00:00Despite their commercial potential, sequels can be tough to pull off artistically because they require filmmakers to deliver an experience
00:07that's consistent with what came before, whilst also feeling like something new altogether.
00:13Countless sequels have failed because they either strayed too far from what viewers loved the first time around, or just
00:20felt like a lazy rehash of the original concept.
00:23But where these upcoming sequels are concerned, these ones might have what it takes to be serious improvements on their
00:31predecessors.
00:32I'm Ewan, this is WavCulture, and here are a bunch of yet-to-be-released movie sequels that could be
00:38huge improvements.
00:40First up, Mortal Kombat 2.
00:452021's Mortal Kombat reboot was fine.
00:48It certainly delivered a bevy of bloody action as fans of the franchise would have expected, but it left a
00:54lot to be desired on the story and character front, which is arguably more important.
01:01Like, for starters, where the hell was Johnny Cage?
01:05That's my best impression of the announcement voice.
01:08I'm really trying to build my repertoire of voices here.
01:10Please let me know in the comments section if I should persist.
01:13Either way, the good news is that the impending sequel, titled Mortal Kombat 2, will be rectifying the cagelessness of
01:21its predecessor,
01:22with the great Karl Urban roped in to play the fan-favorite martial artist slash moody star from the video
01:29games.
01:29The trailers certainly suggest that Urban is having a ton of fun playing Cage, and in addition to this,
01:35the sequel also introduce other iconic combatants, such as Katana, Jade, Quan Chi, Shao Kahn, Sindel, and Baraka, which, yeah,
01:45that's a great roster.
01:46But perhaps the biggest relief to fans of the gaming franchise is that the protagonist of the first film, Cole
01:53Young, played by Louis Tan,
01:54appears to have been relegated to glorified cameo duty this time around.
01:59Given that he was an original creation for the first movie and functioned as a rather pointless audience surrogate character,
02:08the fact that his presence is being seriously curtailed should help Mortal Kombat 2 be a vastly superior sequel.
02:15Next up, Fast 11, or maybe Fast XI, whatever it's going to be called.
02:20The most recent Fast and Furious movie, Fast X, was frankly a lot of old tosh,
02:26even for the series' rather loosey-goosey standards post the seventh installment in the franchise.
02:33But for Fast X specifically, we reached a whole new nadir with this one.
02:37It's never felt more tired and on autopilot than it did here,
02:42with a bland script, played out action sequences,
02:45and a resoundingly lame cliffhanger ending, which...
02:49Oh, Vin, what are we doing here?
02:52Were it not for Jason Momoa's wildly over-the-top performance as villain Dante Reyes,
02:58basically the Fast and Furious Joker,
03:00Fast X would have been outright forgettable.
03:03But there is some scant promise for the next one,
03:06which Vin Diesel has promised will be a more back-to-basics affair,
03:10returning to the franchise's street racing routes in Los Angeles,
03:13while dialing back the cartoonish, globe-trotting action super-spy stupidity.
03:20And again, take this with a huge grain of salt,
03:22but Fast XI has also been confirmed to be the final entry in the mainline series,
03:28and so it's fair to assume that Diesel and company will be attempting to cook up something meaningful,
03:34and potentially it could be an emotional farewell to the fanbase.
03:37Though it's reasonable to just be, you know, a little concerned about Diesel's claims
03:42that the late Paul Walker's Brian O'Connor will make an appearance in the film,
03:46presumably through VFX trickery once again,
03:50at least the creatives appear to have listened to the vocal criticism of the last movie,
03:55which again was...
03:57shit bad.
03:58On the way, Scary Movie 6.
04:00There was genuine surprise when a sixth entry into hit horror spoof franchise Scary Movie was announced last year,
04:07considering the spoof genre more or less died a painful death in the 2010s with the rise of social media
04:14and such bad movies as Meet the Spartans and Superhero Movies, well, oh man, those were bad.
04:22Moreover, 2013's Scary Movie 5 was an absolute dumpster fire of a film,
04:28a charmless, virtually laugh-free slog of a movie which was universally panned by critics,
04:33confirming beyond any doubt that the series had finally run its course.
04:37And so, while it's absolutely fair to say that the bar is firmly in hell for Scary Movie 6,
04:44it's also a prime example of a series that, despite the tawdry quality of its later entries,
04:49is still held in fondly nostalgic regard by many cinephiles.
