01:03In 2023 it began with 146 teams from 10 countries
01:11This year we have 267 teams from 20 countries
01:19No matter the final results
01:22We truly admire all your hard work
01:26With your skills you have expertly addressed climate challenges
01:34You have shown a strong sense of responsibility and drive putting forward solutions for the Net Zero transformation
01:44In today's world most carbon reduction comes from scaling up the technologies we already have
01:54But to reach our 2050 Net Zero goals we need new ideas
02:02AI is growing fast and using more power
02:07We need new materials, energy systems and production methods
02:13And we must improve computing performance and energy efficiency
02:20And after I took office in 2024
02:25I established the National Climate Change Committee at the presidential office
02:34It includes government and industry leaders, civil society groups, scholars and experts
02:43Together we discussed Taiwan's climate governance, energy transformation and net zero paths
02:54This ensures our policies include diverse inputs from experts and the public
03:02Last January we proposed the beta version of our NDC 3.0
03:11After consulting weatherly across society and further refining the plans
03:18We completed our comprehensive carbon reduction action plan
03:24It says a new target by 2035 we will cut emissions by 38% plus or minus 2%
03:37from 2005 levels
03:41This more ambitious target demonstrates Taiwan's determination to contribute to the global sustainability
