Palestine Ambassador to India Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh strongly criticised US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan and spoken on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, October 7, Israeli politics and growing India-Palestine ties.
Addressing the media in New Delhi, Ambassador Abu Shawesh said Palestine does not accept the proposed Gaza plan and argued that the events of October 7, 2023, should be viewed in the context of what was happening in the Palestinian territories before the attacks.
Reacting to Oneindia's question on the Hard-Right Voters, the Palestinian ambassador condemned the spilling of Palestinian blood to appease political interests and the Jewish lobby, ahead of the Israeli elections.
On India-Palestine relations, Abu Shawesh welcomed New Delhi’s continued support and said a major boost in bilateral trade could be coming soon. He highlighted India’s support for infrastructure projects in Palestine, including plans for an India hospital.
The ambassador also welcomed India’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2028–2029 term.