04:54Furthermore, the horror genre has changed considerably over the last decade plus,
05:00ensuring the sequel shouldn't want for a fresh angle or new material to draw from.
05:05And above all else, Scary Movie 6 was recently confirmed to star Anna Faris and Regina Hall,
05:12reprising their roles as Cindy and Brenda respectively,
05:15after conspicuously sending out the previous entry.
05:18So, that's another plus.
05:20With these elements in play, it's pretty much mathematically impossible for Scary Movie 6
05:24to not be at least a solid-ish improvement over the last film,
05:29even if it's just like a little solid, like a smidge.
05:34The consistency is, you know, it's healthy, but, you know, it's acceptable.
05:40Next up, we're holding out for a hero, Shrek 5.
05:44As iconic as the Shrek franchise remains to this very day,
05:49it's also inarguable that the series' quality peaked with its terrific second film,
05:54after which the lore of diminishing returns swiftly kicked in across the next two sequels.
06:002010's Shrek Forever After was a fairly mediocre finale,
06:04enough that fans vocally rallied for DreamWorks to produce another movie,
06:08and in 2027, they'll finally get their wish.
06:13It's like a whopping, like, what, like 20, 26 years since the first Shrek?
06:17Ah!
06:20Brief existential crisis aside,
06:23though we don't know much about the plot of Shrek 5,
06:25it's probably fair to assume that it'll deal with the legendary ogre
06:29entering middle age and dealing with being a parent to teen triplets,
06:33one of whom we know will be voiced by Zendaya.
06:37This isn't to say that Shrek 5 will be a banger on par with the first two films,
06:42but there's also clear scope for a Shrek legacy sequel to add something worthwhile to the franchise,
06:48far beyond being just another Shrek sequel, as the previous installment was.
06:54Next up, we don't want none.
06:56Bad movie sequels.
06:58Anaconda.
06:59Okay, so we're admittedly stretching the definition of the word sequel here,
07:04but the new Anaconda movie is certainly tough to quantify.
07:08Something of a soft reboot for the horror franchise,
07:11this new film is effectively a meta legacy sequel to the original 1997 Jennifer Lopez starring movie,
07:19with Jack Black and Paul Rudd playing a pair of goofy pals who head into the Amazon
07:24to remake their favorite childhood movie, which was Anaconda.
07:29You know, no judgment.
07:30I'm just saying, you know, like, there are better childhood movies to have out there.
07:34Like, you know, the Digimon movie?
07:36That's a movie everyone can agree is great.
07:38Stop getting sidetracked, you and...
07:40The rub with this one is that once they start shooting,
07:44a real giant Anaconda shows up and all hell breaks loose.
07:49The Tropic Thunder route is certainly a delightfully unhinged angle for a new Anaconda movie,
07:55and considering the original film is more of a trashy, guilty pleasure than a genuinely good romp in its own
08:02right,
08:03there's a lot of potential here for this quasi-sequel monstrosity to actually be an improvement.
08:10Like, just going off the crew alone, it's co-written and directed by Tom Gormacken,
08:15who did a fabulous job on the unbearable weight of massive talent a few years back,
08:20so don't be surprised if this new Anaconda movie few people were probably asking for
08:26actually breathes fresh life into this dubious franchise.
08:31Yep, they're doing another.
08:33Insidious 6.
08:34The Insidious franchise has admittedly been wildly hit and miss ever since its inception,
08:41though there's a strong consensus that 2023's fifth film, Insidious The Red Door,
08:46was among the weaker entries, despite that wonderful cover of Stay With Me by Ghost and star Patrick Wilson,
08:53which was just...
08:55Ah, that's the good stuff.
08:57One of the chief complaints was that medium Elise Rainier, played by Lin Shay,
09:01was relegated to a thankless cameo, despite being by far the franchise's most popular character
09:07and basically its only real, enduring protagonist.
09:12But for the recently confirmed upcoming installment,
09:15it was confirmed that Lin Shay will reprise her role as Elise in a leading capacity,
09:21which is just...
09:21Yeah, let's go!
09:23Let's go!
09:24Woo!
09:25Evidently, the filmmakers saw just how disappointed many fans were with Shay's minimal presence in the Red Door,
09:31and so it appears that she'll be front and center once again,
09:34which should make Insidious 6, you know, better.

09:47Coming up,
09:48The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
09:512023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie may have been a billion dollar box office smash,
09:56but it was kind of relatively mediocre and forgettable,
10:01and it really failed to back up its sprightly visuals with a particularly witty or even halfway interesting script.
