00:00Welcome back from the South.
00:01Argentina continues to see a downward trend in the numbers of companies and jobs,
00:06with figures dropping even further than numbers of business closures,
00:09as they're rising steadily during Javier Meles' administration,
00:13with more than 30,000 season operations on a net basis since the end of the Peronist government.
00:19According to a report by the Argentine Center for Political Economy,
00:22based on official data from Superintendency of Occupational Risk,
00:26the total number of registered businesses in Argentina decreased by 30,633 between November 2023 and May 2026.
00:36Furthermore, business closures intensified in May.
00:39Data published by the Superintendency shows there were 2,371 fewer employers reported in that month alone,
00:47compared to a decrease of 1,914 companies in April.
00:51Employment also declined.
00:53In net terms, over 400,000 registered jobs were lost between November 2023 and May 2026,
01:02representing a 44.2% reduction.
