00:22As my part one qualification I had defined 12 months placement.
00:26I never thought I'd end up working at Buckingham Palace.
00:30I worked on phases 1 and 2 in the West Wing where we implemented new lift shafts, new lift lobbies
00:37and toilet facilities.
00:38My main role was the 3D modelling, 2D CAD drawing and rendering of finishes.
00:44I thoroughly enjoyed all the work I did here and it has been an enriching experience.
00:51I was really excited to work here. Not many people get to work in such a historic building.
00:56Working here with really skilled carpenters and getting to learn from them was a really interesting experience.
01:04My role here at Buckingham Palace in the East Wing is to fireproof around services made via cables, pipe work
01:11or engineering work.
01:12Working with the resurfacing programme has been a phenomenal experience.
01:17You get to work with other trades that you don't normally work with.
01:20You meet new people and the environment and the whole is quite great.
01:24My work involves monitoring, reporting and gathering information to support with the construction activities.
01:32I've been able to take away a lot of vital life skills from this apprenticeship.
01:36Working with individuals I've been able to support and I've been able to learn from as well.
01:41The most enjoyable part about this resurfacing project for me has been seeing the heritage being preserved and allowing people
01:50to actually enjoy heritage.
01:52This is a large scale resurfacing project. It's definitely something I have enjoyed and everyone here has been absolutely lovely.
01:58This is something I would really love to do more of in the future.