10:08The only way is up for the sequel,
10:10and many heads were touring when Nintendo confirmed that the second film
10:13would be called The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,
10:18which,
10:18if you're familiar with the series,
10:20that's like,
10:20pretty good green flag right there.
10:23Given that the two Super Mario Galaxy games are among the most beloved Mario games ever made,
10:28the potential is inherently huge for a vastly superior sequel.
10:33More to the point,
10:34the space-faring nature of the Super Mario Galaxy games ensures endless possibilities for spectacular set pieces
10:41and eye-popping visuals,
10:43enough that it'll probably make the first Mario movie look positively quaint by comparison.
10:48Though some fans were a bit surprised that Nintendo opted for a big-scale Galaxy movie so early in their
10:54animated franchise,
10:56they clearly appreciated the massive potential of going there as soon as possible.
11:02Another entry in the Jason Statham has a job canon,
11:05The Beekeeper 2.
11:06The Beekeeper was one of 2024's most surprisingly successful films,
11:11and in addition to being a box office smash,
11:14it was also one of the state's more entertaining recent action movies,
11:19which is,
11:19oh,
11:20great,
11:20I'm always here for a bit more of the state.
11:22A sequel was swiftly announced,
11:24and while action sequels can be a tough nut to crack,
11:28we're hearing all the right things with this one so far.
11:31For one,
11:32The Beekeeper 2 will swap out director David Ayer
11:35for the far more inspired choice of Timo Giagianto,
11:38the brilliant Indonesian filmmaker behind The Night Comes For Us,
11:42and who recently lent his kinetic action chops to Nobody 2.
11:46Giagianto should ensure that The Beekeeper 2's action sequences pop with more personality than the first film,
11:53and in addition to most of the principal cast returning,
11:56the ensemble has also added Pom Clementeeth and WWE's Edge,
12:01aka Adam Copeland,
12:03to the mix.
12:04This should all add up to an absolutely wild combo of a film,
12:07hopefully ensuring that The Beekeeper 2 builds on the surprisingly fun foundations
12:12of its clearly John Wick-inspired predecessor.
12:15And with Timo at the helm,
12:17there's every possibility that this is a majorly beefed up action extravaganza.
12:21Definitely keep your eye on it when it drops next year.

12:36No matter that it went down a storm with your mates who think making you watch a 25-minute lore

12:41on Springtrap Gooseman's Origin is a fun shared activity the whole family could enjoy.
12:49It's not.
12:50Please, please stop.
12:51The movie itself, in pure cinematic terms, was clunkily written, wildly overlong,
12:57and not nearly intense enough to do justice to its premise.
13:01But the soon-to-release Five Nights at Freddy's 2
13:05is apparently taking on viewer feedback from the first,
13:08with star Matthew Lillard, who we all love,
13:11suggesting that the sequel will amp up the action
13:13and horror elements that were kind of lacking the first time around.
13:17The trailer has definitely seemed to be indicating that the sequel will be scarier,
13:21more intense, and double down on all the twisted lore that all the fans love.
13:26Beyond this, the cast will be expanded with the likes of Skeetle Rick,
13:30McKenna Grace, and Wayne Knight joining the fray.
13:34That's a really cool ensemble.
13:36Armed with a mighty $50 million budget,
13:39which is two and a half times that of the original,
13:42it seems that returning director Emma Tami is going to make the murderous animatronic mayhem
13:47a lot more gloriously chaotic this time around.
13:50If not, do you have my permission to throw me into one of those creepy mechanical suits,
13:55and turn me into gooey paste?
13:57This is legally binding now.
14:01Why did I do that?
14:02Everyone, prepare to be aged!
14:05Fokker in Lore
14:06The Meet the Parents franchise well and truly seemed like it ran out of juice
14:11with 2010's atrocious third film, Little Fokkers,
14:15as blatant a cynical cash-grab sequel as Hollywood has ever made.
14:20So, few were expecting a fourth film, Fokker in Lore, to be announced late last year,
14:27with most principal cast members from the initial trilogy actually returning,
14:31alongside Ariana Grande, of all people.
14:35Even accepting that Little Fokkers was widely panned and won itself a Razzie,
14:39Fokker in Lore should benefit more from the passage of time than most belated comedy sequels.
14:46After all, Ben Stiller is now older than Robert De Niro was
14:50when he played the overbearing father in the original movie.
