00:37The union also claims laundering delays have led to a shortage of protective gear.
00:42We attended a fire station in Elizabeth where they had run out of PPE, where they had had to take
00:47trucks offline as a result of that. The trucks had to come out of service and no longer serve the
00:51community.
00:52Structural firefighting training at the MFS training centre is also on pause.
00:57The situation has gotten so bad that they've had to close part of their training centre because they cannot operate
01:02it anymore safely.
01:03The MFS says its PPE meets industry standards and it has enough to safely respond to calls for help.
01:10It says it's paused structural fire training while it conducts a review and its frontline emergency response isn't affected.
