00:00Of all the issues that you could pick, why did you choose girls' education?
00:04You know, similar to you, I think you see something that is so critical to be addressed
00:11and is so critical to be fixed, and that by fixing that one thing, you end up fixing multiple problems.
00:17And so, you know, what I had realized very early on was that when women have a seat at the
00:23table,
00:24conversations in terms of policy change, conversations in terms of legislation,
00:29certainly in terms of just the dynamics of the community, are all shifted.
00:33And typically when a woman is present at the table, she's going to be advocating for an entire family
00:37as opposed to a patriarchal presence.
00:40And so when you have to see how do you get a woman to embrace her voice,
00:45well, you have to start with where she is as a young girl.
00:47How were you spending your time in COVID?
00:49Oh my goodness.
00:51Well, on Zoom.
00:53On Zoom.
00:53On Zoom.
00:55But outside of that with our little one.
00:58We were both there for his first steps, his first run, his first fall, his first everything else.
01:02And it's just fantastic because I think in so many ways we are fortunate to be able to have this
01:08time to watch him grow.
01:09And in the absence of COVID, we would be traveling and working more externally
01:13and would miss a lot of those moments.
01:15So I think, you know, it's been a lot of really good family time.
