Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob suffered an irregular heartbeat while at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters in Putrajaya on Thursday, and was taken to the National Heart Institute (IJN) by MACC officers, says his lawyer Datuk Amer Hamzah Arshad.

He also told reporters that his client is set to undergo a pacemaker procedure on Friday (Aug 7) afternoon to treat the arrhythmia.

He also revealed that Ismail Sabri had fallen about two weeks ago and was admitted to Pantai Hospital, with a follow-up examination at IJN already scheduled for next Monday.

00:07Dato' Sri is what is happening in the mahkamah.
00:09We also have the same time to see Dato' Sri.
00:14Currently, he is fasting.
00:16He will undergo the pacemaker procedure
00:18after Jum'at,
00:21around 2-3 pm.
00:23So, I hope that we are in the hospital
00:25so that everything goes smoothly
00:27and I hope that Dato' Sri will be healthy in the weekend.
00:31Dato, is this the first time you are seeing him
00:34after the advisory committee came out?
00:37Well, of course, I mean like this
00:40after the court, he came here straight away.
00:42But yesterday, yesterday you visited him?
00:45Yesterday not, because I was somewhere else.
00:47So basically, we just got information
00:49that he had to be admitted to IGN.
00:51And early this morning,
00:53I also contacted the DPP
00:54to check what is the status,
00:56what are they going to do.
00:58And initially, the plan was that
01:00the charges may be ran out here.
01:02But when we got certain information,
01:05we explained it's not practical.
01:07He is supposed to undergo this pacemaker procedure.
01:10So let him undergo that procedure.
01:12Once everything is being cleared,
01:14his condition has stabilized,
01:16then we would be more than happy to pay in court
01:19to answer the charges and fix him.
01:21So how long do you think he is to hurry with him?
01:24Well, I mean, I'm not a doctor.
01:26I'm not qualified to give comments
01:28as to how long it will take.
01:30But definitely a couple of days,
01:32and then we will monitor his progression.
01:35And whatever it is,
01:36we have to appear in court at 27.
01:38Hopefully by then,
01:39he's already fit and ready to appear in court.
01:42How does he feel about NACC?
01:44What do you do now?
01:45Basically, he would definitely want to clear his name.
01:48Of course, but at the same time,
01:49the main thing that is on his mind is his health.
01:52So let's hope and pray for his speedy recovery.
01:56And I think,
01:57please confirm with the medical staff as well
01:59that the procedure will be,
02:02will be,
02:03will be,
02:03will be,
02:03the start.
02:05What happened last night?
02:07Google did not want to attack or?
02:09Well,
02:09to be the same,
02:10because I was not there.
02:11But according to what we've been told
02:12by the MSCC officer,
02:14even in the course of the stamina recording,
02:16so the Sola Zohol 2,
02:18he wasn't feeling deep indeed.
02:20And now under part of the MSCC procedure,
02:22they have to make sure that
02:23wherever is in their custody
02:25during the investigation has to be fit.
02:28And if there's any medical condition,
02:30they need to immediately take immediate action.
02:32I think they're also being concerned
02:33of Dato Sui's health.
02:36Okay.
02:36Okay.
02:39I think,
02:40family members,
02:41of course,
02:41of course,
02:43they mean,
02:43they're what they were coming south
02:44and they're home for the person
02:45to Dato Sui.
02:47Basically,
02:48it was the MSCC who turned into hospital,
02:50I do not have the exact details,
02:52but of course,
02:53the MSCC had arranged for him
02:55to be transported to IJN
02:57because of his condition.
02:58And prior to this,
02:59the only news before this,
03:00he had a phone.
03:03Okay.
03:03And then he had the medical condition
03:04he had to be admitted to IJN
03:06and then there was about
03:06like two seconds
03:07and then he had to stop beating.
03:09Right.
03:10So he was supposed to go
03:11for a check-up with IJN
03:13next Monday.
03:15Okay.
03:15But because of the things
03:17that happened last yesterday,
03:18so maybe the exhibit
03:19will cause him to
03:22have this kind of situation.
03:23So look,
03:24yesterday was it the full day
03:25of statement recording?
03:26From what I've been made to understand
03:27it was from morning
03:28right until night.
03:29So what time was he brought here?
03:32I don't have that information.
03:33I don't have that information.
03:35What's with this pacemaker actually?
03:37What happened?
03:38Like I said,
03:39I mean,
03:39it's a hard problem.
03:41Okay.
03:41If only people are hard problem,
03:42we have to put in the pacemaker.
03:44Yeah.
03:45And then because even
03:46the letter from IJN
03:47that we cited
03:48confirmed that
03:49they detected arithmia
03:50which requires further investigation
03:52and check.
03:53That's what they said.
03:54Okay.
03:56Thank you Dato.
04:16Wow
