00:24las películas de antes yo lo vi so I was looking through every single lyric and just saying like how
00:31can I tie all of this together and when I saw that piece and I was like what about Amor
00:36como en las películas de antes and then I was like that is a long-ass title
00:42but maybe they'll be okay with it um because you know now everything is like short and memorable and this
00:50and that right but I just it just felt right and um and they liked it and they liked the
00:56idea and we made you know the cover art for it to go along with it just so I could
01:01we could start painting this picture.
01:06A lot of the songs were written all over the place so one of the the places where we went
01:11was Sinaloa which is where my grandfather the state where he was born and we went through Mazatlán, Culiacán, we
01:20visited Huamuchil and Wasabe and we wrote you know throughout those places as well as Mexico City
01:28and um each place each state each city I feel like has a different vibe and um and a different
01:38energy and I really like um I don't know like just riding that wave and um I feel like you
01:47can really feel it in in each different song.
01:54There was one song in particular that I had a really really deep connection with and I couldn't record it
02:01without crying and I feel like I was able to tap into something that that I I wasn't sure if
02:08I could tap into it like on call or on demand
02:11and um and um if um if I let myself go to that ya no vuelvas place it's it's like
02:19it's a feeling it's an emotion it's a reaction of the body and like every fiber in your being and
02:26I feel like to get that out you really really have to go there and just let yourself be that
02:33person saying those words and maybe like drinking a tequila or something.
02:41Especially when I was in Sinaloa and just driving down the roads and just looking at the landscape and trying
02:50to put myself in like my father my grandfather's you know shoes and just like look at those beautiful hills
02:59those mountains like he was here once upon a time and he probably saw
03:04you know you saw you know those same hills the same landscape this ocean and just trying to like soak
03:11that all in and and you know being driving through Sinaloa like by yourself it's not it's not that it's
03:19kind of scary
03:22but you know and oh my gosh there was some really weird energies that we felt like um even in
03:31this first Airbnb um I just I know that my grandfather
03:36he moved to the main city of Sinaloa which is Culiacán and he was there with his wife um at
03:45the time she wasn't his wife but she later became his wife and I just remember
03:49we stayed in the city of Culiacán and just felt these crazy energies and um and we couldn't stand it
03:57we had to leave
03:58after one night because I couldn't even sleep and and it was very like turmoil type of energy and it
04:07was it was crazy
04:11I'm already writing the next songs and I'm really excited about what's to come um there's going to be a
04:18couple of shows I'm performing at the Ford here in LA in September September 30th so be on the lookout
04:26for that
04:26and um we're performing in several festivals uh all over the country and bringing mariachi to a city near you
