00:00Anyone with a toddler or a young child will probably know about the dangers of button
00:03batteries. Now button batteries if swallowed by a child or a baby are extremely extremely
00:08dangerous and in some cases can be fatal so this is a really important topic and I wanted to run
00:12through the Child Accident Prevention Trust's top five tips for how to minimize the risk with button
00:17batteries at home. Number one look around your house for items that might contain button batteries
00:22so things I would think of would be like remote controls, key fobs, scales from the kitchen or
00:28obviously kids toys if Belle will let me have this one so just check if they do have button batteries.
00:34Number two any products that have button batteries check that the battery compartment is secure and
00:38that no button batteries have fallen out. Number three store all your batteries up high in a safe
00:46place well out of reach of children. Number four make sure you dispose of used button batteries as
00:52soon as you can so check local guidelines for your nearest recycling or disposal point. Number five
00:57act fast if you think your child has swallowed a button battery get them to A&E immediately
01:01or call an ambulance. I hope that was helpful if you do have any other top tips please share them
