00:05So first of all, congratulations. This show is absolutely amazing.
00:08And obviously we've been waiting since the break for the episodes to come back out.
00:13How did you guys find it as well as a cast having to go away for the break and then
00:18re-establish that chemistry?
00:20Sometimes that can be really hard, but in this instance I think it's fair to say for all of us.
00:25It was like just slipping back into a comfortable, warm side of the bed. It felt really natural.
00:31No time in past. Literally like no time.
00:33The hardest thing that I found was waiting between Season 1 and Season 2 to find out if you were
00:40doing Season 2.
00:41That was hard. But the minute we all got back on, it was like, you know what, opening the door
00:47to the sandpit
00:48and all the kids racing out and, you know, eating sand. And that was us.
00:53And both of your characters have got some exciting storylines this season.
00:58So for you, is David Tennant going to come in the way of your relationship?
01:04His wife is right here.
01:08Wait, what?
01:09There's all sorts of storylines that carry on with all the different characters.
01:15And there's some good decisions, some bad decisions, some dumb decisions.
01:20And, but all the consequences are there to be seen and enjoyed.
01:25And I was reading as well that you were with David in Doctor Who all the way back in 2006.
01:30So what was it?
01:30I love that.
01:31Oh, I love that.
01:32Yeah, we did two episodes together and worked quite intensely together on another planet, which of course was a quarry
01:39in Cardiff.
01:40But we were, yeah, stranded on a lost planet in spacesuits and space helmets.
01:45And we got on really fabulously.
01:48So was it nice being able to reunite?
01:50Oh, it's easy.
01:51Yeah, it's lovely.
01:51It's easy.
01:53He's, as you'd imagine, charming and professional and like playful.
01:57But he's, yeah, he's just delightful, isn't he?
02:01He's a good boy.
02:02He's a lot of fun to play with.
02:03Yeah.
02:04And on a slightly more serious note, obviously, it was really sad about Jenny Cooper.
02:08But do you have any memories that you have of her, of your timeline?
02:13She was just so fiercely involved in the production in a, you know, a key figure in the exec team
02:22and in the writing team, obviously.
02:23But as well as that, she was the most gracious, kind, generous woman.
02:29So I just have memories of her sort of shining her light on me now and again.
02:36She was very quietly spoken.
02:38So you'd have to lean in close to hear what she'd say.
02:41And then she would just say something magnificent that would make you feel like a million dollars.
02:46So I feel very, very honored to have known her the little bit that I did.
02:52Yeah, she was one of life's amazing sunshiny champagne sparkly cheerleaders.
02:59She had an ability, no matter what you were thinking about yourself, she always thought the best of you.
03:05And we've really lost a little bit of magic in this world.
03:10But you know what's amazing is that people your age, generations that are in their 18, 19, 20s now have
03:20an understanding of Dame Jilly Cooper and her writing and her legacy lives on through that.
03:28And that is just divine, having grown up with her.
03:34So it's glorious.
03:35We're working hard to make sure we continue to do that.
