00:00The new temporary Huddersfield Market has hit a big milestone, as work is now underway on
00:06revitalising the town's historic Market Hall. Based on land between the current market on
00:11Brook Street and the Tesco car park, the temporary market will open its doors on the 13th of August.
00:17It will feature 36 indoor stalls and 30 outdoor stalls, with space for additional stalls on
00:25Brigham Street on busier days. The main hall works will see essential repairs and restoration of the
00:30market's decorative cast-iron frame and roof, bringing back its original colour scheme of
00:36traditional reds, pinks and creams. It's hoped the new hall will have over 87 pitches once complete.
