00:03After coming home from Maine for a wedding weekend,
00:07we quickly realized that my daughter McKinley,
00:10who will soon be three years old,
00:13we do not have her papa.
00:15Her papa is her stuffed animal.
00:18Oh.
00:18Sleeps with every single night.
00:20It is her other appendage.
00:24I mean, she is just obsessed.
00:25Yeah.
00:25And if you remember back to your childhood,
00:27you probably had something.
00:28A pillow, a blanket.
00:30A stuffed animal.
00:30Whatever it might be.
00:31Your safety net.
00:33Well, we spent one night in Connecticut on our way back down,
00:38and we realized we didn't have papa.
00:40That he was at the Airbnb or somewhere.
00:44Just not with you guys.
00:46Not with us.
00:46Yeah.
00:46Now, she was at a hotel,
00:47so she got distracted enough, fell asleep.
00:50We turned on a movie, which we never do,
00:52in order to make her fall asleep.
00:53And she did.
00:54We get home, and oh my gosh, she realizes.
00:58We have a backup friend.
01:02Immediately, she goes, well, that's not papa.
01:04Yeah.
01:05The smell, the wear of it.
01:06It's too soft.
01:07Yeah.
01:07He's this, that, and the other.
01:09He's too big.
01:09He's a little bit bigger than the other one.
01:11All this things.
01:12And she bursts into tears.
01:13Where is he?
01:14Where is he?

01:14And we had to explain to her, hey, this is what happened,
01:16and things happen, and we're looking.
01:19But, yeah, she was beside herself.
01:22Now, she did cuddle with the new doggie,
01:24but it wasn't the same.
01:27So, obviously, two hours from our Airbnb, we realized this.
01:31We call the hosts of the Airbnb.
01:34We message them and say, hey, listen, emergency, let us know.
01:38They said the cleaners went through the house.
01:40They instructed them to look for any stuffed animals.
01:42None.
01:43No.
01:44So, then, I'm like, okay, and my wife's like, I swear it's there.
01:47I swear it's there, Jeff.
01:49It never leaves from wherever she's sleeping.
01:51So, I give more specific directions.
01:53She was in this bed on this time, and da-da-da-da-da.
01:55They said, okay, we're going to go over.
01:57So, the hosts go over.
01:58Nothing.
01:59That's when the maintenance worker and one of the hosts start going through our trash bags
02:05that we had thrown in the trash bin outside to be collected.
02:09Yeah.
02:09To make sure that maybe McKinley didn't put it in a bag,
02:12and that bag got thrown out, or whatever it might be.
02:14No luck.
02:16So, here we are.
02:18Three, four days later.
02:19With a really sad little girl.
02:21And, you know, I think we've gotten her for the most part past it,
02:25but she keeps calling this papa, other papa,
02:28and she's just like, is sad about it.
02:30Other papa.
02:31I love that.
02:32That's good.
02:32And that's when I get a message from the host saying that the cleaning lady
02:37brought all the sheets to the laundromat, or wherever she does them,
02:42and papa was stuffed into the sheets,
02:44and he popped out of the dryer ready to come home.
02:48We found him.
02:50Oh, my gosh.
02:51My heart is so full.
02:52That's when the Airbnb hosts go out of their way.
02:54They send us a picture, obviously.
02:56Just double-checking.
02:57This is him.
02:58Yes, yes, it is.
02:59Then strapped into a seatbelt.
03:01Drive into the USPS.
03:03See him loaded up into a little box.
03:05Then a picture of the box all sealed with our address on the front.
03:09And then I say, oh, my gosh.
03:10Overnight, I'll pay anything.
03:12Like, just let me know.
03:13And they say, no.
03:15We insist on taking care of this ourselves.
03:17Really?
03:18Thank you so much for being such good tenants.
03:21And I said, no, no, no.
03:22I insist.
03:23They said, absolutely not.
03:25And so I took about an hour last night to write them the world's greatest Airbnb host review you've ever
03:30seen.
03:30I was going to say that.
03:31Ever.
03:32Jeff has some tears in his eyes right now.
03:35It's true.
03:36You know, you and Emily went above and beyond to, you know, make McKinley happy.
03:41And these hosts, I mean, we owe them everything.