14:54So there's plenty of potential comedy and drama to be mined from the role reversal,
14:58as Stiller is now playing the concerned father.
15:02While few are actually expecting a classic from this one,
15:05if it can mine humor and pathos from the March of Time,
15:09then it could very well be a rare third comedy sequel that actually kind of works.
15:15Next up, let's make some noise for A Quiet Place Part 3.
15:20The original A Quiet Place was a superbly crafted and thoroughly original horror thriller
15:25that proved successful enough to launch a WADA franchise.
15:29A Quiet Place Part 2 was pretty good,
15:32though definitely lacked some of its predecessor's novelty factor,
15:35while not really doing much to expand upon what came before.
15:39This might well speak to how quickly John Krasinski made the sequel,
15:43which was shot barely a year after the first film came out,
15:47but with the upcoming third and apparently final entry into the mainline franchise,
15:52he's taken considerably longer to actually put everything together.
15:56A Quiet Place Part 3 will release in July 2027,
16:00some eight years after Part 2 was shot,
16:03ensuring that Krasinski will have had oodles of time
16:06to figure out a more imaginative path
16:08for what's intended to be an epic conclusion to the Abbott family story.
16:13The success of last year's prequel,
16:15A Quiet Place Day 1,
16:17also proved that these movies don't need to be relentlessly packed with set pieces
16:21and might actually benefit from a greater emphasis on actual character development.
16:27Krasinski is surely keeping that in mind while he develops Part 3,
16:31which will hopefully wrap the trilogy up in satisfying and emotionally gratifying fashion.
16:36We're on the highway to hell with Sisu, Road to Revenge.
16:40Finnish action thriller Sisu was one of the most unexpected hits of 2022,
16:46a tight to the point revenge flick that was a whole ton of grisly Nazi murder and fun.
16:52I don't know if I'm sorry I get carried away when we get to like the fun World War 2
17:00pulpy movie stuff.
17:02Anyway,
17:03few were likely expecting a sequel when Sisu was released,
17:07but it performed well enough for writer and director Yalmari Hellander
17:10to quickly get to work on Sisu, Road to Revenge.
17:14The follow-up once again revolves around former Finnish Army commando Atami Korpi,
17:20played by Jorma Tamila,
17:22who this time finds himself facing off against the Soviet Red Army,
17:26led by Igor Dragunov, played by Steven Lang,
17:29the very officer who killed his family.
17:32Sisu, Road to Revenge premiered at Fantastic Fest last month to rave reviews,
17:38and currently sits at 100% on the Tomato meter,
17:40with many critics hailing it as a bigger, bloodier sequel
17:43that still maintains the original's tight and lean pacing.
17:47In addition to Tamila once again receiving heaps of praise for his lead performance,
17:52the great Steven Lang has also been lauded for his menacing turn as the antagonist,
17:57so yeah, what's not to like?
17:59If it manages to hit at least as well as the first film,
18:02we can probably expect Sisu 3 to get the green light suit enough too,
18:06which, yeah, I'm definitely down for more of these.
18:09Next up, a Rian Johnson comeback,
18:12Wake Up Dead Man, A Knives Out Mystery.
18:15Glass Onion was certainly a worthy-ish follow-up to Rian Johnson's outstanding murder mystery romp Knives Out,
18:23even if it didn't quite hit the same highs of some of its storytelling choices,
18:28and the ultimately less satisfying nature of its actual payoff.
18:31But the impending third film in the series,
18:35Wake Up Dead Man,
18:36looks like it could very well be a marked improvement over Glass Onion,
18:41and perhaps even outdo the original.
18:44I know, don't shoot the messenger, this is just the buzz it's been getting.
18:47For one, the cast is absolutely stacked,
18:50with Daniel Craig being joined by
19:07Johnson also promised that the threequel would be darker and more grounded than Glass Onion,
19:13a relief for anyone who felt the second film got a little too zany for its own good,
19:19which, yeah, I'd be inclined to agree with.
19:22And best of all, it's received rave reviews so far since its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival,
19:29with some prominent critics even dubbing it the best film in the series thus far.
19:34That would be quite the accomplishment, so here's hoping it all comes together.
19:38Coming next, Return to Silent Hill.
19:41Though 2006's first big screen adaptation of survival horror game Silent Hill was actually pretty solid,
19:492012's sequel Silent Hill Revelation was a thunderous disappointment,
19:53suffering from a poor script, slack direction, uneven performances,
19:58and a noticeably lower budget than its predecessor.
