00:01You won't see this coming, a different and delicious warm salad.
00:08Hello, tired of always eating the same thing?
00:11Well, let me show you a recipe that everyone always loves.
00:15A warm salad, that's right, with lentils and pumpkin.
00:19If you try it, you'll be amazed.
00:22I start with a good pan where I add a splash of oil.
00:25Here we're going to add pumpkin.
00:27I've already peeled and diced it about two cups or roughly 300 grams.
00:34We're going to stir it over medium or slightly higher heat, and this way we'll brown the pumpkin.
00:40We're going to stir it every so often until you notice that the pumpkin is already soft.
00:47At that point, you can take it out of the pan and set it aside on a small plate, and
00:53it will be ready.
00:55The trick is that while it's still hot, as soon as you put it on the plate, you add salt
01:01and pepper, that is, black pepper, on top so it starts to absorb the flavor.
01:06And also salt, as always, to your personal taste.
01:10Keep in mind that pumpkin tends to be a bit sweet, so adding a little extra salt never hurts.
01:16Mix well, and the residual heat helps the seasoning spread and dissolve perfectly.
01:22Next, in the same pan, a little bit of oil and half an onion, finely chopped.
01:28There you go.
01:29We're just going to cook it over medium heat until you notice it becomes soft and translucent.
01:37Then you add a bit of cumin, a bit of black pepper once again, and also salt.
01:44Mix very well, because here we want the flavors to spread, so all the onion picks up a bit of
01:50that magic instead of passing it on to the rest of the ingredients.
01:56Once you've done that, you put the pumpkin back in with all its juices, because that's where part of the
02:02flavor is, too.
02:05All right, we've got it.
02:07Give it a little mix.
02:09We want the temperature of all the ingredients to even out, and then you add spinach to taste.
02:16I add about half a package.
02:18There it is.
02:19Always washed, of course.
02:22And the same thing.
02:23I'm going to stir the ingredients a bit so the temperatures even out, but I'm not going to cook it
02:29much.
02:30Why?
02:30Because I want the vegetables to still be fresh when you eat them.
02:35What I am going to do is add the last ingredient, which is cooked lentils.
02:40As you can see, I haven't used homemade lentils.
02:43I just grabbed a jar of pre-cooked lentils and rinsed them.
02:46It's that easy.
02:48And I add them directly while they're still cold to this pan.
02:52I turn off the heat and just use the residual heat.
02:56That's more than enough.
02:57All that's left is to give it a few stirs so everything heats up again since the lentils cooled it
03:04down a bit.
03:05And then you can take this big pan with you.
03:08Look, look, look, look at how good that looks.
03:11A beautiful, easy, quick, colorful dish.
03:15And best of all, very healthy and very tasty.
03:19Because that's always the most important thing.
03:21And I'm going to enjoy.
03:24Mmm.
