00:00a developmental year on the on the President's Cup side like betting in some guys that are a
00:05little bit younger is a worthwhile venture yeah it helped me a lot yeah it helped me a ton playing
00:11the President's Cup and then going to the rocket helped me a lot now I'm not everybody just
00:16personally just like that that situation and being in the team room with guys the first time and then
00:22the second time is different I don't know how Jackson might feel you know some of the youngers
00:28might feel comfortable with the guys already so it's no big deal but that is a weird thing like
00:32I grew up watching Tiger and Phil Stricker all these guys and all of a sudden I'm in the room
00:37with them and I'm their contemporaries and I'm just right there right and so that's that was a shock
00:42the first time Nicholas was our captain right like it's like that's so cool man and said you're on
00:48the President's Cup team right it's like head is like just things you just I couldn't imagine in
00:54in my wildest dreams right and so that was that was a little bit of shock the situation
00:58it's everything was like my head was spinning all week right and so the next time I was there
01:04man I felt I took a deep breath and I was in a much better place Zinger was incredible for
01:10me
01:10we talked a lot he gave me so much confidence Phil was amazing playing with Justin Leonard was a dream
01:17come true in so many ways he was such a valiant leader and a great he just was so I
01:23mean he just
01:23we were I I he he didn't play in the afternoon on Saturday I played with Phil and he walked
01:27put his
01:28arm around me and says hey I'm gonna be here every shot if you need anything I'm right here and
01:33he
01:33just walked with us all day and so if I ever need anything he was just there there was a
01:37presence
01:38about him right and that's invaluable to a guy like myself who was first time on the team playing
01:44Saturday afternoon with Phil and a huge huge match um when we needed every point right we were underdogs
01:52and it was just like holy cow what a what a situation what a man to to you know put
01:57his arm around a young
01:57kid and be like hey I'm gonna be here the whole round with you if you need anything I'm your
02:02guy
02:02another coach right so so amazing and um you know I I and I think sometimes guys don't know how
02:09to do
02:09that that's that's a Justin was very natural at that you know and sometimes we grow up a little more
02:17individualized and in our you know our it's not easy for guys to do that when you're a competitor