20:01But with the recent rejuvenation of the video game franchise,
20:05Hollywood's interest in the IP was also reignited,
20:09and so a third film is eminently due for release, called Return to Silent Hill.
20:15Now, while it's clear from the footage released so far that this threequel was made for less than the original
20:20film's $50 million,
20:22it does at least have that film's director, Christoph Gans, back at the helm.
20:27Gans has been fighting to get this film made for, like, so long now,
20:32so it's clearly not just a dispassionate paycheck gig.
20:36Above all else, though, Return to Silent Hill is adapted from Silent Hill 2,
20:40by far the most acclaimed entry in the franchise,
20:43ensuring that, if nothing else,
20:45the film has an extremely sturdy storytelling foundation to actually work from.
20:49While few are expecting Return to Silent Hill to be a home run,
20:54it does at least have the potential to capture the atmosphere of the source material,
20:59something the previous films categorically failed at.
21:02Next up, it's Jerry Butts with more dadcore material.
21:07Greenland 2 Migration
21:09Few were expecting much from the 2020 Gerard Butler starring disaster flick Greenland,
21:15but, you know what?
21:16Despite its storytelling excesses,
21:18it wasn't bad at all.
21:20You know, it was just a little fun little throwback to the 90s disaster movie era,
21:24where Aerosmith ruled the airwaves,
21:27and, yeah, it was just a little, just a fun little time.
21:30You have the fun little guy, you have a fun little time.
21:32And that's basically what the first Greenland actually was.
21:34And Greenland 2 Migration sure as hell looks like it's gonna double down on the first film's end of the
21:41world mayhem,
21:42as the Garrity family exits the Greenland bunker in search of a new home across Europe.
21:49The trailer looks positively bonkers,
21:52showing Jerry Butts and his fan taking on radioactive storms,
21:56media strikes,
21:57and even a giant tidal wave at one point.
22:00Butler appears to be giving another reliably grizzled performance in the lead role,
22:04and the production values look seriously beefed up compared to the more modestly staged $35 million original.
22:11All solid original director, Rick Rohanbois, is back behind the camera.
22:15From what we've seen so far,
22:16there's every possibility that this is a rare disaster movie sequel that one-ups what came before,
22:22and could even lay the groundwork for an actual third film,
22:26which would be great for the Gerard Butler hive among you.
22:30Controversial pick now, maybe?
22:32Spider-Man Brand New Day.
22:33Spider-Man No Way Home was a phenomenal success when it released in 2021,
22:39and while the film was generally well-received by both critics and fans alike,
22:44it's also fair to say that its reputation took a hit once the dew-eyed honeymoon period began to war
22:50off.
22:51Yep, No Way Home is an entertaining exercise in Unite the Spidey's fan service,
22:56but on a narrative and visual level, it's an absolute mess.
23:01Likely a result of the film's compressed production schedule,
23:04and as a result, it doesn't really hold up much on repeat viewings.
23:09Oh, and please resist the urge to send me threatening Willem Dafoe-esque voicemails
23:14because of this opinion, because I will cry, and, um, it won't be pretty.
23:20Although it would actually be also kind of funny.
23:23So, potential pumpkin bomb incidents on my own horizon aside,
23:28it is a relief to hear that the currently shooting Spider-Man Brand New Day
23:32is set to be a more grounded Spider-Man movie,
23:35where Tom Holland's Peter Parker deals with street-level crime across
23:39New York City.
23:42And yeah, there's something to be said for going back to the basics,
23:45especially after years of overcooked multiversal nonsense in the MCU,
23:50which I think we're all pretty tired of.
23:53Next up, Winnie the Pooh, Blood and Honey 3.
23:57Winnie the Pooh, Blood and Honey may have been widely panned by critics
24:01for rather cravenly cashing in on Winnie the Pooh entering the public domain,
24:07but credit where it's due,
24:09last year's Slasher sequel was actually a marked improvement.
24:13Oh, seriously, it's actually pretty okay.
24:15With a larger budget and more considered approach to its own blood-soaked take on Pooh,
24:22Blood and Honey 2 landed an honestly impressive 47% on Rotten Tomatoes,
24:27far beyond the original's brutal total of three.
24:31A third film is set to start shooting in early 2026, and here's the rub.
24:37The screenplay has been written by genre legend Richard Stanley,
24:41who is behind films like Hardware and Color Out of Space.
