00:00I'm here today because I see Bonnie Tyler pass through Mumbles because she was such an inspiration to everybody.
00:07Her music touches a lot of people, especially me.
00:10Every time I'm going through a rough patch of mental health or anything like that, I will always put one
00:14of her songs on to upbeat my mood.
00:18I'm quite surprised at how many people came here today, but then not as well because she was such an
00:23icon.
00:24And she never forgot where she came from. She was always coming back home.
00:27She was in the generation I was in, in the 80s. Her music was quite strong then, do you know
00:37what I mean?
00:40So you grow up with that kind of music. The music was better back then than what it is today,
00:47I'm sorry.
00:50Because it felt something when they used to come out of songs like she did.
00:56When I listened to her music, her voice is so powerful, it gives me goosebumps.
01:02And I'm just glad that we didn't get to see her this year.
01:05Not even that, because she was in Shrek 2 anyways, the song.
01:09That was then my soundtrack because I grew up with that film.
01:12So her songs have been in films that I've been watching over the years anyways.
01:15Yeah, so we're from Chesterfield in Derbyshire and we've been up on holiday in Anglesey and then basically we've extended
01:25our break so that we could come here for the weekend.
01:28We're staying in Swansea, aren't we? And yeah, we wanted to celebrate Bonnie's life as it's Jasmine who's a fan.
01:35She's been a big fan for several years now.
01:38I can see Jasmine has a lovely t-shirt. Want to show it to the camera?
01:45What's your favourite song?
01:48Total Eclipse of the Heart, isn't it? You love it, don't you?
01:52It was really special, wasn't it? Really special to watch and pay our respects and celebrate her life, really.
02:00She was really such a wonderful and I think you've met her as well, haven't you?
02:06Well, you've met her once and we've seen her a few times.
02:10What she brings to everybody, you know, she was really special, wasn't she?
02:17We went to the Indigoa 02 in 2024 and we got a VIP pass, didn't we? So we could meet
02:26her and had some pictures taken with her.
02:29In my teens, her music was quite prolific. For me, it was her most iconic period in the 1980s.
02:36You know, obviously, Total Eclipse of the Heart, you know, her earliest stuff, Lost in France.
02:43It's a heartache?
02:43It's a heartache, yeah, all that sort of stuff.
02:46You know, the videos were incredible, you know, when they were done by Jim Steinman.
02:51So, obviously, you know, they were out there everywhere at that point.
02:55So, yeah, that's basically why we wanted to come today.
02:59Bye bye.
02:59Bye bye.
