27 Years After Kargil: The Wife Of Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja Tells Her Story

On this Independence Day, we looked back at the Kargil War through the story of one of its heroes, Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja.
On 27 May 1999, he had flown into a dangerous area to help locate a fellow pilot whose aircraft had been shot down. His MiG-21 had been hit by a surface-to-air missile, forcing him to eject. He had survived the crash landing but was later killed on the ground.
We visited his wife, Alka Ahuja, to understand what life had looked like for her in these last 27 years, without her husband.
