Plenty of Commanders are getting attention at training camp, but which players should be getting more?

00:00Who's the player you think is kind of getting slept on right now on this
00:04commander's roster? I'm curious if there's somebody you think about B. I know I got
00:08one offense, one defense. Who's been slept on? I haven't heard a lot of talk
00:16about Leo. Chennault? But I think you will hear a lot about him once the season
00:21start. Offensively? I also think Chennault's game is so physical that it might not show
00:36until maybe tomorrow. That's what I'm saying. I'm out here, you watch a guy get
00:43touched by five people, then he continue running. And then you go look online and
00:48they talk about, oh look at that big run. He was tackled seven times. Right. You
00:52know, those type of things, that annoys me a little bit. But offensively, I think
00:58some of these offensive linemen, I think my man Chris Paul is at a damn hell of a
01:02camp. You know, we talk about what we don't have, but the ones we have need to
01:08be concerned about, and that dude has been handling his business. Well, and it
01:12helps because now Coleman's not available to compete there. Yeah. But he was
01:18handling his business as day one. Yeah. Before Tonson got hurt. For me, I've been
01:27high on Josh Josephs throughout camp. I think the rookie out of Tennessee is
01:30having a really good camp. And I don't know if this will land like I want it
01:34to. I think we're sleeping on Bill a little. I think Bill has looked good, and
01:40the stuff they've been challenging him on, pass pro, pass catching, I think he's
01:45looked good with that stuff. Yeah. Yeah. But I still have people pumping him up, so
01:50I don't think he's been slept on. Like, it's tough to say Bill because he, maybe
01:56honestly, I'm saying Bill in a more national sense. Because people nationally
02:02dump on the commander skill position group. Maybe that's changed a bit now that
02:05they've added Steph Diggs. But like, what, fantasy rankings wise, where does Bill
02:10land for like fantasy football? I bet it's not where a lot of people would
02:14expect it to be. I don't know. I think Bill's having a good camp. That's here.
02:19My stance. Yes, Stallion. My stance is Deami. I think Deami's had a really good camp.
02:26And I think he's kind of an easy one. There's chemistry there with him and
02:29Jaden. But just kind of watching him work in the red zone, like, I would not be
02:34surprised. I was talking with someone who's on the beat today. I would not be
02:37surprised if Deami has like six, seven touchdowns this season. Now, maybe it's
02:42just camp him getting looks there. But I thought he's been really impressive in
02:46the red zone. This is your Jeff Cam Sims prediction? This is my Cam Sims. He's my
02:51Cam Sims. He's someone that I will not quit. That's actually a good point. Here's
02:54something interesting, though, with Deami. Whatever got unlocked during the
02:59playoff run, keep doing that. Like, why? I don't think he's gonna have seven or eight
03:05touchdowns, just so we're clear. That's a lot. Six, seven. Six, seven. That'd still
03:09be a lot. Thank you. But we have seen him succeed. Yeah, it was a brief sample in
03:17January of 2025. But we saw it with our eyes. So I like that one, Stallion. Jeff,
03:24who do you got? I have to go with Chanel on defense. And it's simply because I
03:30haven't heard anything about him. I haven't seen no videos or any of that. I
03:35haven't been out there. And then, JP, you put this name up earlier in camp,
03:41before camp started, actually. Jeremy McNichols, has he been doing anything out
03:45there? I haven't seen no videos, nothing.
03:49That's a... I don't think I saw him today. And I think he may have left yesterday.
03:53Yeah, I didn't see him at one point yesterday, for sure. So the McNichols thing,
03:57we do have to figure out because he's a valuable piece, man. He really is. I want to let the
04:02callers weigh in. Who's a Commanders player you believe is getting slept on? I'm having
04:06a tough time pulling up the call sheet. I think Jupe is on the line. Jupe. What up,
04:10Jupe? Who do you say is getting slept on?
04:14What's going on, fellas? How y'all feeling?
04:16We good, man.
04:18Hey, hey, I think Brandon Coleman is being slept on on the offense. Like, come on,
04:23y'all. He was on that team that got us to the NFC title game in the 2024 season. And
04:31then on the defensive side, I'm saying Lupe was being slept on. Like, you don't know with
04:36all the injuries we had last year, how he performed in 2024, playing out of position,
04:42and now we got all this talent surrounding him. And the tutelage he learned from Wagner,
04:48yeah, he's about to show out. And isn't this a contract year for him? So I fully believe
04:54he's about to show out this year. So that's what I got for you guys.
04:57All right, man. I like that, man. I like that. 800-636-1067. 800-636-1067. I think there's
05:07a lot of excitement around. I like that Luvu call because I think Luvu was forced to play
05:14a lot of true DN last year, just as all those injuries kept mounting. And that's not his
05:19game, man. He's got to be able to fly around and kind of be an athlete. You know what I
05:22mean? I totally agree. I looked this up. So why I say Bill, fantasy running back rankings,
05:33and this is PPR. So maybe if you're in a non-PPR league, it'd be a little bit different.
