00:09Everyone keeps saying what are you doing like how's retirement and I'm kind of like I don't
00:12know what I'm doing but I'm busy all the time and obviously having a little boy who needs a
00:17lot of attention and time he's just like non-stop fills my days so yeah retirement's great.
00:23Whenever I go away he goes like mommy running so and I'm like no I'm not running anymore but I
00:29think he really enjoys having you know that extra time with me and he's such a
00:32mommy's boy so it's fun. We're lifelong sport fans so I remember when we were kids getting really
00:38involved in and watching badminton and Gayle Emms and Nathan Robertson one of the time probably in
00:43Athens and then a bit later on you know really get involved but this time
00:47folicking kayaking that I'd never really followed before yeah I think that is a
00:51special thing about the Olympic Games. So we're actually going skiing before
00:55Christmas and we're coming home day four Christmas Eve and we'll go out with our
00:58auntie and uncles and cousins and then go to our parents house on Christmas Day and
01:02we get up in the morning go for a run to create some room for that turkey and I
01:06spent all day eating probably like a normal family Christmas. For me I was
01:09obviously an ambassador for the team heading out to Rio this summer and the
01:13achievements that they came home with was absolutely incredible there were so
01:18many firsts for sports there was so many amazing stories to follow of people who
01:24weren't necessarily expecting medals to those who were going out there hoping for gold.
01:37You go through phases of getting really tired and you're like oh I thought I knew what tiredness was
01:42as an athlete but it's a different kind but I mean I'm cracking on as normal I was
01:48definitely pretty nauseous the first four months so I'm hoping I'm peaking I'm
01:55waiting for that blooming stage to come. I mean Team GB are the ones that have
01:59supported every single athlete that you see at Olympic Games for that whole
02:03journey it's not just you know just before the event it's the four years ever
02:07since London 2012 everybody was aiming towards that that Olympic Games and Team
02:12GB as soon as we stepped into the village you know was welcomed massively.
02:15Yeah the next the next job is to start doing some wedding planning. We've done a
02:19little bit haven't we? We need to yeah. There's still lots to do. Well I think we've
02:24benefited from the support of previous Team GB balls and I think for the
02:29athletes of the future it's important they get the support that I've had so.
02:32Well certainly as rowing athletes we're used to being in Lycra day in day out
02:36with your cap jammed in our heads, sunglasses on, Lycra on so it's quite nice to
02:41step out into something different in the wardrobe. I think as Team GB we got on so
02:44well at the Olympics like just meeting all the different sports and actually going
02:49out and supporting each other once we'd finished competing.
