Wildlife rescue centres in drought-affected England and Wales say they are struggling to cope as so many animals are becoming dehydrated and suffering from heat exhaustion.

00:00A big mixture. Many, many birds have come in quite emaciated and dehydrated.
00:05A massive number of hoglets. So many hoglets that have come in severely, severely dehydrated
00:11at a very, very young age where they should still be with their mothers.
00:14And clearly there are not enough resources, so they are leaving their nests as well.
00:19So we've also had fox cubs come in dehydrated. We've had some waterfowl, for example geese
00:27and ducks that have been stuck in their ponds. Stuck in the mud and they couldn't actually move.
00:34So they had to be rescued and when they were brought in they were fully, fully covered in
00:39dried mud and in turn we then had to wash them. You have to give them rehydration fluid because
00:45they were so weak they couldn't even hold their heads up. So all wildlife are currently struggling.