05:38Where do you think Bill, presumably the starting running back for an offense that I think we'd
05:43all expect to be like a top 10 offense? I understand they lost Tunsil, but I think there
05:48are high expectations for this offense. Where do you think, now granted that we're talking
05:52fantasy here, where do you think Bill would rank on these lists of like where to draft
05:58your running backs? I would say like 30th. He'll be down because he's not a pass catching
06:03back. Dude, he's 40th on a list that only goes to 50. I can see that based off of fantasy
06:13football is about what guy you have on your team get a lot of attempts. Whether it's
06:19going to be running and catching the ball out the backfield. They don't utilize him like
06:23that. But it's fantasy. Until they do. Yeah, but if they don't. But they do have
06:28Rashad White. If he runs the ball like he's supposed to be and he gets a thousand yards
06:32rushing, Brian Mitchell's going to be happy as hell. I can give a damn about whoever on
06:37fantasy thinks what. Because I watch real football. I don't watch fantasy. I don't
06:42play fantasy. And you play fantasy baseball. Yeah, totally playing that for me. But what
06:48he does on a, the thing about it, a running back can be a, just a dog on a field.
06:54It doesn't
06:54help fantasy. If he's not catching the ball at the backfield and doing a certain thing.
06:59But if he goes out there and eat up yards like he's supposed to, I'm happy as hell.
07:03So, let's hit these phones. Sean is in Southeast. Sean, who's the commander you
07:07think is getting slept on?
07:10Taking my call. No one is talking about the running back Ford. And also Van Jefferson.
07:17They're sleeping on Ford and Jefferson. I know you just said McNichols. But I believe
07:23if Ford show up Friday night, Ford is going to make this team. Thank you for taking my call.
07:29All right, man. I don't think you're correct about Ford. I do like the Van Jefferson
07:33call, though. Van has had a good camp. He has real speed. He is a long, tall receiver.
07:39He's a pro. He's a pro, dude. And I think, I mean, just do the math. Terry, Diggs, Williams,
07:48Burks, Luke, Lane. That's six. Diami, Van. That's eight. Hmm. I don't know, man. That's
07:59a lot of people. You're not keeping eight. It's hard to keep seven. Maybe you can keep
08:02seven, but you're not keeping eight. Let's go to Mike in Chesapeake. Mike, what's up,
08:06man? Who's being slept on?
08:08Hey, man. Hey. Hey, man. How y'all doing, man? We're good.
08:12Hey, hey, hey, Diggs, I don't know why you're not in the Hall of Fame, but I'm going to skip
08:15that right now. But anyway, hey, look, Jalen Lane's the bad man on that punt return, man.
08:20Jalen Lane is bad. I don't know. You've been keeping him, talking to him. That's a bad dude,
08:23man. Oh, yeah. He's a good dude. But it ain't sleeping on him. We know he's going to be around.
08:30When he catch that ball, he know where to move and where to go with them hoes.
08:34Oh, yeah. Appreciate you, man. One vote, Jalen Lane. 800-636-1067. 800-636-1067.
08:43Stallion, explain your O-Way theory. Like, okay. So, obviously, Odafe O-Way has been,
08:50he was the premier free agent that they brought in this offseason. But I feel as if, as a collective
08:56group, a fan base sort of sense, we haven't been talking about him enough. And watching
09:02him in camp, he's looked incredible. So, some way, somehow, I do feel as if he is kind of
09:08flying under the radar at this point. Like, the big talking point, and again, this is maybe
09:12just me. I feel like the number one story from him was the one-on-one rep with Laramie
09:17Tunsil. But really, outside of that, he's had a great camp. And I think he looks incredible.
09:22Did you not hear me yesterday talking about how he was rushing inside, outside? They had
09:25him in different spots?
09:26Well, yes. No, I know. But I feel like as a group, as a whole, not this show specifically,
09:33but as a whole. I think I've heard JP say how big of a man he is, how good he
09:37plays.
09:37The length.
09:39Several times. What you listening to?
09:41Maybe I'm not listening. Very possible.
09:43Yeah, that's probably it.
09:44Very possible.
09:45You and Chris Russell over there on Damn X.
09:48Yeah, jeez, Roos. I can kind of hear what you're saying with O-Way, because I think
09:55with the money committed to him, with the type of expectations that usually brings, I think
10:02the news cycle of Diggs arriving and then Tunsil going down kind of took all the air out of
10:09the room. Like, all of the oxygen went to Diggs' arrival and Tunsil's departure, if you
10:15will. And I think, I mean, dude, this may sound insane. We're kind of not even talking about
10:21Jaden that much. Maybe Jaden's the dude being slept on.
10:25Nah.
10:27I don't know, man. Let's let the callers weigh in. Anthony is in Martinsville. What's up,
10:32Anthony?
10:33Hey, what's going on? B-Mitch and Finney. How y'all doing today?
10:35Doing good, man.
