Tom Blyth and Emily Bader discuss the essential qualities they wanted to preserve for their characters, Alex and Poppy, in the film 'People We Meet On Vacation.' Blyth talks about embracing Alex's repressed nature, while Bader explains why she went for the 'big swings' with Poppy's larger-than-life personality.

00:00I knew Alex had to be a big healthy amount of repressed, like he's pretty
00:06repressed. He doesn't think of himself as repressed, he thinks of himself as
00:11just kind of like serious and solid and thorough but actually he
00:17doesn't want to let loose so I had to bring a big bit of that to him so that
00:21he could be changed by the end by Poppy. I think for me you know Poppy's in the
00:26book like larger than life she zooms at a million miles a minute and I think I
00:32didn't want to shy away from the how how enigmatic she is as a character I think
00:38you know sometimes for the sake of subtlety in performance we feel the
00:43need to like bring everything down and that's just not how she reads in the
00:47book so I wanted to make sure we were taking those big swings with her.
