00:05We just got in 15 brand new residents here at the San Diego Zoo.
00:09There are 15 tufted capuchin monkeys, and they are a barrel of fun to watch.
00:14This is a very diverse group of animals.
00:17There are six males and nine females, and their ages range from one all the way up to 35.
00:23So within the tufted capuchin group, there's one dominant male,
00:27and our dominant male's name is Ozzie, and Ozzie is the biggest.
00:31He's the most impressive looking, and he rules the group.
00:35So in the wild, he would be responsible for finding food for the group, for protecting the group.
00:40So they all bow down to Ozzie, and then there's less dominant animals within that group,
00:46and there is also a dominant female, and her name is Wilma.
00:50Capuchin monkeys are found in South and Central America,
00:53and they are diurnal, so they're awake during the day.
00:57They spend most of their daytime hours looking for food, watching for predators,
01:02and they have the largest brain of all New World monkeys, so they're very intelligent.
01:08So if you come to the San Diego Zoo, and you stand in front of this exhibit,
01:11you're going to see them playing, interacting with each other, and they love to interact with the public.
01:17So it's very likely that you're going to be entertaining them just as much as they're entertaining you.
01:22Well, bye today!
01:26Thank you for your attention!