10:37Hey, listen. I want to say that I think Ben Sennett is going to have a really breakout
10:41season this year. And I'm going to say this. I think he's going to put, I think the truth
10:47is going to be told this year. I think that we was all in love with Kingsbury when he first
10:51got there. But I think somebody's going to have to answer some questions about it. Because
10:56I think Ben Sennett really going to prove that they was holding him back by keeping
11:00Zach Ertz in the game. And that's how I've been feeling for a while. I feel like somebody's
11:05going to have to answer that.
11:06Good call, Anthony. We're going to find out, man. Especially with John. I got to talk to
11:10John Bates for a minute today. He seems to be in a good spot. But with Bates out, these
11:17guys are getting a lot of work.
11:18They're getting a lot of work. But I go back to what you were saying about Jaden and also
11:21O-Way. When you're paid like O-Way was paid, people expect you to do stuff at a high level.
11:29What makes you think a problem is happening when they start talking about you in any other
11:33negative way. Nothing negative has come out about him. And we watch him perform. The same
11:39thing about Jaden. Jaden has been dropping dimes out there and doing his thing like people
11:45expect him to do. So they don't talk about that. But when you start getting guys that
11:50are lesser known guys and guys that you didn't expect it from and then they give you something,
11:56it's easy to say who's been slept or who's not.
12:01I think O-Way has done everything he's supposed to do. I can't wait to see him in the game
12:05where he can keep going and things like that. And then Jaden, watching him this year, the
12:11dude has thrown some passes and he's delivered from different angles of his own. He's ready.
12:17So I don't think those two guys are being, you know, slept on.
12:21It's just the expectations are that high.
12:23Joe is in Bowie. What's up, Joe?
12:25Oh, gentlemen, gentlemen, we're getting close.
12:29Oh, yeah.
12:30I'm going to tell you I'm going to take Ouse and I'm going to take Trey Burks and our
12:38offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator.
12:43Who do you think will hit the ground running faster? Jones or Blau? I think that's a pretty
12:50interesting kind of debate in all of this.
12:53I think Jones. I think Jones because, you know, we've been playing from the same type of
13:00defense since Brian Mitchell was young. And wow, that was a long time ago.
13:08Well, damn, I'm just taking shrapnel.
13:10Yeah, dude.
13:12Hey, I love you, B-Mitch, man. I'm still got the party bus for your induction, my man. We
13:18got to do this thing, man.
13:20All right.
13:21Appreciate you, man.
13:26Who do you – early on in camp, everybody talks about defense being ahead of the offense.
13:32Which coordinator do you think has the more difficult task right out of the gate, Jones
13:40or Blau?
13:41I should think both of them. But I really believe that Blau had a jump.
13:49Blau is switching up some things, but he did utilize some of the stuff he had. And he
13:53probably already been looking at what he think would be better. Durante had to roll in
13:58here and overhaul this thing, per se.
14:01Yeah.
14:01And change up a whole defense. We had a bimba-don't-break, don't-be-aggressive style defense to where
14:10they're going completely haywire right now. So I think the defense is being a little – it's
14:17a bigger job to do. They have overhauled everything.
14:20Yes.
14:22I just – you wonder – I don't think – and we're going to talk to Rashad White here
14:27in a few minutes, and you get really good information from him. But I don't think – we
14:34really haven't seen much where the offense seems out of sorts. Maybe you miss a pass here
14:41and there. A ball hits the ground sometimes. But, like, we don't see them having to go back
14:46to the huddle all that often.
14:47Or, like, guys shifting in the wrong direction. You know what I mean?
14:51And they deserve a lot of credit for that. That's hard to do.
14:53They deserve a lot of credit. Now, part of that comes from your quarterback understanding
14:58everything, making sure guys know stuff in the huddle before they break it. And all of
15:02these assistant coaches – see, we talk about the coordinators and the head coach, but
15:07these assistant coaches are the ones that are basically implementing all this stuff.
15:10And they're getting the stuff from their guys because you all go off to your own rooms
15:15and you come on the field together. So, I have to credit all of these assistant coaches
15:20as well.
15:22Yeah. And I think offensively, Jaden sets the tone.
15:27Yeah.
15:27And he's here at 4 in the morning. And that pushes these other guys to get here at 4 in
15:32the morning and go through those walkthroughs. I'm exaggerating with 4. Maybe it's 5.
15:37Whatever it is. Like, early. That pushes the other guys to do it as well.
15:42I agree.
15:43And I think when you have leadership like that from your quarterback and you're
15:47learning a new offense, let's be real. I also think Jaden and Blau got a bit of a
15:52head start on this last December.
15:54When they ruled them out and they were working together off to the side.
15:57I agree.
16:00If you're just looking at the opponents, Philly, Dallas, Seattle, I think, I mean,
16:09for Blau to have to start against that Philly defense, it's difficult, dude.
16:14It's difficult.
16:15That's difficult.
16:16But, I mean, that's like the NFL.
16:17That first physics test I took was difficult too, but I aced that.
16:20I never took physics. Does that surprise you?
16:24No. You told me how long you stayed in algebra or that pre-whatever class.
16:29No, I'm not surprised at all.
16:30Math 001?
16:31Yeah, whatever you were thinking.