24:46A genuine genre name getting involved in the...
24:49Pooh-niverse definitely lends it some much-needed credibility,
24:54and above all else, should ensure that this unlikely threequel
24:58is by far the most compellingly scripted of the trio.
25:02If the filmmakers can combine this with their penchant for grisly B-movie schlock,
25:07there's every possibility that Blood and Honey 3
25:10actually one-ups both previous films.
25:13On the way, 28 years later, The Bone Temple.
25:1728 years later was a movie I adored,
25:20but it was also a polarizing sequel that had the tricky task of re-immersing audiences
25:26in the world of Danny Boyle's 2002 post-apocalyptic horror classic.
25:31And that's a pretty hard task.
25:33It wasn't a home run necessarily,
25:36but it was a confident, bold, visceral piece of work
25:39that seemed to promise greater things on the horizon.
25:42Follow-up, 28 years later, The Bone Temple is just months away from release at the time of recording,
25:48and the trailer released so far looks absolutely stunning.
25:52While 28 years later had to acquaint audiences with a host of new characters,
25:57The Bone Temple will benefit from our familiarity with the likes of Spike,
26:00played by Alfie Williams,
26:02Dr. Kelson, played by an amazing Ralph Fiennes,
26:05and Jamie, portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
26:07While also lending greater context to the previous film's, um, puzzling, shall we say, final sequence.
26:15And of course, we also know that The Bone Temple will feature an appearance in the series' original lead,
26:20Cillian Murphy,
26:22though Boyle has already warned fans that it's more of a cameo
26:26intended to tee up a bigger appearance in the next planned sequel.
26:30Even so, if The Bone Temple is basically setting the table for a grand finale revolving around Murphy's gym,
26:36then it should leave fans decidedly more excited than the previous film's wildly divisive ending.
26:42Next up, Avatar, Fire and Ash.
26:45Avatar, The Way of Water offered yet more proof that you doubt James Cameron at your own peril,
26:51because in addition to the film's astonishing commercial performance,
26:55it was also a visually stunning and ultimately emotionally gratifying spectacle
26:59that had to be seen on the big screen.
27:02It did, however, have its fair share of narrative hiccups.
27:06The goofy resurrection of villain Miles Quatridge, played by Stephen Lang, for one,
27:10and much of the contrived later plotting revolving around his son Spider, played by Jack Champion.
27:16But with Way of Water getting a lot of the awkward onboarding out of the way,
27:21there's sure potential for the third film, Avatar, Fire and Ash,
27:25to be far sturdier and less clunky on a narrative level.
27:28With the threequels clear focus on a new Navi tribe, the Ash People,
27:34Fire and Ash should have a distinct flavor to its predecessor.
27:37And above all else, the new villain Varang, played by Una Chaplin, looks like an absolute badass.
27:44While the Way of Water more or less rehashed the same conflict from the first Avatar,
27:50Fire and Ash will seemingly make things more interesting by having disparate Navi tribes

28:022022's Fall was a tightly wound vertiginous thriller about two women who get stranded at the top of a 2
28:08,000 foot TV tower.
28:09And though it wore its low budget on its sleeve, it was honestly pretty good considering those obvious constraints.
28:17Its surprise success, both theatrically and on streaming, ensured that not one, but two sequels were swiftly announced.
28:25Just stop going up there. The solution's obvious.
28:28Jokes aside, it was recently confirmed that Fall 2 will be a standalone sequel focused on another duo of young
28:34climbers
28:35who end up trapped in an improbably perilous situation.
28:39And honestly, this one sounds a lot better.
28:42This time around, the climbers encounter a rock slide while doing Thailand's famous plank walk of Mount Kwan,
28:49leaving them stranded 3,000 feet in the air on a rickety hunk of wood, which, um, yeah, that sounds,
28:56sounds not for me that, like, the actual real life thing.
29:01Maybe sounds pretty fun, but I had rickety wood and heights.
29:07Oh boy.
29:09And also, yeah, apart from just sounding like a far scarier and more visually interesting scenario than the TV tower
29:15of the first film,
29:16it's also a tad less ridiculous considering how much the original film inherently strained its credibility.
29:22It's all down to the execution, of course, but with the more experienced sparing brothers who were behind Daybreakers and
29:29Predestination directing in favour of original filmmaker Scott Mann,
29:34there's a good chance it's an even more gut-wrenchingly tense outing than the first one.
