Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob successfully underwent a leadless pacemaker implantation procedure at the National Heart Institute (IJN) for an abnormal heart rhythm on Friday (Aug 7) afternoon.

According to his lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad, the former prime minister was advised to rest following the procedure.

00:15According to his lawyer, Datuk Amir Hamza Arshad, the procedure was carried out on Friday afternoon and was completed successfully.
00:23He said Ismail Sabri is in stable condition but remains in the Coronary Care Unit, or CCU, for close monitoring
00:32and has been advised to rest.
00:35Amir added that visits will be limited to immediate family members to support his recovery,
00:42while IJN has urged the media and the public to respect the former Prime Minister's privacy during this period.
00:50Earlier on Friday, Ismail Sabri had been scheduled to be charged at the Sessions Court but was admitted to IJN
00:58instead.
00:59The Sessions Court subsequently postponed the proceedings to August 27.
01:04Judge Susanna Husin fixed August 27 at 9 a.m. for the reading of the charges and for Ismail Sabri
01:12to enter his plea,
01:13after allowing the defence's request to defer the proceedings in view of his health condition, with no objection from the
01:20prosecution.
01:22The Sessions Court subsequently postponed the proceedings to April 25,
