00:00The amazing things that nurses up and down the country are doing, going that extra mile,
00:04and it's the things that, you know, it's not part of the training and the things that you're taught,
00:08but it's the things that come from your heart.
00:11The gentleman, unfortunately, was dying, so we spoke to his wife, and she said,
00:16I can't come to see you, but can you make sure you sing Bon Jovi and hold his hand?
00:22If I sing Bon Jovi in my accent, it won't be appropriate.
00:26So I took my phone out and replayed a YouTube video of Bon Jovi, and I held his hand.
00:32That's what matters so much now, these acts of kindness to the patients that you're looking after,
00:37that in your care, that family members aren't able to be there, but you are going that extra mile.
00:42The most important aspects of me doing that is actually to tell people to have the vaccine
00:47and to sort of give them the positive sides of that.
00:50One of the most trusted professions in Britain, and I think it's down to beyond some of the professionalism,
00:55the dedication and the skill, so to be able to reassure the public as well that this is safe
01:02and it's the right thing to be doing is really fantastic.
