Craig Lewis, affectionately known as Lewy, participated in the London Marathon with a significant purpose. Carrying 45.7 kilograms, he symbolized the 457 servicemen and women who lost their lives in Afghanistan as he reached mile 16 of the race. This endeavor aimed to raise funds for the Royal British Legion, ultimately generating £14,000 to honor the sacrifices made by these heroes. Upon completing his mission, Lewy was met with a touching surprise orchestrated by his friend and wife, who ensured she was present at the finish line as promised.
