And this is their hangover cure the next day.
05:30But he just got into drinking it.
05:31Even though he's a non-drinker.
05:32Something smells dead.
05:34Oh, it smells okay.
05:35Does it?
05:36No.
05:37It smells like the Chinese food we had last...
05:40Two weeks ago.
05:41What about the dog that's usually on the bus?
05:43Oh, the dog.
05:44I wish the dog was here.
05:45Mocha.
05:46Oh, she's not here.
05:47Anyway, coconut water is everywhere.
05:49And Fiji water might consist on Fiji water.
05:53So we get the little...
05:54Not the big ones either.
05:55He's got to have the little ones.
05:56Crazy.
05:57I'll try this.
05:58But these are good.
05:59Coconut water.
06:00I prefer coconut water in glass myself.
06:02Because the cardboard thing gets a little taste to it that I don't like.
06:06So I go for this.
06:07But yeah, that's about it.
06:09We don't have a lot of real requirements.
06:11Some bands are all crazy about what they've got to have and stuff like that.
06:14For me, if there's some water.
06:18Maybe a sip of wine.
06:19We can always stop and get something ourselves too.
06:21So try to make life easy.
06:23That's my philosophy.
06:25Well, this is the back lounge.
06:27And there's not much here, but there's a lot of strings.
06:30So if you're a bass player and you need strings, I'm the man to see.
06:33Because I get boxes of rotosounds, which I use.
06:35There's a TV.
06:36And I got a little TV back here.
06:38We sit back and watch a couple things once in a while.
06:40But mostly we stay in the front.
06:41Mostly everybody's together in the front.
06:43We really do split up into factions, warring, balkanization of the bus.
06:48We don't do that.
06:49That's important.
06:50I sleep here.
06:51That's Richie's bunk.
06:52That's where I sleep.
06:54Right on.
06:55Billy sleeps here.
06:56I'm down there.
06:57Mike sleeps here.
06:58Mike up there.
06:59Here's the bathroom.
07:01Not too interesting.
07:04Unfortunately, Mocha is not here.
07:06Yeah, the dog is the most exciting thing about the bus.
07:09Yeah, Mocha is hilarious.
07:10She's not here.
07:11I saw a bus driver's little overweight chihuahua who can't even reach her butt.
07:15She's so fat.
07:16She loves him and hates me.
07:18She sits on his lap and tries to bite me.
07:20That's great.
07:21For some reason.
07:22That's really funny.
07:23I wish she was here.
07:24That would make this an interesting video interview.
07:27So you're going to have to go with what you've got here.
07:29Unfortunately, we had no Mocha.
07:31We're Mocha free.
07:32She'll be here tonight.
07:33Okay.
07:34Thanks so much.
07:35We're the winery dogs.
07:36Two thirds of them anyway.
07:38And we'll see you around.
07:39Thanks for coming on the bus.
