Over one hundred staff at the Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort are owed their salaries for the month of July.

Since the administrative shake-up last month, workers have not been paid, and according to some workers, it's becoming very frustrating for them. More in this Elizabeth Williams report.

00:00Staff were told by Friday 7th August they would receive their salaries but checks made on Saturday
00:07revealed that they are still not sure when the salaries would be paid. Workers state what is
00:14even more frustrating is that they are being asked to continue reporting for duty but they haven't
00:20really been given any proper information about what is happening with the company or what the
00:26future holds. An email sent to staff on Friday concerning the delay in salaries stated in part
00:32quote despite our best efforts to have salaries processed today Friday the banking procedures
00:40required to facilitate the payments have proven to be the primary cause of the delay. During the course
00:46of the process the bank requested additional information and the documentation which has
00:52further resulted in the processing time beyond all control. At this time we are unable to provide
01:00a definite date for the payment of salaries as we are awaiting the completion of the bank's review
01:07and approval processes end quote. Some staff members of the Magdalena Grant complained to TV6 News
01:15that they have bills and family to take care of and it's really unfair and stressful for them to be
01:21expected to keep working without knowing when they will get paid. When contacted president of ETEC
01:29Wesley Bridge Mohansing said quote management is presently meeting with the management of the Magdalena
01:35Grand Beach and Gulf Resort to address the matter as a priority. We look forward to resolving all
01:42outstanding issues in the coming days so that workers can be paid as soon as possible. We will provide a
01:48further update once additional information becomes available end quote. Four senior administrative
01:55employees were sent on leave last month as an investigation takes place. The Magdalena Grand
02:01Beach and Gulf Resort comprises 178 guest rooms and 22 suites. The state-owned resort falls under the
02:09management of the evolving technologies and enterprise development company limited ETEC which oversees the
