00:27I came third, I wasn't really happy with coming third.
00:31Just watching the race, I was very gutted with myself. It was my first international, two years ago to two

00:39I'm a different athlete now, and now my mindset is to that elite level. I wanted to win this European
00:45Championship. I was able to do that today, so it's an amazing feeling.

00:56Mentally, I was ready. I was just trusting my coach, trusting what he told me to do, just working a

01:25Yeah, I was going to ask you, where do you compare the time that you've run tonight, but the fact
01:29that you take a silver medal home from the European Championship?
01:32Yeah, I mean, I don't even know what the wind was, but yeah, it doesn't matter. Even if I ran
01:38time free, I got the silver medal at the end of the day.
01:40Talk us through the race.
01:42Yeah, I got out well. It would have been nice if I was next to Rimmel, because I think he
01:46got a good start as well, so it's hard to gauge what's going on. I haven't even seen the race
01:50back, so I have no idea actually what's happened, but I felt it myself. I got out well, and I
01:54felt like I've helped the speed well.
01:56Were you aware that Marcel pulled up at all?
01:58No, no, no. I was thinking, like, where is he? At like 80 metres. I was like, wait, what? But
02:03yeah, no, I wasn't aware that he pulled up.
02:06British 1-2, how special is that here in Birmingham?
02:08Very special. All year we've been speaking about taking the three medals, so it's unfortunate one athletic pull-out, but
02:15yeah, we got the 1-2 done, and yeah, it was special.

02:32What does that mean to you to have your child here, your family here? I know you've spoken about how
02:37important that is a lot before.
02:39Yeah, it's everything. They're the reason I work hard. They're the reason I want to be great. They're the reason
02:44I want to make finals, so I can take them around the world and experience this great sport that we
02:47have.
02:48Athletics came to us as a family very late, but it's changed all of our lives, not just me. We
02:54get to see the world, and we do it together, so it's super special.
