01:50job then the game pulls the rug out from under you and reveals she's actually after the g virus the
01:54whole time for players back then that betrayal was a huge shock because ada constantly played both
02:01sides without ever fully committing to either and just when you think she's gone for good she survives
02:05and keeps reappearing across the franchise like some action movie phantom with a grappling hook budget
02:10bigger than the police department's payroll even now nobody really knows where her true loyalties end

02:35for years albert wesker was basically portrayed as a one-man apocalypse in sunglasses
02:40so resident evil 6 revealing he had a son genuinely came out of nowhere jack muller first showed up
02:46acting like some random cocky mercenary who punches monsters for money and treats the end of the world
02:51like a mild inconvenience then the game casually drops the bombshell that he's wesker's kid suddenly
02:57every longtime fan collectively stopped and went wait wesker had time for that what makes the twist
03:02interesting is how different jake is from his father wesker was cold calculating and obsessed with
03:08becoming a god while jake mostly just wants to survive and get paid still there are little
03:13hints of wesker in him especially with his enhanced abilities and enhanced attitude
03:22alexia is alive resident evil code veronica a pity i must say goodbye so soon

03:36starts throwing red flags around alfred ashford almost immediately the guy runs around his giant
03:41mansion acting like a cartoon villain who got trapped inside a soap opera and we get the pleasure
03:45of watching videos of him pulling wings of dragonflies in front of his twin sister alexia
03:49eventually claire discovers the horrifying truth that alfred became so obsessed with alexia that he
03:54started dressing like her and copying her voice because well he couldn't cope with her death that
03:59reveal alone was enough to make players do a double take but then the game hits you again by revealing
04:04alexia was never dead at all she'd been asleep in stasis for years secretly mutating and becoming
04:09even more dangerous before exploding into one of the wildest final battles in the series
04:17luis worked for umbrella resident evil 4. gus if we made it all this way you know it means we're

04:30when capcom announced the remake of resident evil 4 most players expected some story tweaks here and
04:35there but nobody thought that luis sarah would end up getting one of the biggest glow-ups in the
04:40entire game in the original luis was mostly remembered as a charming guy who flirted constantly
04:45and somehow smoked during a zombie apocalypse like he had a secret stash of marlboros the remake digs
04:51much deeper into who he actually is and the biggest shock comes when he admits he previously worked for
04:55umbrella that reveal hits hard because umbrella basically ruins every day in the resident evil
05:00universe suddenly luis isn't just the funny side character anymore he's someone carrying massive
05:05guilt over his past especially once it's revealed he had ties to the branch responsible for the nemesis
05:11project it completely changes how you see him and makes his attempts at redemption feel way more tragic
05:27the bakers aren't the real villains resident evil 7 biohazard welcome to the family son
05:35early on in resident evil 7 the bakers seem like exactly the kind of family you'd expect to find in
05:40the house you stumble across in game they trap ethan in disgusting dinners chase him around with weapons
05:45and generally behave like they escape from the world's most cursed reality tv show dynasty whatever
05:51at first it feels pretty simple these are the villains run but the deeper the story goes the
05:56worst situation actually becomes the game reveals that evelyn the creepy bioengineered child at the
06:01center of everything has been controlling the bakers and twisting them into monsters against their will
06:06suddenly jack marguerite and the others stop feeling like pure evil and start feeling like pure
06:11tragedy having a genuine conversation with them makes you feel really really bad for them you judge
06:17them as evil hicks turns out they're nice hicks normal boy lucas or even zoe here
06:26that girl evelyn she did this what the hell is she now what did she do to you jill is
06:33the masked
06:33assassin resident evil 5 jill and i were ordered by the bsaa's european headquarters to apprehend him
06:41we accepted that mission in the hopes of uncovering some info that would lead us to wesker
06:46at the start of resident evil 5 everyone believes jill valentine died years earlier while taking wesker
06:51down except chris who refuses to let it go the guy spends half the game sounding like one of those
06:56conspiracy theorists with red string on a cork board constantly insisting jill is still alive somewhere
07:01as chris and cheva hunt down irving they keep running into a mysterious masked operative who
07:06effortlessly ruins their plans every five minutes most players assume the figure is just another one
07:11of wesker's loyal followers especially since the series already had characters like excella
07:15happily helping him destroy the world for absolutely no sensible reason then the mask finally comes
07:20off and suddenly it's jill not only has she survived the fall but wesker had brainwashed her into
07:26becoming his own personal super soldier and now you get to fight her uh oh
07:34so slow to catch on
07:41wesker's betrayal resident evil thank you barry well what do you know oh don't blame barry for
07:50everything i hear that his better half and two lovely daughters will be in danger if he doesn't do
07:56everything i tell him to it's funny looking back now but in the original resident evil albert wesker
08:01actually starts off seeming like one of the good guys he's the captain of stars wears sunglasses
08:06indoors like a maniac and acts like the calm leader trying to keep the team alive inside
08:10the spencer mansion the game spends a lot of time making barry look suspicious constantly hinting that
08:15he might be hiding something even wesker himself pushes that idea which makes the eventual reveal hit
08:20way harder out of nowhere players discover wesker was secretly working for umbrella the entire time
08:25and had basically set up the mansion incident to be one giant science experiment that betrayal alone
08:31was massive back then but the game somehow gets even crazier moments later when a tyrant impales him
08:36bye but not really just bye for now i guess it's time for show and tell
08:53you're so dumb
09:01how are you here by the time ethan winters reaches the end of resident evil 7 most players just accept
09:07that he's bulletproof horror games have always kind of worked like that you get stabbed chased through
09:11walls punched by monsters the size of trucks and somehow still keep moving because video game
09:16logic is basically held together with duct tape but in resident evil village ethan starts doing things
09:21that feel genuinely wrong even for him and even for this series his hand gets sliced off and casually
09:27reattached like he's fixing an action figure he survives injuries that should instantly turn a normal
09:32person into soup eventually the game drops its massive reveal ethan actually died back in resident
09:38evil 7 and has only been alive because of the mold infection ever since it was an insane twist for
09:44capcom but it completely reframed ethan's story and made the ending hit way harder emotionally than
09:50anyone expected that's impossible no way
09:57he shouldn't even be able to walk around
10:01quit messing with my head who is xeno resident evil requiem
10:18resident evil requiem basically spends its entire story throwing curveballs at the player at first
10:23grace seems like the usual traumatized federal agent character the series loves to introduce
10:27but it's eventually revealed she has direct ties to oswell spencer's experiments which instantly makes
10:32everything around her 10 times more suspicious the game also spends ages building up elpis as some
10:37catastrophic new virus that could wipe out humanity until it's revealed it's the opposite leon is
10:42carrying a dormant condition called raccoon city syndrome meaning the poor guy's basically been on
10:46borrowed time since the original outbreak and mr x makes a surprise return well not the actual mr x
10:53presumably but still the biggest reveal however still isn't totally revealed but we have enough to
10:59assume that we may see albert wesker again xeno is clearly some type of wesker clone his abilities
11:05his behaviors even voice actors are the same not to mention the big drop that spencer researched a means
11:11to transfer memories and experiences of exceptional individuals using the t-virus this was enough to
11:16make our jaws drop and give us insight into a big reveal in the expected dlc nothing you are nothing
