GUANACO MAKES DARING ESCAPE FROM A PUMA

This is the dramatic moment a guanaco narrowly avoids becoming lunch for a hungry predator.
The puma can be seen slowly stalking its prey before giving chase and pouncing.
The lucky escape was caught on video by Steven Rose, 70, from Canada.
The puma had spent an hour slowly creeping up before deciding it was time to make her charge in the Torres Del Paine National Park, Chile.
A dramatic struggle unfolds as the guanco bucks and shakes the beast off, then makes its escape.
Steven said: “We spent over an hour watching the female puma slowly stalk up to the guanaco before she decided it was time to make her charge.
"There then ensued a terrific battle between the two animals, with the puma being thrown off several times.
"The puma finally gave up, and the guanaco walked casually away as if nothing had happened.
"Pumas have an approx 40% success rate, as the strong necks of the guanaco throw them around like rag dolls, as you can see in the video. "
