00:02This man known as Complainant C has given evidence about what he alleges were eight different indecent assaults by Alan
00:09Jones at a time where they worked together which started in the year 2008.
00:14Now the court has heard that Complainant C felt a bit starstruck the very first time he spoke to Alan
00:19Jones.
00:20He said the dynamic between them seemed to shift after a particular trip they took to Alan Jones Fitzroy Falls
00:27Farm in the New South Wales Southern Highlands.
00:30And this witness said that after that point it became more jokey and there was more banter.
00:34He told the judge that Alan Jones started communicating with him in text messages which the witness described as being
00:42almost romantic.
00:42He said it was sort of like love bombing and at times it became sexually explicit the court was told.
00:48Now C has alleged that there were multiple occasions where he was driving and Alan Jones was in the front
00:55passenger seat and he alleges that the broadcaster reached across and put his hand on this young man's upper thigh
01:02or groin area.
01:03He said those moments left him feeling violated.
01:06He said he had a girlfriend at the time and that was something that Alan Jones knew.
01:10He's also alleged Joe that there were other occasions, multiple occasions where Alan Jones kissed him in a lift when
01:17they were alone in this enclosed space either at Mr Jones Sydney apartment or in the work lift.
01:24He said this was without consent and he said he hated getting in a lift with Alan Jones because he
01:29knew what was going to happen.
01:31Complainant C has also given evidence about a particular lunch that they were both at with a number of other
01:38people and he alleges there Mr Jones rested his hand on this witness's thigh and groin for what seemed like
01:45the entirety of the event.
01:47He said that after this event wrapped up a colleague made a joke to him about that and the court
01:53was told that that left him feeling deeply embarrassed.
01:56So overall complainant C has outlined a number of allegations broadly speaking Joe he said these were opportunistic types of
02:04incidents.
02:04And so he spoke as you mentioned about the power dynamic when it came to someone like Alan Jones just
02:10go into a bit more detail on that for us how did he explain that.
02:14Yeah this was interesting he raised it a couple of times and the Crown Prosecutor Georgina Wright SC was asking
02:20him in relation to each of these incidents whether he said no or fought back or after the fact raised
02:27it with anyone else.
02:28And complainant C said no when he was answering that question Joe about the alleged incidents in the lifts and
02:35whether he pushed Alan Jones away he said you couldn't he was Alan Jones.
02:39He said the power that Alan Jones had at this point in time was extraordinary.
02:45He told the judge Alan was protected he was the golden goose he brought in the money there was no
02:49way in the world I could have said anything to anyone.
02:53Now Joe complainant C has not yet finished his evidence in chief so that means he'll return on Monday for
02:58more questioning by the Crown Prosecution.
03:02This court is overall expected to hear from more than 70 witnesses so we're still quite early on in the
03:08piece.
03:09And as you said Joe Alan Jones has denied all allegations including these allegations brought by complainant C.
03:15He's pleaded not guilty to 22 charges of indecent assault and sexual touching.
